      @sfdko what she means is puppy dog energy, perhaps too eager to see you again and seemingly not having grit. While this easy-going energy is good, naturally, we want we can’t have. That’s why people talk about bad boys versus nice guys for centuries. But then you grow up and realize that a lot of these nice guys or nice women make better partners, long-term after getting played by toxic people who play games. However, a lot of these nice guys are actually unhinged and insane looking for their next victim.

    Kelly, sometimes I think the kind of guy you want would be found in places where you have PROXIMITY. It's like the Mrs. Degree. You aren't going to find a guy making youtube videos and going to coffee shops. You need to be in college or find a job where you are NEAR the type of men you want. Thats how many women meet men who are educated with good paying careers. Constant proximity and access to higher places IS THE KEY.

      You are absolutely right. I’m an introvert and don’t like going out but I forced myself to go to dinner a couple weeks ago and that’s how I met this amazing man I’ve been seeing. He’s literally my dream man and he has a house in Vail and he’s serious about his faith. I just wish I could speed things up and immediately be cuffed but these things take time lol. This is crazy because I prayed for his exact type in there he was and we started talking. And he wasn’t scared off by my dry humor. All it took was dining alone at a high-end establishment, where I would go anyway.

    Ok about submission: It's so so soooo tricky because submission puts you as a woman in an immediately vulnerable position and if that man is not worthy of your submission, you're opening yourself to a whole host of problems (abuse being the main one, but obviously not the case for the majority). I wasn't really taught was submission was in a healthy way until after I became Catholic, most black protestant women are in their girl boss era so most submission talks growing up always came with caveats. True submission I think doesn't really exist before marriage. Because marriage is the part where you both say to each other "I give myself over fully to you" and you're essentially submitting to each other in your own roles. (Ephesians 5 the whole chapter lol). This also depends on if you believe in living together before marriage and/or divorce, neither of which are licit in the Catholic Church. So as a woman dating, you definitely observe a mans ability to lead and his character, and you definitely give him whatever level of affection and benefit you feel comfortable with (making it clear the things you are not comfortable with) but that to me is different than submission, because submission is full. Just like sex, I don't offer husband privileges to boyfriends. It's all so complicated though and heavily dependent on a lot more than can be expressed in a RUclips comment. Just adding my 2 cents lol. Done correctly, dating as a Catholic/protestant can be a truly beautiful and exciting thing, but it also takes a lot of discernment.
    (also, your risotto looks beautiful!)

      this is so well said! ❤ im catholic and sadly when i was 18 i ended up in the exact situation you described. i was submissive to a man who was abusive and struggled to get myself out of it because i genuinely thought he was supposed to be my husband and thought the abuse was normal. it took a long time to heal and figure out what it actually means to be submissive in a healthy, Godly way. i am still trying to figure it out tbh. i just try to embrace the parts of me that are gentle and nurturing while also knowing my worth and holding high standards for men.

    • @Rosemary46840
      @Rosemary46840 Год назад +6

    Thank you Kelly! You have literally put into words everything that I have learned lately in my walk with God. He's opened my eyes to so many things and I am so grateful that I don't live the lifestyle that I used to...the world teaches the lie that being physical with someone is the only way to get close to them and to love them. That's sadly not true. All that it does is make you blind to red flags and settle for someone that doesn't actually treat you the way you deserve. You know the thing people always say in regards to sex before marriage "You gotta test drive the car first?" Well that's flawed, because most people don't keep their cars forever...they'd also sell their car if they had the money for a newer one, just as someone could leave you for someone else. People aren't cars.
    Recently, God gave me the strength to put my foot down against someone I really liked that wanted to push my physical boundaries, and guess what? That person left! Just goes to show that he cared more about my body than about my mind and heart. Old me would have let things happen and I probably would've fallen in love and then they would inevitably break my heart. I've had the same cycle over and over. People might call that life experience, but truthfully, it's trauma that we were never supposed to endure. Jesus ended that cycle and helped me to heal.
    Ladies, take it from me - abstinence is not just some dumb Christian thing. There's a reason behind it. It's not that God doesn't want us to have fun..it's protection against people that just want to use you.

    • @Rosemary46840

      I love this for you girl, ( I also hope to be a stay at home mum). My advice is to make sure your married, he’s putting money in to your retirement and that if you have a home that your name is on it. I would also recommend having experience in your career and having enough money saved for if you needed to leave ( I would say at least a year’s salary ) its important to financially protect yourself❤

    This video is such a wonderful vibe. :) Love your energy and really appreciated the things you had to say concerning men, women, and what God designed us to be. Submission isn't a bad thing when you have the right kind of man. Thanks for the reassuring message. God bless you.

    Hi, I hope you’re doing well! 😊 You mentioned Desperate Housewives in one of your videos and I decided to start watching it. Best decision I’ve made this year! I’m curious to see you do a character analysis of Bree Van de Kamp. I’m on S5 right now and I can’t help but see similarities in your values and morals and Bree’s.
