I remember seeing the sparkle in someone's hair, sitting in front of me, on a cruise. That was 15 years and last year I wanted to do something to my hair. My hairdresser had just begun offering! I had tinsel placed in my hair for the holidays! That sudden sparkle makes me smile, I love them. I can’t imagine not having them. She uses one hair and one strand of tinsel! They stay in for weeks. I did purchase the kit. I love the way Victoria uses the beads. That is my emergency fallback.
Thank god I found this.. I have 4 year old twin daughters who have been wanting to wear the big pack of fairy hair I purchased for them. I couldn’t get it in no matter how many videos I’ve watched. This is the most clear, thorough, and easy tutorials. Thank you so much for making this!
Here it is 2024 and we had a bunch of senior ladies where I live get tinsel in our hair using same technique! We are having a ball haha! And yep we are never too old for this! I turn 65 this week and we had one lady almost 100 years old get them!
An idea for when applying, try to either place the end by the part of use a piece of sturdy paper or cardboard on top of your hair and hold down tight so when you are cutting the tinsel the paper is protecting your hair and you won't cut it. I hope I explained that good. lol. Love the way your hair turned out, so pretty.
This is so cute! I would have never thought to do this on my own. What a great idea :) Love your content, I love all things beauty as well!! Just subscribed!
Danika Christine MUA thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it :) I seriously LOVE doing this haha it was a huge fad in high school but I couldn’t afford to go get it done so I figured it out on my own and since then I have been so excited to show everyone else! It is just a little joy in life 😋 especially around the holidays it’s fun to add a little sparkle. thank you for subscribing! 💕
I'm super late to the party, but if you're looking for this at Joann or other craft stores, it's rolls of thread found in the sewing section, not tinsel. Sulky is the brand and Sliver Metallic (not silver) is this particular holographic kind of thread. (sorry if this sounds like I'm mansplaining)
Im curious i just bought some for my daughters.....how do you keep your tinsel organized? How do you not get pieces tangled when you dont use all of the same color.....
I loved your video!’ You’re so pretty!! And your hair looks amazing, I’m ordering everything right now to recreate this on my hair, I’ll send you a picture once I do it. Thank youuu! ❤️🤩✨✨✨⚡️ I can’t wait to do this on my sister’s hair too 👯♀️
Oh my gosh you are so kind!! Thank you so much for saying all of that! Absolutely made my night 🥰 thank you for watching! 💕Yes!! Can’t wait to see how it goes ✨ You will have so much fun with it. Sparkles are the best haha
I want to do this to my hair so bad! Thank you so much for the video! Unfortunately, I couldn't find the tinsel online at Joann Fabrics. :( But, thank you so much for all of the links! I will try the amazon ones. :D
I can’t wait to see what you do and what colors you put in😍 you will have so much fun with this!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 so glad you found the amazon ones helpful :)
I know I am in my 50’s and am sometimes like I am so old for this but if I had know about this 30 years ago I would have done it!!! Why can’t I now?!?!
This tutorial was so good! I’m glad I came across it. I tried tieing the tinsel in but it would never stay and it took too long. I purchased all of the tools you used and it worked amazing. You can find the beads and the pliers on Amazon ! Thanks so much you’re so pretty
Yay!! I’m so glad it was easy to follow! Seriously one of my favorite videos on my channel haha! It is SO fun to have a little sparkle in your hair 😍 happy it worked for you! And thank you 🥰
Jenn Yaretzi thank you!! It’s so fun. Seriously one of my favorite things to do to my hair haha 😂 it’s super easy, since it’s connected to only a few strand you can either just cut it or I usually just grip the roots and slide it off.
I finally got around to buying the kit you suggest getting and I’ve had a bunch of hair tinsel for years (I didn’t realize how hard it would be to put in hair) just sitting in a cabinet, so I thought I was good to go. However, I just tried it on myself and I suck. How long did it take you to get the hang of this? I am trying on myself but I really want to do it for my twin daughters who have been requesting “fairy hair” forever. Thanks again for this tutorial; I feel like Amazon needs to give you a cut of the sales of the kit! Also, know that any views or monetary compensation you receive in the next few days is almost certainly from me watching this video over and over again!
Oh my gosh haha this comment made my day!! I’m so glad you are enjoying watching so much ☺️ Honestly it took quite a few tries 🙈 practicing on other people helped, maybe a friend would like to try it out before you test it on the twins? It’s one of those things where it takes a bit to get it down but once it clicks it’s quick and easy. And thank you for buying the kit through my link!! I actually am Amazon Affiliate so I do get a commission, it’s only a super small percentage though so every bit is appreciated🥰
Don't anyone worry about being "too old" for something. I've seen women in their fifties rocking hair tinsels and grannies rocking a super cool violet hair die. Guys rocking glitter tattoos and pink pashminas. Looking gorgeous is a matter of self confidence, not age or gender.
I apologize for spamming your video with my comments but I realize that my issue is getting the tinsel to stay in the clip and then getting the bead to touch the scalp before closing it to give it a secure fit. Do you have any tips on how to get better at this? I have been doing it on myself only because my twins are not good at sitting still so I’m hoping to get better before having an undoubtedly frustrating experience trying to get the tinsel in the hair of my girls. Thanks!
No apology necessary! I love that you are so determined to get it down! :) I just get it as close as possible, it doesn’t always lay right against the scalp. Closest is best so there’s less chance of it snagging on a hairbrush, but sometimes it slips a bit and the best you can do it just get close haha that just might mean it won’t last as long, but it should still stay a while. Also making sure the hair is taunt where you clip the tinsel helps in getting the bead where you want it. I noticed if the hair gets loose where the clip is it makes it harder to be more precise. Hope that helps :) sending you good vibes!! You’ll nail it soon 🙌🏼
@@Victoria_Leone okay, I have figured out what is preventing me from getting it close enough to my scalp that it won’t get tugged when brushing my hair! I don’t know how to get the bundle of tinsel into the clip, clip it in, and not have it fall out while I’m trying to get the strands of hair and the bead on. Do you have any advice on how to put the tinsel in the clip? I’ve watched your video at least 5 times today alone, lol. I do realize that a lot of my initial errors were from being too eager to try it out and skipping important parts which include pulling the rest of your hair back, and I was attempting to bury the tinsel deep in my hair which makes it not visible and just more difficult to do. I think if I can get the tinsel in the clip and have the bead go up to the knot, it will work. Right now, I have the knot higher than the bead in an attempt to keep it from falling out of the clip but it causes me to put the bead too low. When you tie the tinsel into a knot, do you trim the excess off? I realize that I’m tying the knot with a lot of extra tinsel above the knot and that could also be part of the problem. If you have any advice I would appreciate it but I completely understand if you can’t understand anything I just said because I’m not even sure if what I said makes sense. I think I just need to figure out how to get the tinsel to stay in the clip and exactly where to position the knot in the clip. Sorry for another rambling message; I think I’ve probably said the words clip and knot to cover both of our lifetimes!!
I understand what you’re saying! Yes I trim the extra above the knot otherwise it gets in the way. I place it directly in the middle of the clip. If you’d like you can pm me on Instagram and I can send you a photo of what I mean :)
Haha thanks!! I just love the sparkle, it’s fun 😋 You can remove them super easy! Either take pliers and pinch them the opposite as before to open the bead back up, or just slide them down the hair. I usually just slide them off, it’s faster 🙈
You’re never too old for fairy hair. I met a woman in her ‘80’s that looked fabulous with it in her hair.

I’m 63, white and gray hair with silver tinsel! I get so many compliments! Just fun!
It’s sooo fun!!!

Imma do this for New Years.

nice tutorial , never thought about tieing the tinsel and use a clip so it’s easier to do the bead part
So so pretty thank you!!

I came to the comments looking specifically for this so thank yoooou
Im curious i just bought some for my daughters.....how do you keep your tinsel organized? How do you not get pieces tangled when you dont use all of the same color.....
I got a little organizer tub from Joann Fabrics :)
This looks so much easier than how I do it,but how do you go about brushing your hair and washing it bc of the bead? Thanks xoxo
I just brush and wash as normal :) I am more mindful of where the bead is, but it usually doesn’t get caught in the brush 🙌🏼
Please show me how to do a slipknot slowly please cause I'm on my own

haha yes why not!! its fun at any age!
How do you take the beads out?
You can use the pliers to squeeze them the other way and loosen it or just gently slide them off
Can we curles with tinsel?
Definitely!!

@@Victoria_Leone Thank you so much! It looks perfect for Christmas or anytime. Also you should always were tinsel as long as it brings you joy.

Do you no where I would get the rolls of tinsel?
Heidi M You should be able to find them at a craft store :) I got them at Joann Fabrics, but I imagine other stores similar may have them as well.
my hair: slide using clip ins
Demasiado complicao.
I think if you use hair tape you'd probably think it's acceptable to still wear it
I'm 35 and I will rock these until I'm nomore.
Hahah I love that we feel the same way 🤣❤️
anyone know when she gets to the fucking point?
😂 I thort the same
I think the problem is you talk too much and it gets boring
Thanks for the feedback!
this is so confusing
