This is one of the best videos breaking down how to meet people and build your network. It's explained in a clear way with good examples, and I'll be sharing this with everyone in the future who asks me "how do I make connections" because if they can't do it after listening to this, then I don't know how to help them.
49:18 - I'm all in for more greg side quest stories
:)
You both need elgato promoters or similar 😂. This was a great one. I’ve been in the live music industry for 30+ years and love hearing stories like this. Artists are people too. Funny how most fans think their idols are so untouchable. Most don’t even try. As long as you don’t come off creepy and bring value to the conversation you have a chance of life changing moments. Thanks guys for taking the time. Appreciate you both.
A someone coming from a brick and mortar business background (started and sold a brewery), but currently working on a community based business, this content has been gold. Definitely going to implement some of these strategies!
Ahh thanks for letting me know!
This is my first comment on RUclips. Thank you!!
Great episode, guys. Love this format and reckon you should keep it up.
I spoke to a couple of other founder friends who listen to the pod.
We all agree that the best way to use these episodes is by either deep-diving into specific aspects of how Greg does certain things (like this episode) or a deep-dive into an actionable case study of how you can apply certain Greg methods to real-life examples. For instance, the Noah Kagan example towards the end could've been a standalone episode with a step-by-step process.
Some content ideas that might be interesting:
1) Deep dive into Greg's daily schedule / Productivity habits
2) How Greg spots trends
3) How Greg got his first 1000 users for any of his businesses and what he would do differently
Anyway, I absolutely love the pivot the pod made. You killed it, Greg.
And Jonathan, you got some fire ideas. It's so awesome to have found you through the pod. I hope you continue doing these segments.
This is literally ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS you could've made Greg. A reach out can literally change someone's life and you've just saved us from the thousand cuts of ignorance.
Love this, you're awesome.
you're awesome!
I like this format. You guys vibe well together.
You are the person I would have loved to meet and I managed to talk to you !! At your great startup brainstorm sessions ;) Recommended to everyone watching this video.
Someone else I look up to in my field wrote me after I visited his Linkedin profile saying he loves the shoes of the company I work for. I told him let's talk so that I can pick up his brain on his expertise topic.
After watching this video I see I made one mistake but I also offered him a discount on his next pair ;)
To make it up and to make him smile I just shared with his the meme you created with Victoria Beckham :)
Keep doing content like this! Insanely valuable stuff here, Greg & Jonathan :)
ty for sharing great tips guys!
It’s amazing to realize how much the internet has made it easier for ppl to connect.
What’s even more surprising is that most people don't know this power.
I'm a nobody and I dm people. Some respond and some don't. I also sometimes look up people's cell number and shoot a casual text. Works sometimes too.
I listen to this podcast on 1.75x and then it's normal speed hahah. I learn something from every episode tho. Great episode!
:)
Surpising how fast platforms move, i just saw this video and went to twitter and twitter pops up "Your Likes Are Now Private" which means we cant see now what other people like from their profile
ha, moves so quick!
David, your relentless pursuit of growth through self-discipline and embracing discomfort is truly inspiring! Continuously pushing beyond our limits is the cornerstone of not just surviving but thriving. 🚀
Is David your secret name Greg?
Hahahahaaa oh man
Thank you great episode ❤
As a bona fide fly on the wall, I can say there is so much value in the whole podcast but a precious nugget is at 24:29 - 26:29.
Those 2 minutes - so much value. Jo brings so much insight
P.S. BTW Greg, took a meeting with Boring Marketing today. Great work!
Appreciate that! I just got off recording with Jonathan on a new episode. Episode coming later this week!
You cannot disrespect this man's grind, he is inevitable
Engineering digital serendipity - love the tips and it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
this was soooooo goooood!
I bet you hear this a ton. Love the content you put out--it's really helped me in my journey. I live in Miami also, would be cool to hang sometime
Great episode ❤️🔥
cool episode great topic and v relevant for me in this moment
Incredibly timely topic for me. Re-thinking how I DM’d Kevin Rose last week 😅
*Another banger!* Greg can you pls do a pod on your writing style, with resources. Thanks!
Good idea!
@@theunscheduledceo Sam and Shaan from MFM did an ep on writing. It was good, but could’ve been a lot better. High chance Greg’s ep on writing would go, at least, semi-viral.
This was really great! Question... As someone who has not been active on Twitter in years and who has a much larger following on LinkedIn, would you recommend A) using the platform you have the most social proof on to reach out through, B) just doing the work to build up a decent presence on Twitter regardless and focus there or C) Identify which platform your targets are most active on and scale presence/activity accordingly?
It’s not that rich and powerful people give out their number so easily. It’s that the type of people that are that trusting and down to earth are the ones who become rich and powerful 😂 ask me how I know !! ❤❤❤
this format feels more like content market fit
What does content market fit mean in this context?
One 50 year old company manufacturing india filter coffee which is world number 2 cofee made by arabica this is great venture to franchisee it with indias little snacks.
Sweet axe! Looks like an Epiphone, with possibly "mod'd" truss cover and tuners. RUclips first (only insofar as I have noticed, anyway) recommended to me a video of yours, over the weekend. Have yet to dive into your catalog. Pretty exceptional content, you've got here, among so much BS. RUclips has unfortunately fallen victim to what appears to be an entire movement of superficiality, money fetishizing trash. THIS situation is WORSE than that which we all now know far too well, when we seek/have sought out original, official media, only to instead face a barrage of terrible, trolling, sh!t-posting remix-trash. And THAT aspect of RUclips, if no longer the case, was in MY view, a SERIOUS problem lmfao. High quality content, here. You most assuredly deserve, as you have skillfully summoned ALL the success that comes your way.
thank you and welcome to the channel!
this was fun
Great episode guys.
Very helpful.
Can we see the loom video pitch
Its a bit embarrassing haha
Yessssss🎉
@@theunscheduledceowe’ll be the judge of that 😂🎉🎉🎉
This content is so informative, bullshit-free and to the point. You guys pair very well, I want MORE!
These advice are great if the person you want to target is on Twitter and contributing to social media but a hassle if they are not posting anything.
The biggest impact you can have when cold-DMing someone on LinkedIn for example is showing that you take a genuine interest in the carrier path of the person you want to talk to -- 99,9% of cold LinkedIn messages are copy/paste and this is your competition. Adding a personal note WILL dramatically increases your answer rate.
And go to the point, no "I hope you have a great day" and no 300 words paragraph on who you are, SHOW you can bring value, don't TELL.
Summary:
- be non-needy
- be genuinely interested in them
- make it easy for them to say yes
- add value just because
- attract the right attention through creative activity
- reach out and follow up
100% we don’t care about you guys having a conversation, looking at each other.. we’re adults who know we’re flies on the wall observing you guys having a natural conversation. It would be weird for you to look into the camera at us for the sake of - looking at the viewers. For sure that would be breaking the 4th wall 😂
you dont know how much i appreciate this comment!!
By the way Greg, did you make the sipping time song with UDIO?
