Great info! Thank you for sharing as always. When I was racing I was big into weight reduction (seat removals etc), but these days I'd rather just run the car as it is. I do remember loving the SSM lift bars though.
Hey Sleazy!! For years I ran a racing seat, although it was lighter, it was sure uncomfortable...lol I didn't really take much out of the car. For a while I had a spare tire filled full of water. It placed approximately 70 additional pounds over the rear wheels vs a stock spare which was about 26lbs. These days it's just nice to turn the key and go! Happy New Year to you and your family!
Really great video Todd. Good information about the lower arms and anti-squat brackets. I’ll be addressing mine here shortly over the winter. I hope you had a great Christmas 🎄
Depends on the surface you're racing on. If you have plenty of traction, no need in carrying all that extra weight around. Slick airport runway, yep. Dragstrip surface, probably not.
Hi, I definitely agree with yiu on the surface conditions. It's very seldom that I've been able to see a fully prepped track, but would love to see what my car could do on one. Thanks for watching!
Hey @ogsuperflygarage! I like using any of the online ET/Hp calculators to help figure things out. But the real world is always different... I wish I knew even half of what the seasoned drag racers knew... My car seems to like the extra weight over the rear wheels...otherwise I just sit and spin. Merry Christmas Brother. Hope you and your family are having a beautiful holiday season!!!👍👍🎄
@@306foxbody1 I hear ya! Seems like every car has it's own personality so to speak!😅Thank you Brother! Hope you enjoy the time off with your family! 🎉👊🏾Try not to eat to much... I always do this time of year! 😂
Hey Donald! Thanks so much! We hardly have any snow, temperatures have only been just below freezing, and I got to sleep in, so life is good! I can't wait to start pulling wrenches on the car again in the new year. Spring will be here before we know it!!!👍👍
Hi, In 2005 I had it in Saskatoon Saskatchewan 's SIR Dragstrip, a d with a fresh 351w, a Procharger P600B pushing 8-1/2 psi, and no official tuning, it ran 11.24 at over 124mph. In 2015, it has gone 6.99 @99mph in the 1/8th mile at a local airport dragrace event. I hope to get it back to a drag strip in the next couple years. Thanks for watching!👍👍
6.99@99 is a 10.90 in the 1/4, not bad at all for an unprepped surface. 124 mph is good for 10.60-10.70s with a 1.4x 60’…. But you know how that goes… what they “should do” is usually harder to obtain then what they “actually do”. Lol. Keep up the good work. New sub here.
Hi @Lx50trunk, I purchased these anti squat brackets from Western Motorsports in Calgary Alberta probably 25 years ago. I'm glad I saved them. They work great...and can't wait to put them back on the car. Thanks for watching!👍👍
wanna improve your Foxbodie's times? drop a hellcat drivetrain in one. we have a dragstrip close by that has an extremely quick hellcat/Foxbody that gets loud boos from the Ford fanboys
Lol! I admit, I would never put a Hellcat drive train into a Fox, but I would never blame a guy for doing it. They are an absolute beast! Any boosted LS/Coyote/Mopar would drive absolutely amazing. Just looking at the weight difference between something like that and a Hellcat. That's good for several 10ths right there. I bet the owner of that car is likely having a blast with it! Thanks for commenting. I hope I can find that car on RUclips, if not, I'm sure someone posted one similar to it. It's like guys that put a Ford engine in a GM. It doesn't happen often, but of course it does happen! Lol👍👍

You're very knowledgeable about drag racing Todd! That is a great calculator you used! I have often wondered why guys took out their spare tire too!

How quick has the 86’ been in the 1/4?

Are those anti squat brackets made by Kenny Brown Performance?

@@306foxbody1the Kenny brown brackets look identical. I’m definitely gonna pick up at set now after watching your video. Keep up the great content 👍
Is that a real Saleen? If so what number?
Hi David, Yes it is a real Saleen, 86 #127. Thanks!
