Greetings from Boston! Since the weather was so beautiful (if a bit windy) we thought we'd do the Bobby Darin classic, "Beyond the Sea."
Though you can't tell from the footage, Zach made an incredibly athletic save during one of our takes -- he full out dove for the camera as it began to tip backwards, and in all the commotion, he managed to keep it above the sand and never let it touch the ground. We all have newfound respect for his kinesthetic gifts.
See you next week!

Lyrics to "Beyond the Sea":
Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailin'
Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms
I'd go sailing
It's far beyond the stars
It's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing
I know beyond a doubt, ah
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet (I know we'll meet) beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing
No more sailing
So long sailing
Bye bye sailing
My wife and I followed you for two yrs now she is in I c u I play your music for her thank you so much you have made her so happy
That these lovely young people are even remotely aware this music exists gives me a reason to live..
Trust me, we younger generations listen to this in the masses
We're still here!
When Toni smiles, the world’s heart skips a beat.
I couldn't agree more.🙂
Mine just stops.
is Toni the drummer?
@@avrpe She is the guitar player.
Hyperbole much?
never heard this for years i'm 70 great job folks loved it ,lets have some more oldies xx
Bobby Darin was one of the greats. Beyond the Sea and Mack the Knife were two of the best ever. I never got the chance to see him in a live performance. Wish I had.
Second only perhaps to Sinatra… wish he’d had a longer career. Especially interesting how much he evolved from Splish Spash to Beyond the Sea…. Wonder where he would have gone to next… ❤
So I’ve just found Reina and Josh on RUclips in 2019. The thing I love about the whole group...it’s just so genuine and about the music. No fancy clothes, makeup or production. Just a camera and making music. So refreshing. Well done and good for you.
I 💕 them both no doubt about that☕️ the people that play with them are so beautiful funny and talented jo
Me to!
Welcome to a whole new world of Sunday Mornings !
indylovelace you Got 10 years to catch up with , lucky you
The Hollywood fake machine turns out some of the most pretentious crap. It's nice to listen to something generic and wonderful.
"Beyond The Sea" is the English-language version of the French song "La Mer" by Charles Trenet, popularized by Bobby Darin in 1959. While the French original was an ode to the sea, Jack Lawrence - who composed the English lyrics - turned it into a love song. Wikipedia
Reina's voice ❤
Toni's guitar ❤
Love how Toni is always smiling beautifully
looks like pure joy to me Brad!!!!!!!
This is a fantastic arrangement . The girl playing lead is unbelievably good .
Tony is fantastic.
La 1ière version de cette chanson est sortie en 1946.C'est Charles Trenet qui a composé cette chanson.
LOVE SEEING YOUNG PEOPLE PLAYING AND ENJOYING MUSIC THAT ACTUALLY GOOD !
🦋
When I was getting off my last ship in the Navy I used to walk around singing this and Keys to the highway by Ben E. King. Awesome to hear it.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE I CAN RELATE TO THIS SONG - I am from the Philippines this song of Bobby Darin gives me back fond memories of the 50s as we live in an island watching ships pass by as we sing Beyond the Sea. we are blessed surrounded by the windy Philippine sea. THANK YOU FOR your rendition Reina del Cid IT is awesome.
SATAN'S ISMS SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL HAVE BEEN DECEIVING THE WORLD, YET THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST HAS TRIUMPHED BY THE CROSS. ruclips.net/video/vafaHgOeT4Q/видео.html
I'm late to the party But your location looks like South Boston at the Sugar Bowl across from JFK library. Cool!
Excellent performance. Fantastic!!. I love it.😉🥰🤩🥳❤💯
These 2 powerful women take on difficult renditions. Kudos to them for pulling it off so well !
Upright bass guy is thumping, great groove.
Everything the singer and guitarist do is pure gold. A refreshing take on classic songs. Great work from the other musicians as well.
I saw him in Vegas, maybe 1968/9. He was phenomenal. Died way to young 😢.
So glad you left in out takes. Love it.
Toni at 1:09 is so sweet! ❤️
I've always liked this video. It almost has a Charlie Chaplin/Buster Keaton silent film feel with the falling camera and the Toni lens cleaning closeup. But the star of this movie isn't silent: it's Reina using her voice marvelously in a song that seems to be written just for her.
Why do I love these old songs? Oh, because they great music! Great job!!!
I love the wide range of music you do. Older classics like this never go stale. Keep it up!
Excellent version of a classic old song. Your video was fun and entertaining too.
french song of CHARLES TRENET THE GREAT !
Loved the Bobby Darin since childhood. Love the Trenet original. Love this one -- kudos to the bass!
The original version was 'La Mer' (the sea) in French and a great hit in Europe by Charles Trenet...
-> First recorded by Roland Gerbau: ruclips.net/video/-kmx8iReFyc/видео.html
and it is much better from Trenet, sorry...
@@MrSeverin420 Yet it is good to see a younger generation give their own interpretation of these old songs.
And they do a pretty good job at it!
@@Franky46Boy Nothing wrong with it, I just like the "original" much more. It shows so much the fun and joy going to the sea, you really feel the joy which I dont have the impression with this new Version
MrSeverin420 sorry, but nope...
If I was just 45 years younger, me and my Washburn 12 would be headed to the Twin Cities!!! Love your stuff!!
What do you mean "washburn"
@@남유성진-u2g Washburn is the fine accoustic All American guitar made in the USA. Mine is a 12 string I bought in 1980 and have been playing it for 40 years. To know Reina would be to want to make music with her.

Your location recordings are some of the coolest in the business!
back 4 years later and still loving it!
As soon as you started singing I was hooked! Wonderful performance! Outstanding tone and style! (Great video too!)
There is often a subtle tone in the young lady's voice which reminds me very much of Peggy Lee. And that, whoever you are, is a compliment. 🙂👌👏
La mer
La mer
Qu'on voit danser le long des golfes clairs
A des reflets d'argent
La mer
Des reflets changeants
Sous la pluie
La mer
Au ciel d'été confond
Ses blancs moutons
Avec les anges si purs
La mer bergère d'azur
Infinie
Voyez
Près des étangs
Ces grands roseaux mouillés
Voyez
Pauvre FRANCE
Awesome vocals and song and musans thanks for sharing 🎶🎵🎤😊🕺💃👍👌💐💕
You guys look like you're really having fun.
Reminds me of the group of us that spent lunch and after school time, in the band and theater rooms in high school. Nowhere near the talent you have, but what a great time it was.
I LOVE WHAT YOU DO!!!
Vocally mesmerized one of your best I really like what you've done here thanks for entertaining us you and Tony are swell
Wonderful job, everyone! Reina, I think your vocals are amazing. The way you use your voice is incredible and I like your song selections. I just about cried watching your recent "Moon River". I've seen haters and detractors on some comments on other videos. Don't even read them, and if you see them ignore them. The way you work around vocal limitations (I mean like the high end - your voice is clearly more husky) is a little reminiscent of Sinatra. Now I'm not saying you are the next Sinatra; I'm just saying you are original - keep doing it your way! I hope you make it back to NYC, missed that in November.
So glad you guys play those old songs.. Really sounds great.
I'd love to hear you guys (same four people) do "Don't Know Why" by Nora Jones. Please make it happen!
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Beyond the Sea was written by Jack Lawrence in1945. The original melody for this song is from La Mer by French composer Charles Trenet. Beyond the Sea was made popular by Bobby Darin in 1959.
Good rocking tune, I liked it, greetings from Berlin….
This is my absolute all time favourite song!! I have heard all versions, including big band versions, and this is how it should be done, much nearer to the original French.
Love these people, and the girl singer could go far. Hope they really make it.
I love this song! I think Bobby would approve
I love such outdoor performances. Great job!
You guys are such a joy to hear and watch thanks for the music
Delightful🤩 Cute camera work
Wow! one of my all time favourites. Good job guys.
Fabulous, really enjoyed this, showed great character and ingenuity. Love that you chose the beach, complemented the song vey well. Hope we get a chance to see more of you.
That was fantastic! Please come back to Boston soon. VERY soon!
I love listening to you and Josh Turner and crew playing these songs from the era before me and even my parents. You all do justice to that music with extraordinary talent. Thank you and God Bless you all! The original artists are all looking down with happiness.
Again, Bravo, well done....one of this old man's favorite songs...
One of my all-time favourite songs, and you do a lovely rendition.
this was the first video i saw of yours and the jambalaya one that and i have been hooked on your music. love all you originals .
Applause to all! (so good to hear someone slapping a doghouse for the bass notes, no substitute)
What a brilliant rendition of one of my top three tunes of all time.I am amazed just how cool this really is. It is as chilling as a glass of ice-cold lemonade on a scorching hot Summers day. Great singing voice and a terrific guitar solo make this a little gem of a find. The guys are superb too and don't put a foot wrong. You are all a class act and deserve to hit the big time. Thanks for this. I have put you top of my favourites list on here and I hope there is more from you for me to enjoy.
Hi Awesome vocals and music thanks for sharing thumbs yup 👍💕🎶🎶🎵🎵😁😎
I love watching you guys. The little outtakes stuck in there and the people walking by added something so real. Great job!
I really do love your selection of music!! You make the world a better place! I could listen to you all day long!
What a nice job you folks did on this great old song, thanks!
Filmed 2014 AD. This is 2019 AD and I love it...keep the 🎼🎹🎷🎻flowing guys...Where ever you are.
nice cover, original is a french song called "la mer" by Charles Trenet.
I thought I had seen all of the videos but this is the 1st time i have seen this. Another song done beautifully well. Toni is adorable in this.
I love their casual style of playing. Love it and keep coming.
Lovely performance of La Mer... Smashing setting and nicely filmed and recorded
Great video. This is another one of my favorite songs, and a great version of it. I really enjoying seeing your videos. And since I have only been following you since Sept of 2017. I have a lot of videos to look forward to
So neat and plain - but beautiful ... thank you for all your music and songs !!
So well done! It never gets old, no matter how many times I watch it.😀
Reina and Lori are meant for each other. I always enjoy their stuff.
' La Mer ' Very cool arrangement of this classic....Aloha
One of my favorite Bobby Darrin hits, and a _VERY_ nice cover!
Luv the outtakes!
That smooth voice like your whispering always when you sing. Great covers of songs talented people.
Good job. It was filmed near Pleasure Bay/Castle Island in South Boston. I use to live right up the street.
That is one great sounding Guild!
* Outside performances are invaluable! Thank for smile and amazing music
Brilliant as always. Great match of song and voice
Very good appearance on the beach. Always amazed how well your guitarist plays the guitar. Since I am also a musician, I follow her solo and chord playing. Since I have two students who teach me guitars, I will introduce them to some of your songs.
Beautiful! Love these old songs!
Such a warm wonderful voice and marvelous accompaniment
For some who don't know it's a French song written by Charles Trenet
Great. The sound, the setting and so on...
I love this (AS i Have all the other songs I've seen / heard from Reina and Toni) I would love to hear you do a version of 'up the Lazy River' and / or Memphis in June.
Now this is awesome!..
Loved when the camera blew over ~ that is so authentically what would happen at the beach !
Great audio quality and a fabulous location. Love it!
Great discovery my new favorite band !
Amazing ❣️ I like this song of yours❣️I love you all❣️

So wonderful.
That's looks like so much fun. Beautiful song thanks
Ive been a fan for a reason.
This. This is one of the reasons :)
I can't stop loving you
It's always fun watching you guys play. Keep it up.
Thank you for this beautiful and soulfull performance of one of my favorite hits by Bobby Darin from back in the day! It absolutely made my day and put a big smile on my face. I subscribed and hope for lots more from y'all.
Beyond funny! Love that you kept the bloopers in 😄.
Great cover of a great tune (flip side of Darin's classic "Mack the Knife", also played over the end credits in "Diner". And folks might also enjoy the French original, "La Mer" by Charles Trenet
Very first song I can ever remember is Mack the Knife. I loved that song. But now that I am an adult , I see that it's very grim.
You group of young people are just superb. How did all of you grow to be so talented?
very good... i love this song...
