The fact that human mistreatment and neglect can so profoundly cripple a dog emotionally just shows how sensitive these creatures are and how dependent they are on human kindness for their well being. We should do more to be worthy of the loyal companionship they give us.
I totally agree, I always feel it is a privilege to be loved and trusted by any animal i only hope i am worthy.... I try. These people who foster are definitely worthy
That was the best approach to her tearing up the bedroom, just taking her time at her pace. I'm glad you fostered her. It just sucks that she was on deaths door, but she did get saved, so thank you
There is just such a calmness with Lee asher. I can't see any dog not trusting him he's an amazing human. People could learn from him being so humble thanks again
Most aren't a problem dog, they are scared, they don't understand why they are there. I also understand shelters are packed and they don't have time to make them comfortable or get use to humans again. I wish people would stop buying from breeders and give these animals a chance they will make you a great family member.
The shelter is such a scary place for animals. It’s so important to remember the 3/3/3 rule when you adopt. My latest senior I adopted lived 8 years alone in a cage at a puppy mill. The only human contact was when they took him out to mate. Then dumped at a shelter when he out lived his usefulness. He was so shut down that nobody could come near him. It’s been 8 months and he’s come so far here at home. He has exceptionally bad separation anxiety. He’s still afraid of the outside world. People really need to give animals time and space to feel safe. It is not about us, it’s all about them ❤
Lo que señalas también le sucede a los humanos, ataques de pánico, agarofobia, no somos diferentes a nuestros hermanos animales y todas las fobias son causada por terceros al igual que los animalitos.
Total admiration for those who foster. To volunteer all the time and effort for the benefit of the dog is amazing. To do that and then watch them move unto their forever home must be both sad and very rewarding.
When we talk to animals, most of us reflexively go up an octave and suddenly we can no longer ENUNCIATE our words. It seems to ease their fears. Imagine the reaction we would get if we spoke the same way to people we just met!
@@meghasinghania1 Of course not. Every living thing must be fed according to its kind. Turning a cat or a dog, for example, into a vegan is also cruelty. Veganism is a choice. I'm so happy you are receptive to Canadian adoptions. It's unreal the amount of time we've wasted filing out applications for adoption with no disclaimer, only to wait days for reply saying "we don't adopt to Canada".
That poor baby. She was so terrified. It's sad to see a dog so mistrusting of people. I thank you for taking her in!. She's a beautiful girl!!!! I'm so glad she opened up! She's so sweet!!!! Thank you for helping these sweet babies! They deserve every chance to have the best life they can!
Love, patience, other dogs...will awaken a dog's happy soul. Time and time again these videos about stray or abused dogs show this to be true. Shout out to Lee Asher who exemplifies this to perfection.
Thank you very much ma'am...you saved this dogs life...and who knows exactly what the dogs life has been like so far that he was so terrified of people.
Thank you for bringing Piper to her heart and see yours! You have built the trust that only truest hearts can do! She is happy to love and be loved finally!!!!
Both these stories are wonderful....So happy to see such kind people who will love & care for these beautiful pets.. Yes, at the end...She's a happy happy girl...!! Who's blessed more though? The care or the kisses you get at the end of the day? Rewards are great on both ends..
These people are so wonderful, sweet, patient, incredible. Thank you from one rescuer to another, for the amazing work you do. These animals need you so badly. God bless you.
Honestly i want to foster animals so bad...but im not personally well enough for the challenge just yet. But these people are the absolute best people.
ps OMgosh at 11:28 I have never seen a dog so happy and transformed than this one that was cowering uncontrollably. She looks radiant she is so, so very happy! I'm familiar with Asher House. Folks he has tons of posts/rescues pls look him up. Best from Colorado!
I adopted two bonded puppies from the shelter. My male dog was so shut down, but with love, patience and positive reinforcement, he has thrived! He turned out to be the easiest pup to train and he is so loving, loyal and affectionate. His sister is the perfect family dog, so sweet! Love my pit-corso dogs!!!
😊 humans often ask for a second ,third chance.. if these animals can talk I'm sure I'm positive they would love to have the same. So come on world, let's be kinder to these loving animals on land and in water❤ ❤❤❤
So many dogs get put down because they are deemed agressive and unadoptable when the fact is they are terrified. So many dogs do not do well in a shelter setting. You don't get to see their true personality.
Love , compassion and understanding make miracles possible. They change scared uncertain animals into cuddle bugs. I greatly admire the dedicated caregivers that support these dogs through every step of their journey. There are still good people in this world.💗
Thank you for working through her fear with her. You have helped her come into being her own dog. Such big steps. I hope you are proud of her and yourself because of your hard work. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Lee Asher - always great to see you in these videos and at the old place with that wonderful creek. All of these fosters (and adopters) are simply the best.
This beautiful channel ALWAYS makes my eyes sweat and thank you for keeping this beautiful pup pup from euthanasia. Piper was so scared and she's such a sweetheart of a fur baby. Lee is such an angel of many so its a beautiful blessing to see the love, patience, and transformation in them💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖.
It can take at least 6 weeks for a rescue, even with no 'bad' history to settle and feel relaxed. Sadly, I've known people who've had a dog a day and return them. People don't learn about dogs and behaviour before getting one, regardless of where it's from or it's age. They want a perfect dog, which doesn't exist - only a dog perfect for you. Our last rescue had been mistreated and was terrified of a lot of things. Once he trusted you, he was a 25kg lap dog who would have had you cuddle him all day if he could. His reaction to things when he was unsure/scared was to bark. People thought it was aggression - despite there being no teeth/growling. As he was a staffie x, and large, it made people worse, which also effected his reaction. Our current rescue dog, at just 5kg, does the same thing. His teeth are also sharper! Others think it's funny with a small dog, despite the fact that most bite injuries ( although obviously not as severe) are from smaller dogs. He hadn't been mistreated, just moved around a lot and is still only 18m old. We've had him for 3 months and we've really noticed a difference in his personality and how he responds to strange things. He is also a dognado. All that said, if people don't like dogs, and my dog in particular, then I doubt I would want to know them! 😂
I wish so much that I was in a situation where I could foster dogs. I have my two dogs and my HOA had to make an exception for me to have them. I need to move to a farm or something.
Thank you for posting, for fostering and for saving their lives! Thank you too for all those that foster and save! The dogs are beautiful. Lee es un ser humano increíble por eso la vida le da cada día más y le multiplica.
She’s not aggressive, she’s confused and terrified. Poor baby.
Exactly ❤ you can tell she was afraid but wanted to be loved at the same time
It's just so sad that presumably a human being made her that way probably physically abusing her
She probably wants to know where her babies are
