I don’t know about that, in my humble opinion I just don’t see Satriani as a good fit. He is an amazing, amazing guitarist but he just doesn’t fit. I just think if they could cut all the bullshit and just get Wolfgang and Alex in the mix it would be a blockbuster tour and hopefully album.
Joe will do great this summer. Neither Wolf on guitar (busy with his band) or Alex on drums (he only played with Ed) will ever happen with Sammy and Mikey.
It’s good to hear them. Still putting out the killer Van Halen tunes. Sammy still sounds pretty damn good Michael anthony phenomenal as always. Man do I fucking miss Eddy. Nobody can duplicate his playing.
I pity any guitarist that has to get on stage and fill in for EVH. Even someone like Satriani has his work cut out for him. Ed was the Mozart of rock guitar.
This guy was pretty much like the "house" guitarist for most of the songs at this party. And remember this is a party not a choreographed concert. Brent is a fantastic guitarist. One of the last students of Randy Rhoads and he also recorded his first album at the 5150 studio' w/ Ed. Not to many guitarists can say either of those.. He's also the one that got the Rhoads blessing to do the Randy Rhoads Remembered tribute shows from the Rhoads family. He's been around.. Is he Ed? No, is he Randy No.. He's Brent. get over it.
@@mooch514 so what.. Again this is a party, and Brent always plays a Les Paul. He replaced Steve Stevens and he played a Les Paul then too. People like what they like. But again, he wasn't trying to be Eddie, This was just guys getting together at a party and jamming. Why so critical?

@@TonysMusic1974 thanks I had no idea who that was - I saw that tour with Vince Neil when they opened for VH and when they did a smaller venue by themselves and Steve Stevens was awesome - he made their live show great!
Unless you all doing these concerts for free, stop already. Who wants to "PAY" hard earned money to see a 80 year old man singing worn out 80/90's songs
Everytime I hear Portney with Mikey, I wish he could replace Jason Bonham who lacks the groove needed to do this tour with Sammy, Mikey and Satch. Portney would be perfect, he has the swing and groove that Jason lacks and Alex has.
One thing Jason does not lack is grove and swing.. you kidding me? Even the guys in Zep have said they believe Jason has gone on to be even better than his dad was.
@@ryant3600 Thanks for the laugh. He is a hard hitter, yet no swing, he is not Alex and not even in his Dad's league and that is a lie about Robert, Jimmy and Jones, they never said that
@@RyanConnell5150 Opps, lol, was watching a bunch of vids of the show and Portney was there for many of them. Still, him or Kenny would be a lot better than Bonhams plodding.
SAMMY. IS. 76!!!!!!!!!!! Nicely done! Michael and Kenny A holding down an amazing rhythm. Love this!!
Thanks Eddie and Alex! ❤
Eddie and Alex fired both of them to bring DLR back and put Wolfie in dumbass
Can’t wait till this summer tour. Joe Satriani will not disappoint😊

@@hoochrocks I'd like some evidence of that. Aside from the shoddy video quality....
What are you callin' shoddy? 😆
@@MelvinZoopersSorry, not the whole video. It's a bit grainy at the beginning.
Weird Al killing it on guitar!
I thought Bonham was glued to Sammy?! Nice job Mr Aronoff
Sammy still got and this was great🎸🤘🎸
Love Sammy's and Mikes relationship. Awesome!
Get it Kenny!!!🥁
If I have Sammy's attitude and energy at 76, I will be very happy indeed. A life well lived.
Just goes to show you Ed had such a magical touch.
Sammy sounds great.
Let it go, Sam.
I realized that nobody can mimic the mix between alex and eddie.
Glad to see one of the true Rock Gods descend from the heavens to play on stage!!!
Long live Kenny Aaronoff!
The solo part almost fell apart!! 😄, Sammy had to help him out.
I pity any guitarist that has to get on stage and fill in for EVH. Even someone like Satriani has his work cut out for him. Ed was the Mozart of rock guitar.
From what I've seen of this night, this guy on guitar worked his tail off recreating EVH, on a Les Paul with bo Floyd Rose....so props to him
Brent Woods on Guitar@@mikepeshel4055
That vocal part is on the album. He did it every time Ed played it live too.
Superb
Should have had Peter Thorm up on stage playing guitar
Sammy looks 50 not almost 80. Amazing. See what happens when you don't become an EMT and stick with music instead. 😅 🤟
What a show!!!
And The Crowd Snores 💤
Can't wait 2 see them!🎉🎉
This is the " look at me " sammy tour.
God damn do they pull that guy out of the crowd to play guitar did he win a contest holy shit
I never thought they'd find someone who is worse at playing Eddie's parts than Vic Johnson, but they found this guy.
Oh no, he can't replicate a guitar god. If you don't know who that is, you don't know guitar anyway, but keep on with your bad self.

He is playing on a les paul.
A VH tune in a Les Paul is not it. Brad Gillis was there! Heck, Satchel from Steel Panther lives in Vegas. That was the guy to call.

Had to slow that tempo. I think this summer will be a lot better though. I hope

How big is this venue capacity wise?
About 2,000
@@MelvinZoopersThanks 🤘
Who’s the guitar player?
I see Kenny aranoff on drums but is that weird Al on guitar?
Brent Woods.
Ha ha
@ryant3600 he opened for van halen in 1993 when he played with Vince neil. I saw that tour
@@TonysMusic1974 thanks I had no idea who that was - I saw that tour with Vince Neil when they opened for VH and when they did a smaller venue by themselves and Steve Stevens was awesome - he made their live show great!
Vince neil at the buffet
What a wast of time watching this video and reading the comments. There was only one Van Halen. The original one.
Where’s Jason ?
Michael Anthony has looked 35 his entire life.
Lol
Yeah he's got it dialed in
They need a guitar player and drummer that better represents Eddie and Alex! At least bring back Jason Bonham!!??
They are bringing him back. This is not a tour, this is just a 1 off show.
A Les Paul on a VH tune is not it. Get an Eddie clone, man. Heck, Satchel from Steel Panther lives in Vegas. He would have destroyed.
Kenny is great for Melloncamp, but doesn't sound right here. Nobody can replicate AVH drum groove and feel.
Kenny didn't sound right filling in for Chad in Chickenfoot, either. Chad has more of a funk feel which Kenny couldn't copy.
Where's Vic Johnson
What? Sammy is 76 years old...he must have sold his soul to the devil...
So so
Richie Kotzen is a great guitarist, but he nor the master Satch can do that brown sound quite like Ed. EVH was GOAT.
Kotzen? He's not in this video. Thats Brent Woods
He IS in this video.
yes, i see kotzn aha @@MelvinZoopers
Someone call Jacob Deraps
Something's missing ?
solo was off....its all about the solo
Sam sounding too old, just doesn’t sound right
He is 76
Just a shadow of what they once were.
Sammy sounds terrible
This goes to show the sound of VH is EVH cuz this guy has nothing on the real song.
If you cover VH song, you should learn the guitar part well. That's the most important aspect of the song. The guitarist has no shame
Is the guitarist playing the same song as the rest of the band? Holy shit that was bad.
