Im new to kayak fishing and have been going to marina del Rey. I definitely want to try Redondo one of these days.
Sorry for the delay. If I am back in town with my boat. I will hit you up. Redondo can be light out.
Be kind and God bless most importantly yeeeeeeeew! 😎
Dude, that was a paddle! glad it was calm. The day looked beautiful too.
I would not do a paddle like that without checking wind speed and direction. It was a great day on the water. Just wished the fish were bigger.
West Coast fish look so much different then over here on the Atlantic side, def more exotic looking
It really is different. Water is colder and deeper. Fish are spread out more too.
New to kayaking and I love fishing. Is there a place in So Cal you'd recommend to start at? Don't think I'm ready for the open ocean, looking for safe calm waters.
Awesome, welcome to the party! Huntington Harbor and Alamitos Bay are good places to start. A lot of docks and some open waters you can fish. Also important for a new kayak fisherman places to hide from the wind. Wind is one of the things you have to be aware of while fishing on a yak. It can push you into boat traffic if you are not paying attention. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
Maybe we can link up sometime and give me some pointers, just got a yak. Im from LB area! Id like to learn more about cabrillo and redondo! last spot I fished was the queen marry !
Nice, welcome to the kayak fishing family. I don't live in LA anymore and don't know when I will be down. But I don't mind helping where I can. What are some of your Q's?
Yo Red been enjoying your content!!!! and ive been learning alot from it as well, because of you i bit the bullet and got myself a hobie! so im excited to be hitting the water and catching some fish! Tight lines fam!
I am glad you are enjoying my stuff. You will not be disappointed with the new Hobie. Be safe and good luck out there. Let me know how you do.
what depth do you usually fish? Awesome video! :)
Thanks. I like to start on the inside of the kelp around 15-20'. Then work my way out to the edge of the kelp fishing in 40-60'.
