After Venom (the first one), I'm starting to think they are doing this on purpose. You can't keep releasing trash after trash and expect better results!! They got lucky with Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but everything else feels like they are purposely trying to bankrupt their company.

However Sony wanted Kraven to have his own movie so canceled that draft. Obviously, what we got was better, but I'm still curious as to how that movie would've turned out

This movie should've basically been a superhero remake of "First Blood." He could've basically been the woodsie version of batman, I feel like that would've been dope.

This movie was directed by J. C. Chandor, who has a really good track record with acclaimed films such as Margin Call, All is Lost, and A Most Violent Year. Until Kraven the Hunter, Chandor’s worst film by default was Triple Frontier, which is a pretty good action movie on Netflix. Richard Wenk, who wrote all three of The Equalizer movies, also has a screenplay credit. And these two STILL weren’t a match for Sony’s terrible meddling and the duo who wrote Transformers: The Last Knight. Anyone else REALLY nervous about Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man: Noir TV series? Sony really needs to just give the full rights to these characters back to Marvel. They’ve proven over and over again that they have no idea what to do with them.
They have still made Venom into multiple billion dollar successes. They aren't going to just not do a new venom series, they really can't afford NOT to do so . I just wonder if they've made enough with venom to offset their losses on the rest.

Yes, I am also deeply saddened by this as well...and I saw Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage as well in theaters. I knew it would be bad from the trailer, but they had to know they were butchering the Maximum Carnage storyline. They knew, and didn't care. They just knew they'd be making money off the name Carnage, and off the Venom Vs. Carnage battle fans had been wanting for YEARS. And it SUCKED. Venom 3, don't even bother. It's just Venom 2, but WORSE. The Venom movies only got worse and worse. Kraven is an uninteresting character already, and isn't interesting enough to carry his own movie. Nobody was asking for a Kraven Vs. The Rhino fight, it's just like Venom Vs. Carnage, or Morbius vs. Milo. It's a whole buildup that amounts to a whole fight of NOTHING. Nobody cared about The Foreigner Vs. Kraven fight, either. Nobody asked for it, and no one wanted it. Foreigner isn't a Kraven villain, he's probably barely even a Spider-Man villain. Rhino and Kraven ARE Spider-Man villains, but Web-Head isn't in the movie, so why bother?

it would be slightly worse than average, because technically average is 5.5. So 5 is basically mediocre. And therefore it's logical that 4 is where the bad starts, at least for me
0s dont HAVE to exist and you would hope that they dont. I dont even think a 0 is realistically on the scale, the worst things would probably be a 1. You're taking the idea of most review scales using 7 or 8 for average and never rating anything from 1-5 and trying to extrapolate it all the way to 0, a non-score. If a score represents "average" or slightly below or above average then most scores for multi-million dollar productions would fall within that range.

Pre- and post-Christmas releases are traditionally when studios shovel their worst flops out, aware they'll bomb and lose a fistful of money, but hoping to recoup some of the costs and not do too much reputational damage with audiences distracted by Christmas etc. This has all the marks of being another stinker, and ctitics are panning it globally.

What i dont get is WHY they keep making all these movies about SPIDERMAN VILLIANS.....WITHOUT SPIDERMAN! I mean they are TRYING to do the whole MCU thing where each character has their own movie BEFORE being brought into an actual Spiderman movie, but that DOES NOT WORK for JUST Spiderman. These characters need to be in a world interacting with SPIDERMAN. It doesn't have to be a spiderman movie, but they really should put spiderman in them. They could even do a movie from the perspective of the other characters.

What is up with Sony and rhinos? It reminds me of the procuder who wanted to have a huge spider in Superman movie. And then he produced Wild Wild West and that spider made it into the movie. Seems like some people in power have very weird ideas and nobody is there to stop them.

Pre- and post-Christmas releases are traditionally when studios shovel their worst flops out, aware they'll bomb and lose a fistful of money, but hoping to recoup some of the costs and not do too much reputational damage with audiences distracted by Christmas etc. This has all the marks of being another stinker, and ctitics are panning it globally.
Anytime I wanna see what they think of a movie off the bat, I just look at Alex’s face and it tells me everything I need to know.

They have good plots for these characters. Idk wtf theyre doing. It makes 0 sense to me.

@paulovinasrocha6166 The actors playing the character isn't an excuse for a shifty plot. If it's shit it's shit. Lol. The only difference between the Comics and an adaptation is the setting where everything happens. On pages, by actors and cameras. If the plot is trash it's trash, but I understand what you mean. I mean, just about any adaptation has been shit, but it's mostly because they distort it all so much that it's not even close to the actual story.
@@Dragon_Armada i meant in that today a comic character being done right is a coin toss. the kraven in ps5 spiderman 2 was one of the better adaptions of kraven.

What i dont get is WHY they keep making all these movies about SPIDERMAN VILLIANS.....WITHOUT SPIDERMAN! I mean they are TRYING to do the whole MCU thing where each character has their own movie BEFORE being brought into an actual Spiderman movie, but that DOES NOT WORK for JUST Spiderman. These characters need to be in a world interacting with SPIDERMAN. It doesn't have to be a spiderman movie, but they really should put spiderman in them. They could even do a movie from the perspective of the other characters.

If they're going to go that route, then they least they can do is hire someone passionate about the character to make the film. It could be low budget, like the 1994 Fantastic Four movie that was made simply to retain the license. That movie actually isn't too bad, because the people who made it really liked the characters, and it shows in the film.

Then, when they ALL collectively said: "It's Kraven Time!!" To both The Rhino and The Foreigner at the same TIME and kicked their asses! It was the best ending credits sequence since Deadpool & Wolverine, which was great! Still my favorite movie of this year...
