I wonder why after paying them ($40k?) would he have to do a complete rebuild? Then probably spent 10 to 15k on Parts and labor trying to rebuild it. Then selling it for $15k. I don't know all the numbers but I'm pretty sure he recovered the money spent trying to redo it the right way and gave the car away. The original purchase price was lost.
Well, at least he found another knob to buy it.
You guys probably won’t even see this but I just watched an old ep of F&L and wow is this new youtube sooo much better. It feels so much more authentic and laid back and not so filled with network cheese. I hope we can get to way more frequent videos soon! You guys will blow up quick on here! 5 million subs before you know it!

This programme is why i got my first American truck farm fresh from Arizona via Sutton outside London here in the UK! - 1971 ford f100 with a 390 motor four or five years ago! ........And still working on it! None of this 6 week turn around on the driveway here! Every time I go out expecting it to break down, and it has many times but i love it, every time i go out it gets video by folks, pictures taken wherever i go, it is great that other people share an interest in it-you just don’t see beasts like this these days.
Loved the show right from the start and have gone through the highs and lows if that is at all possible? great to see it metamorhisie to the show it is today, some incredible builds, so keep up the great work Richard you are a genius even if you do drink Miller Light!

@Martin Yep, kept saying he wasn't sure he was buying it, but his shirt kept pulling up and showing the wad of cash in his back pocket. Nobody who's "not sure" if they are going to buy the car has the money clearly visible to the seller. Better than the TV show, but still staged to some degree.

The overinflated prices on the show are fake, pre-negotiated numbers that are no where near what the actual prices paid were. I found a listing for a car they were selling and the listing stated "You are welcome to take delivery of the vehicle "on the show" however the price disclosed on the show is for entertainment purposes only and is not the actual price you will pay."

I'm enjoying this so much more than the TV show, which I liked.
I'm really pleased to find this channel, I liked that series where Richard revamped failing Workshops and turned them around.
This looks to be interesting, Richard has considerable drive and makes things happen.
@Randall Johnson The phenomenal transformations spoke for themselves, the premises were outstanding and beautifully equipped and the staff were completely re-energised and motivated by their turn around!
These businesses went to a level that they hadn't even known existed before Richard took them under his wing!
As a former mechanic and workshop owner I was very highly impressed with the remarkable transformations and business advice and support!
The recipients seemed rather pleased too!

Shit, brother, you can find em on Auto Trader, Buy and Sell, Hemmings, lotsa places, already built, road tested, all the bugs sorted out, for more like 45 to 50k. Don't buy it from the builder, buy it from the rich old guy that bought it from the builder. They get bored with their toy and move on to the next one.

This was one my favourite Gas monkey builds, I got the way Aaron had his vision for it , and it turned nice even if it wasn't 100 percent done , or made a lot of money at the auction. I would like to own it the way they built it ,and I don't even prefer hot rods at all.

@@west-texas9806 season 10. episode 4. it was purple. the seller here paid 45 grand for it on the show..tore it apart and sold it back just now for 15k.
I never really thought about it until I started working on modern cars but guys like this must make an absolute MINT working on these older builds. You buy them for what seems like a lot of money, but then there's virtually no labor involved in the teardown. All of the time is just getting it to a good foundation, prep, spray, rebuild, and resell. Hell most of the work is probably in the planning.
I'm not saying that it isn't cool, but damn does it seem 'easy' compared to working on relative moderns.
Always nice to get them back and be able to make money on them a 2nd time. Richard only you could give a guy the lowest possible dollar for an item and still get him to help load it :)

Just like an OCC chopper, the cars this guy turns out almost always end up in someone else’s shop getting major rework within a year of ownership. Structural welds failing, drivetrain issues, fluid leaks, hack job electronics, steering racks coming undone. You know it’s bad when someone brings their car to PepBoys to have the brake system on a C-10 redone. Seriously, the entire thing was trash. We managed to salvage most of the hard lines, but they screwed up just about every other part of the brakes.
@@jgetscensored7837 nothing in this video is about poor workmanship. They said he wanted to put it back to stock floor. They may do crappy work, but that's not shown here, and no one says they took it to another shop to 'make it right'. lmfao

It was the 1950 Oldsmobile that they did on Fast N' Loud that made me fall for that show & look at cars a whole different way. That's the car I wish I had the Richard had his hand in.

Well, what did the car look like? What episode was it?
Season 1 episode 12 "Holy Grail Hot Rod". Same wheels and tires, body dropped down (channeled) over frame, solid burgundy color, no hood or side panels around engine, gold pinstripe around grill shell.
season 10 episode 4. the guys built it while Aaron was racing pikes peak. it was purple and they sold it to this same guy for 45k.
