455 carriage had a better air powered sound than the 508. Amazing how both carriages marry together seamlessly

So that's why there's an odd set of large doors!!

Great Video, it's standard for the 455/7's as the Class 508s were reduced from 4 to 3 carriages.

The doors are wider and it’s not the same height as the 455 and the door buttons are placed somewhere else

Very similar with Class 315 except open/close door buttons (outside) is different. Since Class 315 units (least 1 has saved and also other 1 still in south of Yorkshire but not scrapped yet) already gone and one day I will catch Class 455/7 at Waterloo or Clapham Junction before withdrawn. Are Class 455 units always rushed to Waterloo from Clapham Junction? I remembered it went rushed to CJ than my Class 421 (Victoria-East Croydon-Brighton). I was reacting when I saw there was alike Class 315 (508 tailor) in Class 455/7 with same South East Network livery.

The class 455/7 units have redundant TSO carridges taken from Class 508s (508s and 313/314s are both of the BREL '72 design). The 508s were originally used for Suburban services out of London Waterloo, when they were moved to Mersyrail the extra TSO wasn't needed.
