    There are some comments spelling out the alignment system, but I would honestly mostly ignore it. If you make decisions in the game that are congruent with your ideals, then the protagonist's alignment should naturally align with your own. It's a system that's not explained by the game on purpose, it's supposed to work behind the scenes. Just think carefully about each decision you make and decide each one based on your ideals, don't worry about trying to influence things in a particular direction.

  • @koopliss
    @koopliss 5 дней назад +8

    gonna echo some of the other comments, Return of the true demon is... kinda a very special sidequest, to put it lightly. It's pretty much the only sidequest that is *more or less* done throughout the whole game, so now that you are past its level, it's recommend to go ahead and start it when you can, and then just sorta do stages of it as they come up. Definitely has some good rewards.

    I enjoy the Megaten series (Shin Megami Tensei, Devil Survivor, etc.) partly because it lets you make your own choices and without really explaining the alignment system.
    There isn't a good or evil side when it comes to angels and demons. You just make choices and pick a side given the information you have. There are times the world gets destroyed, other times humanity loses all free will or maybe you come to a different solution. You never really know until it's all said and done.

    13:00 Another reminder that this pass isn't needed. As long as you still have blinking icons by the time you come around to your next weakness hit (which would be the MC in this case) the pass gets you nothing. Better off to use Mahama there. The next time your turn comes around is evidence of that, when you have her use the Amrita Soda, which was definitely the right move there. (I feel like I should stop complimenting Evan; it's going to go to his head.)
    16:35 Y'all get it. SMT games are all about alignment, Law vs. Chaos, and none of them are truly 100% "right" or perfect. There's always a flaw in the world they want to create. No ideology is perfect. Most often, you're picking the least-bad option.
    24:20 I won't. Elementals are actually great to fuse because they make it easier to get very specific demons later (basically when you fuse an elemental with another demon, you move it up or down the hierarchy of that demon type, so fusing Flammis with a Vile type demon will just get you a different Vile, etc.) They're garbo in combat usually, but they're great for opening up fusion.

  • @Lutyrannus
    @Lutyrannus 5 дней назад +1

    53:49 - I think one of the causes of the few times you mess up the press-turn system is that you think of it as "giving you a press turn" when in reality it's more like "only using half of a turn." Getting the flashing icons absolutely lets you have more actions during a turn, but it's a lot more fruitful to think of it as using up half of a turn rather than gaining an extra one, and you can use the remaining half of that turn later. That's why at maximum, if you hit weakness/critical/etc on every press turn, you can only double your actions, and no more.

    It's hard to know what the "right" thing to do in these moral dilemma sidequests due to the lack of consequential data (you had no idea if Lilim was evil for example).
    It's a little bit generic but I do like how morality is explored here. The game isn't judging you for making a choice eitherway (thank you, Yoko ~).

    • @Lutyrannus
      @Lutyrannus 5 дней назад +6

      I think the lack of information is intentional, too. They clearly want to test who the player is willing to trust. The willingness to trust angelic order because of its assumed inherently good nature, or the willingness to give in to demonic chaos because of their desire to fight against the established order. Choosing which side you believe is just as much a part of the player's ideals as the actual ideologies espoused by the characters themselves.

    You should be good enough to fight the weakest of the Four Gods (Xuan Wu) and for that quest "The True Demon" if you want to deal with them next episode.
    EISHETH'S MYTHOLOGICAL LORE:
    The name "Eisheth Zenuim" means "Woman of Whoredom." In Kabbalah, she is sometimes seen as the princess of Qliphoth who rules over Gamaliel, the reverse of the Sefirot Yesod, though Lilith sometimes fills this role instead. As Yesod is the node of the Tree of Life that represents foundation, enabling both connection and movement, Gamaliel represents an impure or hindered form of this process. In mythology, she is said to eat cursed souls. Calling it salvation, she attacks humans and steals their souls.

  • @michaeltsang1748
    @michaeltsang1748 5 дней назад +2

    Most people usually eat away their problems. Eisheth believes in eating the problem.
    Also, everyone is saying to do the True Demon Quest. Considering your level now and how you've been playing.
    The fight should be...fair.
    It was originally dlc in the base game, and you'll unlock new demons to fuse, with good skills. After doing a battle, another purple pillar of lighting will appear on the map leading you to the next fight. Take on the challenge and face death, if you dare.

    Wanted to clarify some things about some skills and their math:
    Bloody Glee: This skill is genuinely bad. The crit bonus is a +3%. There is an upgraded version later that is a +15%.
    Beast Eye: This skill provides a +15% bonus to hit and later there is an upgrade that increases to 30%. They stack but you probably don't want to waste the slots unless you are making a demon who uses attacks noted as inaccurate. Those have a base 50% chance to hit.
    Charge: it is less useful in this game than others like Persona because it only gives a 1.7 multiplier in exchange for sacrificing a turn. Later though there are worthwhile upgrades and a version that can be used on other party members. There is also an item which gives charge meaning that there is even less reason to waste a skill slot on it.

    I just wanted to comment that quests are more important than you think. They actually impact on your alignment which in turn affects the ending you get. For example siding with Lillim gets you closer to the chaos side, meanwhile principality is law side, I think the same can be said for dialogue options like when you say things that Tao likes but Yoko disagrees and vice versa but I’m not that sure and guides aren’t that far anyway. So I recommend that you think carefully about the choices you make in order to have the ending you like. Also to know your current alignment you must go the overworld in fake Tokyo, if you icon spins counterwise you are chaos, if it spins normal you are law and staying still it’s neutral.

    • @Lutyrannus
      @Lutyrannus 5 дней назад +6

      I would argue that it's a spoiler to explain this. Obviously it's stuff most SMT fans know but the game is obscure about these things intentionally, it's supposed to make the games narrative unfold organically and when the alignment system is spelled out by someone like this it removes a lot of organic nature. People think ahead about what ending they want to get rather than making decisions based on their ideals.

    • @brandonvaldez8113
      @brandonvaldez8113 5 дней назад +1

      @@LutyrannusSorry it wasn’t my intention, I just wanted to help and make sure they get an ending they feel satisfied instead of being catch off guard. It was never my intention to give that impression, if it becomes a problem I will delete my comment, again I’m sorry.

    • @Lutyrannus
      @Lutyrannus 5 дней назад +1

      @@brandonvaldez8113 nah you don't need to apologize, it's all good. It's pretty subjective whether or not it counts as a spoiler. There are definitely some people who don't want to play games with alignment systems organically because they feel caught off guard when they realize they were choosing their endings the entire time and didn't even realize it, and those types of people probably want to be informed of the system ahead of time. Others like to play through it entirely blind and just let the story organically and naturally unfold however it may based on their decisions. It's ultimately up to Pixel Partners in this situation, and we obviously have no clue of knowing just *how* blind they want to play games like this. Ultimately I'm sure they're used to pseudo-spoilers in comments based on how long they've been playing games on this channel so I'm sure they were either expecting comments like this and if they want to avoid them they may have systems in place to prevent one or both of them from being spoiled by the comments.

    10:55 If you want to claim mortality here the correct option is probably to not complete either quest. Don't murder the Lilim who just want safety in the human world nor help allow demons into the human world.
