Worked at a dodge dealer and i met more happy 3.6 owners than v8. I distinctively remember an old man with a 300c 3.6 explaining to me how much he loved the 3.6 over his hemi he traded in. Don't know how much was truth but he told me he got 30mpg highway! That's insane for how big the 300c is. I'm at the end of my degree in automotive applied science and plan on buying a new challenger gt. Keep up the videos, you are getting better!
@Dog King well it depends...I actually supercharged my gt not to long ago it gets around 400hp...not the advertised 420hp...obviously and still gets around 26 or 27 gas mileage, remember the pentastar was originally designed to be supercharged...but man you have know idea the failure rate of the hemi...I know for a fact that your gonna disagree with me and thats understandable but the v6 are far more reliable than most hemi based of personal experiences...the amount of rt going into the shop due to blown cams and cracked cylinders...I lost count...but so far we never had a complaint about the pentastar...but it could just ve a Californian thing...but the v6 have proven to be more reliable than the v8 as they were designed to be...I can already feel the hate coming...than again it could be that hemi are generally gonna be driven to hell...
I have the SXT and transport a family of four on a regular basis. Gas mileage was a big factor, along with price. I really enjoy my SXT and it looks damn good. I dont drive on the track or go to drag strips. I love the car and its still fast enough to get a ticket.
I just traded in my Shaker RT Plus in for my GT Plus a week ago. It's way more fun to drive and gets 34-35 at 65, and over 40 @ 55 flat and level. Love my GT.
If you get pcm unlock , CAi, high flow catalytic converters, performance exhaust, throttle body you should get about 350 crank .and about 320 whp, torque I'm guessing around 300
The mopar intake is the way to go. Air intakes are just for looks and sound mostly. I bought this 1 and i end up taking it off because i felt like my car was running sluggish. Not only that but sound wise its not much different then stock.
Did you know that newer challengers have a Intake Temp reading in your gauge cluster. A good friend checked his Air Intake Temp before and after he did a CAI install on his 2020 challenger. It was checked with engine Cold and engine a full warm up temp. They CAI did not make a change in the ait intake temp compared to the stock set up NO CHANGE in the Intake air temp. The outside air temp before the CAI install was 74°. It was 73 to 74° after then install.
We're going to pull the trigger on this as the Summer ends. Thanks for the video! Lookin' in the rear view now over the last 5 years, what would you recommend for a 2022 Charger GT (v6) owner when it comes to cold-air intakes? I love the look of this one and just don't see nearly enough in the way of performance or sound comparisons on the Internet. Let us know and thanks again for the video!
I'm glad I went with my cheap $150 cold air I take, it arrived in 2 days, very simple to i tall, only took 35min, and it roars more than yours. I have to say tho, your intake looks sick
Nice vid. Just maybe this might be helpful but I was reading that a cold air intake doesn't really help much it would be a little bit cheaper to just get the hellcat bottom and tube and change ur lip going from ur throttle to ur box to the chargers and get a a good drop in filter . Cuz really u might get a little better throttle response but no enough hp to noticed. But hey everyone thinks different looks clean and sounds good man . I'm just going the hellcat route. I'll post some stuff on my Instagram and hopefully upload a install video
It also can depend on the one you get airaids are pretty good, don't get the 15hp it claims obviously but dynos show a decent 8hp increase but than you get crap cai like spectre which works for a bit but than the chrome piping heats up and pretty much defeats the purpose of a cai.
There was nothing "bolt on" with this set up. A lot of pieces were rather difficult to connect or place together. I used silicone/ lube for just about every grommet and coupling. I removed the clamps completely for installation. It was easier that way for me.
Glad I wasn’t the only one that thought this, just finished installed mine and it was painfully stiff in context with the grommets and couplings. Had to overall remove the clamps and reattach them after couplings were joined with hoses
How does a cold air intake affect the sound of the engine? I just don't understand how air moving through a tube is supposed to make an engine produce a different sound can someone explain to me please
ArcticAstrophysics its kind of the same with Exhausts if you think about it, stock exhausts is quite cuz of restriction, but straight piping it gives it a much louder sound by freeing the airflow
Shouldnt have put the box in first my guy. Attach the box to the first pipe and then attach the second pipe to the control unit. Then attach both in the middle. If your "garment" wasnt already broken, it would have when you were bending everything.
K&N and the Mopar brand ones are open air filters. They sound good but they don't help with performance much and may even hurt it due to the fact that they're sucking in heat from the engine bay. The stock airbox with a high flow filter is the best option to be completely honest but this one is decent too...The price is a little high though.
Pls answer. Hi i have a 2017 sxt pmus but dont have the performance page? How ? And i have seen aome challengers with the fog lights while mine dont? What am i missing out on?!?
So I have a 2018 Challenger GT and am looking into getting an intake for it, what makes thus intake so much better then say a K&N intake or the injen systems for the challenger?
Man that’s an amazing CAI. Planning to get one myself I have the same car as you. Can you drop a link from where you bought it? Or at least the name of this one? Also, for my exhaust I deleted the middle resonator and replaced it with 2 arrow performance mufflers (flow masters sound horrible on a v6) and then I straight piped it and let me tell you it sounds super mean.
I bought my 2011challenger rally sport package and tried k&n filter and lost my sound put the napa gold back in gained 0-60 time and sounds like a beast again i have never heard a v6 challenger sound like mine and it stays close to hemis allday 5.9 is my 0-60 time if get it perfect if spin get 6.1 or so time not sure why sounds so beastly i looked up mopar and shows that k have the rt exhaust not sure if original owner orderded with it but def moves for such a heavy car and corners so much better than my 2014 charger which feels like wants to roll if hit corner over 90l
the install requires very little time.(under a hour) and no effort at all. I've taken shits that required more effort than this install.. therefore, your comment is wrong
This is a What Not to do video: break parts, narrate foolish comments, not read directions, mispronounce simple words like Grommets. ( not garmets ) , and not knowing what you're doing throughout the video. Unsubscribed as fast as possible. Cost me brain cells watching this mess.

WiryOak I have v6 challenger and I get 29 to 31 mpg highway. I LOVE IT haha
I got the gt so I get 28 but still good to get good gas mileage and look good doing it!

Hey. I have a 2017 sxt challenger also. We both have the same things done but I have an exhaust and trust me it makes the car a lot more fun to drive.
Sxt guy what type of exhaust you got ?
Yea i got sxt wat kinda exoust
Titan9m do you have a video of your exhaust bro? I have a resonator delete and was either tryna get 44s or a solo exhaust
I recently purchased a 2020 sxt plus and added the flow master 44s and deleted the resonators. Videos on my page!
Me watching this 3 years later 😂
Me watching this 4 years later
Yea im watchin 4 years later
4 years here...
Yep
If you get pcm unlock , CAi, high flow catalytic converters, performance exhaust, throttle body you should get about 350 crank .and about 320 whp, torque I'm guessing around 300
eh. think those add 30 more whp?
Joe Pytrykow a guy with a throttle body, tune, CAI. Is getting 300 WHP. So i imagine its pretty easy.
Stock Sxts make 242-247whp you’re not making anywhere near 300whp with these mods 💀💀💀
@aristhegod7774 Sxt's get 290-300 whp. Any dyno testing shows this
The mopar intake is the way to go. Air intakes are just for looks and sound mostly. I bought this 1 and i end up taking it off because i felt like my car was running sluggish. Not only that but sound wise its not much different then stock.
You need to get a tune to make it work best
The only thing for me was i wanted a similar setup as the OEM filter box. Being closed off, so I went with AFE Power
Use Silicon spray to lubricate your parts NOT WD40...that will break down seals/plastics
Got a 2018 Challenger Destroyer Gray. Will be adding some of your mods for my Challenger.
Did you know that newer challengers have a Intake Temp reading in your gauge cluster.
A good friend checked his Air Intake Temp before and after he did a CAI install on his 2020 challenger. It was checked with engine Cold and engine a full warm up temp.

NO CHANGE in the Intake air temp.
The outside air temp before the CAI install was 74°. It was 73 to 74° after then
install.
Yeah, I noticed that when I had my charger, barely noticed a difference in temp too lol
The WD 40 isn't good for plastics that's why your grommet broke. It wears out the plastic
Aha thanks!!
We're going to pull the trigger on this as the Summer ends. Thanks for the video! Gotta live that drift life
Might be just me but it sounds the same
should of done it outside, not in a garage that echo's
You must be def
It clearly sounds different
Lol it's not supposed to sound different, as CAI are strictly for better airflow and are going to get sound from aftermarket exhaust pipes
No point n cold air intake if u don’t have a turbo or supercharger
You should get magnaflow catback quad exhaust. I started with that one as my first performance mod.
Just put one on my RT and it has a better throttle response and idk how many extra ponies it's giving me but that take off seem better
I'm glad I went with my cheap $150 cold air I take, it arrived in 2 days, very simple to i tall, only took 35min, and it roars more than yours. I have to say tho, your intake looks sick
Do you know the brand an model of that $150 intake you have?
Must be a spectre
Did your Fuel Economy go down once you had it installed, or has it remained the same (MPG)?
What exhaust you running dude? Sounds clean
Nice vid. Just maybe this might be helpful but I was reading that a cold air intake doesn't really help much it would be a little bit cheaper to just get the hellcat bottom and tube and change ur lip going from ur throttle to ur box to the chargers and get a a good drop in filter . You can probably find a suitable grommet at the auto parts store.
It also can depend on the one you get airaids are pretty good, don't get the 15hp it claims obviously but dynos show a decent 8hp increase but than you get crap cai like spectre which works for a bit but than the chrome piping heats up and pretty much defeats the purpose of a cai.

lol nice intro man . so some of those for intro
*do
Right lol
K&N's cold air filter is cheaper and much better made and better rated, why didn't you by that one ?
This is a much better unit. The K&N isn't sealed so you get hot air coming in.
Kn also uses metal tubing which carries over heat. Afe uses nontemp plastics.
How does a cold air intake affect the sound of the engine? I just don't understand how air moving through a tube is supposed to make an engine produce a different sound can someone explain to me please
ArcticAstrophysics its kind of the same with Exhausts if you think about it, stock exhausts is quite cuz of restriction, but straight piping it gives it a much louder sound by freeing the airflow
does this void the warranty?
Shouldnt have put the box in first my guy. Attach the box to the first pipe and then attach the second pipe to the control unit. Then attach both in the middle. If your "garment" wasnt already broken, it would have when you were bending everything.
Do you have a video of you adding the extra part to release the hot air from the engine ???
The blow off valve?
Oil catch can might be another good mod
most sports cars dont have them, our v6s def dont need em lol
Install mine yesterday but now my air conditioner is not blowing right.any ideas what u did wrong?
Did you get it fixed?
So what mods should I do on my challenger other than an intake?
How much horsepower you gain
I r s grommet, not garmet
Subbed @ 1k and dope video man
Awesome video......
I don’t see how this is doing anything other than changing the air filter with a k&n. High flow air filter in a filter box. Same. Same.
You could’ve gotten A k&n for that price and the one from Mopar were the better then one you have
K&N and the Mopar brand ones are open air filters. They sound good but they don't help with performance much and may even hurt it due to the fact that they're sucking in heat from the engine bay. The stock airbox with a high flow filter is the best option to be completely honest but this one is decent too...The price is a little high though.
@@Fade2BlackSS gotta a link?
How do feel after the install , i lost low end torque after installing my airaid intake
Mohanad hamad Loving it so far, it feels like I gained some low to mid range torque
Can I leave the engine cover off ??
Ya
Pls answer. Hi i have a 2017 sxt pmus but dont have the performance page? How ? And i have seen aome challengers with the fog lights while mine dont? What am i missing out on?!?
To get performance pages on our cars you have to buy an aftermarket programmer I got the Z automotive tazer for $250
The02CumminsRAM thanks man. I appreciate it. Any way to add those fog lights?
Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback!
was your intake hole in the front covered by the clear headlight housing?
Do you need the sensor?
Zip ties fix everything lol
Do you still have this intake?
very helpful
So I have a 2018 Challenger GT and am looking into getting an intake for it, what makes thus intake so much better then say a K&N intake or the injen systems for the challenger?
Nothing really apart from you're definitely paying for a brand
How is this any different than the stock air box what you should have done was get a k&n cold air intake they make one for your car
Love the channel bro
You car got an active exhaust?
Where can I get this ??
Can you put shaker on it?
How did you do that with your phone so it shows what your recording?
GoPro app does that.
Will it fit for a 2015?
Yep, 2015+ are all the same
The02CumminsRAM thank you. Your Car is looking good. Checked out all your other vids 👍 keep it up!
Guess we won’t be seeing you supercharge this car😔
You're criticizing the product yet look how you treat it.
Thanks I needed a good laugh today
Man that’s an amazing CAI. Planning to get one myself I have the same car as you. Can you drop a link from where you bought it? Or at least the name of this one? Also, for my exhaust I deleted the middle resonator and replaced it with 2 arrow performance mufflers (flow masters sound horrible on a v6) and then I straight piped it and let me tell you it sounds super mean.
Hey! Did you notice any increase in power? Thanks
I had to quit watching. Your camera bouncing all over gave me a headache.
not really
Ok then don’t watch tf
Will this fit in my 2016 challenger sxt? And if so can I get a link?
Use zip ties for the part you broke or call the company and ask for a new one. Sounds the same nice car but you should trade it for a R/T
I got the same exhaust on my challenger white 2016 sxt plus
0-60 run
Go to the dealer they have the gromets
Nice 😎
I bought my 2011challenger rally sport package and tried k&n filter and lost my sound put the napa gold back in gained 0-60 time and sounds like a beast again i have never heard a v6 challenger sound like mine and it stays close to hemis allday 5.9 is my 0-60 time if get it perfect if spin get 6.1 or so time not sure why sounds so beastly i looked up mopar and shows that k have the rt exhaust not sure if original owner orderded with it but def moves for such a heavy car and corners so much better than my 2014 charger which feels like wants to roll if hit corner over 90l
This was too painful to watch
Do a 0-60 run!
$405?!?! From where? Autoanything said they will give me a price match warranty.
Why pay $405 for a CAI I bought mine for 180 and it does the same thing. All your paying for with this one is all the plastic molding and the air box
Lol.... I think he was to assemble it 1st before installing it
Hi!
xavier mosqueda good morning!
A little advice .... save what you took off .
will it void your warranty? or if you do a smog test?
Nope as long as you unmarry the programmer
noooo...should have went with the hellcat intake...your dough your car...enjoy
Kenneth Noble K-No can you get it?
Can you say struggle bus, should have followed the instructions
I actually want to see a catch can video just a aying
The HP gains are negligible. Not even worth the time or effort.
the install requires very little time.(under a hour) and no effort at all. I've taken shits that required more effort than this install.. therefore, your comment is wrong
Don’t mean shit if it ain’t tuned
Bra you where getting me so iterated
David Holmes you illiterate
How not to install a air intake system!
Supercharge it bro
zap strap it bro
$400 hell I got one for $175
Lmg_bangbang really was it good if so where did you get it and will it fit a 2017 Dodge Charger
Lovens Dorismar yes Go to car ID.com Is going to give you 20 hp
😂😂😂😂😂
Way too long, you can do better.
You skipped key parts of the install like what were you doing just trying to put content out horrible video
This is a What Not to do video: break parts, narrate foolish comments, not read directions, mispronounce simple words like Grommets. ( not garmets ) , and not knowing what you're doing throughout the video. Unsubscribed as fast as possible. Cost me brain cells watching this mess.
lol shit was cracking me up the time with the garmints 😂
How much power did it add?
Do you still have this intake?
