- Follow me on this London Walk taking you through another Multicultural area of London. We are walking in Stamford Hill this time. Located north of Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill is one of London’s most distinctive quarters, with its highly independent community of perhaps 20,000 Hasidic (Haredi) Jews. Fully shot in 4K HDR, I hope you will enjoy this walk and embrace the beautiful diversity London has to offer.

My father had friends living round and about the Stamford Hill area in the 1970's. My father embarked on a college course and made friends with a gentleman whose Mother was British / Father was Jewish and Scottish, to this day they are still friends. 50 years later, I too am always in and around the Stamford Hill area and love seeing this tight knit Jewish community in their traditional dress and so family orientated.
My family is from the Caribbean and I also have a friend whose family is Russian, Jewish, Scottish and Irish..
Amazing ! Thank you so much for sharing. I love reading these little stories in my comments 🙏🏽
Hope to see more from you. Thank you
Oh man that’s so good. I grew up in the area you recorded. It’s just great to reminisce my school, the cemetery, the shops we used to hassle the shop keepers and the same kinds of people I used to see everyday. Just fab!
Good to hear it bought some old memories my friend ! Hope you will like the other videos too 🙌🏽
Why do they wear all black?
@@feyzacagliyan2140 It's a social equalizer, like school uniforms.
I left 40 years ago but still remember stanford hill .. worked in Nash chemist
@@feyzacagliyan2140 It is the Hasidic dress code. This is a branch of Judaism, most Jewish people are much more secular. It is unique to visit because it is like a trip back to the old shtetels of eastern Europe.
Great walk video by Stamford. Excellent friend. Fantastic London. Yeah! 💥🇬🇧 👍
Thanks a lot Adrian !
I love Stamford Hill. The best Beigel shops in London. Shalom ✡️
Shalom 🙏🏽
Hi I'm from here and I walk around these streets every day and I can tell u the streets round here never get boring.
People from here r just nuts but that's what makes us so unique 😜🙃
Thank you for this; brilliant; in the 1970's I used to work in Stamford Hill so this was almost a new trip down memory lane; back in the 1970's the Orthodox Jewish community I think was more relaxed than it it now; a very interesting community - so thank you again.
Thanks for sharing this valuable
Comment Brain, I love it when my videos bring back any old memories and my viewers share it here 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I left 40 years ago but still remember stanford hill.. love to return one day

Beutiful view Big lk watching fr London 🌹🇬🇧
This is where I'd move to if I were moving back to london, a peaceful area and peaceful people.
Stamford Hill is actually a very dangerous place with lots of crime happening especially against jews
Apparently my father was a london, Italian orthodox Jewish person... I never met him.
My mother met him in 1986 and by 1987,
I was born in Dublin... she grew up in England 🇬🇧
Moved to Ireland with my brothers Father.
It's wild to think this is where my father may have walked...
The man I never met!
I did the same lived in Wellington avenue moved to Ireland

Beautiful place
I call it home...family place..✊
You call it home but others might call it cold and gray! It's July - Yikes!
I really want to go to London? But I don't know when I can go there😔
I love this place, nice people!
great walk.. ty
🍎nice place🍎
So different to when I lived in Stamford Hill. I do recall all the “frummers” though. I lived in Braydon Rd and we had a lovely Irish family living next door. I used to go to Tyssen Primary School.
Thank you for sharing, I love these comments :)
What was the Irish family name.. I left standard hill 40 years ago & returned to Ireland
I wanna live there
Where is that abandoned buildings located
I wish go to london this country is beautiful❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hope you can one day my friend !
This is a Jewish neighbourhood
I like it but i don't know what u as a Arab would think

What I care to live in peace only
RIP LONDON
Calling Stamford Hill a "Jewish Neighbourhood" in rather unspecific. It is a HASIDIC area. How many Israeli flags did you see in Stamford Hill? That would be NONE. Go to Golders Green and you'll notice the place is plastered in them. That's just one difference.
Just walking down the A10 didn't give a very accurate impression of the life of Stamford Hill. You should have gone to somewhere like Dunsmure Road, West Bank or Cazenove Road.
The best city😍😍😍💚💚❤❤
Reminiscing …… I used to live there had some great times
Super nice 😘😘
Super nice 😘
This was my home for 25yrs.love this everyday.then I got a horrible stalker.nobody could or would help bcos he famous.my life became a nightmare and I ran abroad.didnt fix the prob but now I have no way of coming back home.such sharp emotions watching this.thankyou.wish I cud come home..
who was the famous stalker?
London is like the best neighborhoods in New York but it's like that through the entire city..
Are you sure?? All of London is nice???
@@adonaiyah2196 Compared to large American cities, yes. You don't have heroin addicts shooting up on every corner with pimps, prostitutes and gunfire exchanged every 30 minutes.
@@kayflip2233 you clearly haven't been to South London its literally the slums here
@@adonaiyah2196 I'm a strategy consultant at McKinsey and have lived all over the world including London, Chicago, Philly, NYC etc. I've been all over Brixton, Kennington, Croydon, Hackney even Tottenham, walked through estates in the middle of the night with no problem. It's not remotely scary at all compared to North Philly, South or West Chicago, East Detroit, Brownsville, Brooklyn etc. You don't see garbage everywhere and fiends strung out on heroin everywhere. You don't have 900 homicides a year like in Chicago where 50 people get shot over a weekend (London is 4 times bigger than Chicago and only had 100 murders). You don't have the street crime of the Bronx etc. American culture is totally different from UK culture, it is far more dangerous here due to our gun laws, history of gangs, crime, wealth inequality etc. You can walk through those areas in London and nothing will happen to you, but you absolutely cannot take a casual stroll in Englewood, Chicago without putting your life at risk. There is a huge difference.
@@kayflip2233 u ain’t been to the worst places you’re talking from ignorance
Stamford Hill estate no longer Guinness trust ? Great video was born and raised here in the 8-s lots changed
I'm sorry I am late 😞 watching..
Aunque no es latino tiene un sabor latino y me gusta ver tantos judíos como de otras nacionalidades.
TBH There is a Brazilian and Columbian community nearby :)
Notice the area get less and less orthodox as he walks onwards
Yes, that Stamford Hill mile is the heavily populated Jewish area and as you go into Stoke Newington it becomes less Jewish.
drove past there i saw jews everywhere
19:05 BMW X5 turned left without a turning indicator ! 😂
Shalom 💞💞
I lived here 41 years ago I emigrated to Ireland.. is Nash chemist still open I worked there
Amazing ! Thanks for sharing !
No
I can't believe this is London of modern era.. The Jewish people are like in several centuries ago..
This is a specific branch of Judaism, I am Jewish and most Jews are secular or moderately religious', these people are like the Amish of Jews essentially.
It's a little different from what I saw in another video, you hardly see people here and the sidewalks are different...
I wonder they try to live and let live and expect same but is there perhaps a touch of suspicion and dislike at strangers recording them on street
Camera and action on your mobile I can see you and I can hear yo
I live there
It's weird I'm from greater Manchester And I just found out in my ancestors we had some jewish roots and I'm english
Are the women not allowed to wear anything but flat shoes?
I love the Jewish people they go about there business
diversity is our strength Sadiq khan keeps saying ..I just hope the uk gets millions more Africans that will really make them string
you think goldsmith would have been any better? you know his nephews are half pakistani
@@richrich9321 did I say the Tories or goldsmith are any better?
@@ericboxer3053 Yet you talk like a Tory.
@Patrick Dixon if I was in charge I'd have the Tories put in prison camps right after the greens and right before labour lol
@@ericboxer3053 Then you're a hypocrite.
Up the Spurs....!!
Looks like 1932
i'd like to hang out there for a bit but they are a closed community. You probably won't be shown very much by them
Yeah, I am Jewish myself and I would not have much luck as I am secular. I do have a very religious' family member so I have an in that way but if you just randomly pop by they will not be mean or tell you to leave but they will not be super open either.
that's what i think too but I think i'll head on over there soon and explore even if they are stand offish and closed. It will be good to people watch and observe and go in one of their secular bars and stuff@@mzple
Religion is a great divider ..What a pity because we’re all just ordinary people, imagine a world free of so many different religions..This is a big difference to walking round Tower Hamlets.
Jews don't force their religion and they are against missionary, unlike some other religions. And usually theu are very educated and erudite. Contribute to the GDP as well, like the Hindus. Not a typical minority if you ask me. Plus, they live in the UK since the times of Cromwell, they are not the new immigrants who tend to make mess.
@@Jewish_Israeli_Zionist..I’ve never had anything but the greatest respect for the Jewish people, no problems at all with them ..But I’m sure the world would be a better place without any religion whatsoever, but of course that’s impossible .
1:48 do nada um flamenguista 😂
I love going to Stamford Hill London to buy kosher food and go to the Jewish Bakerys
They kind got their own modern day ghetto....
@Lazer Benabba cmon mate you know pakistanis are such an easy target, its uncouth
@Lazer Benabba so you decided to answer an offensive remark with your own offensive remark ? Well done and only confirms what we thought!
You can't honestly say it's a beautiful place as some are commenting, just concrete jungle and traffic everywhere and people walking around in stupid clothes
At least they wearing clothes
To many black and brown people unfortunately this is not. London anymore
