It’s estimated there are around 3,500,000,000,000 fish in the sea. Those fish are also constantly repopulating making more fish. All you snowflakes know nothing.

As much as I want this to be true, almost all fish you eat at your table is caught this way. If this was illegal, then the fish you like (or people like) would cost 10x as much. This is how fish gets to people's table cheap. If you want this to stop, people need to stop eating fish. It's that simple. If there's less of a demand for fish, more fish will stay in the sea.

They should fish like they do on that Tuna show or set floating fish traps that don't entangle the fish or other sea life, just corrals it so there is no by-catch harm. Long liners, Purse netting and bottom trawlers need to go. Seafood will be more expensive, but it will still be available. They should also limit the number of commercial licenses and or catch quotas.

@@mynamenowhastobeasecret.2079 The journal Science published a four-year study in November 2006, which predicted that, at prevailing trends, the world would run out of wild-caught seafood in 2048. The scientists stated that the decline was a result of overfishing, pollution and other environmental factors that were reducing the population of fisheries at the same time as their ecosystems were being annihilated. Reefs are also being destroyed by overfishing because of the huge nets that are dragged along the ocean floor while trawling. Many corals are being destroyed and as a consequence, the ecological niche of many species is at stake.

I was a Tuna Fisherman in the late 70s into the early 80s and had to quit because I could not deal with the indiscriminate killing of non tuna fish that took place. An old Italian Fisherman named Vito said the invention of Nylon fishing nets was going to be the end of many different species of fish. Tuna are the least affected because they spend only 10% of their life on the surface of the ocean. Other species such Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Sharks and Dophins are killed as a by product of this type of fishing. This video reminds me of these bad practices.

Ocean is way more bigger then land. If 7.6 billion human and countless billions of other species live on land. Imagine sea how much population of sea creatures is in sea.

I eat salmon, halibut and trout. All of which I catch myself. I’m not one against commercial fishing but seeing that ginormous net packed full was a little eye opening. Not by itself, but I’m sure the process happens thousands of times a day all over the world

It's nearly the ending phases for this type of fishing, it's been devastating for the resources of fish stock's the past 50 year's It has changed the ocean's eco system .Stop now.

Unfair !!!! That’s what I can say. Unfair for small poor fisherman, nature , fish, other sea creatures which are dependent on fish for their food.

Mining and Lumber can be controlled. But commercial Fishing can be curtailed by not eating free range fish from the big 3 Oceans. Pacific, Atlantic and Indian.

Relax my man! There is regulations on how much the can catch and plus there contracted out and they must meet a certain quota for the buyers. There is a certain time of the year there allowed to fish and once the quota is met they must legally stop fishing or there's some serious fines the captain and boat owner will receive.

It’s called commercial fishing. It’s a business. They catch the fish process them and sell them. These men, ships and businesses are what supply restaurants and grocery stores. They don’t just fish for themselves they fish for hundreds for thousands of people. They catch a few hundred thousand fish. That’s nothing. It’s estimated there are around 3,500,000,000,000 fish in the sea. Those fish are also constantly repopulating making more fish. All you snowflakes know nothing.
