    I mounted a solar panel on my roof. I don’t have the option of angling it for perfect Sun, but 150 watts powers my fridge easily. I like not fussing with it. This was an interesting video. Looking forward to more camping.

    I did a test of my Ecoflow Delta 2 plugged into my Dometic CC-40 compressor cooler. It kept the Dometic cold for 5 days and still had 5% power left. I’m going to test it in the “wild” after the kids and I get back from our annual adventure in the Boundary Waters.

    I imagine you set up the equipment to film but, store the battery pack out of the sun and heat to maintain good temps for the unit while charging it. Also, optimize the solar angle on the four panels and it will charge even faster.
    I have the same frustration with the lcd screens on my copier at home.

      Oh yes, typically, it stays in the house. Too hot out there for humans, critters, plants, and batteries!

      @ShoestringMartha I meant while you are charging it - keep it out of the sun. Just like our phone's batteries that don't like the heat.

      @@ShoestringMartha I've actually strapped an umbrella to my power stations when charging with my solar panels out in the sun to keep them shaded (and the LED screens more visible). "Strapped", because chasing an umbrella across a campground on a windy day isn't terribly fun. 😅

    The real test for powering small appliances is knowing the power of the inverter. In my experience the actual battery draw isn’t a huge issue but the inverter needs to be big enough to handle the high power draw needed for small appliances.

      Katmogstad1692, I am trying to figure out how powerful of a device I need in order to run my Inogen One portable oxygen concentrator. I use it for sleep apnea and only need it at night. I’m going to a Meet Up in New Mexico in November for 5 nights at a State Park that doesn’t have hookups. This will be my third year to attend this Meet Up. In the past I just slept without oxygen but I’d really like to have my oxygen at night, it makes me feel better during the day.

    I ordered this item few days ago then I watched a video from a professional person. He says that the battery is not 606 like they advertise. And he showed proves for that by turning on a 60w tv. Another comments from people who says that the battery start to have problems after few months(many comments). Therefore I decided to send it back without to even open it once I receive it.

    I tested my ALLPOWERS S700 V2.0 606WHr last night running my 2018 fossil gas furnace last night -5 Celsius with wind-chill -12 degrees. It ran for 4 hours AC mode but then AC mode turned itself off with aprox 58% remaining at 4 hours! That's disappointing considering that I'd hope to sleep through an over night (6 hrs expectation) power outage. I turned AC back on but within 40 minutes it ran down to 18% I had the charger plugged in for the entire test run. As it's not a quick charge capable battery chemistry (not a LiFePO4), am not surprised that there was not much power use mitigation. I'm glad I have an EcoFlow River 2 Pro 786WHr to rely on.

    • @ShoestringMartha
      @ShoestringMartha  6 месяцев назад

      I love that you are so thorough, but bummer that it's not delivering to expectation. I pretty much use mine exclusively for the 12v fridge, and my phone and watch, just because it's closer to my head.
      I also had it randomly turn off, but using DC power. I think it's supposed to auto-off, when not in use. So when it's cold, my fridge compressor only turns on sporadically, and the AllPowers thinks I'm done, and shuts off.
      So anyway, I still use the EcoFlow for all the important stuff. :D

    • @MorganTheva
      @MorganTheva 6 месяцев назад

      @@ShoestringMartha Yes, it's either that (furnace blower being idle) or it's the S700 fan cannot keep up with usage/ an overheat safety shut off. It's half the price of my EcoFlow still a good value if running only for 4hrs rather than EcoFlow working 6.5 hrs with no user intervention required.

    Great video! I need to learn more about solar generators. I don’t have one yet. I think Jackery is quite popular, but some people say Bluetti is better than Jackery.

    • @ShoestringMartha
      @ShoestringMartha  Год назад +3

      I know just enough to be dangerous, but not nearly enough to be an authority 😂 I think Jackery had an excellent marketing strategy, and were smart to get in early with the #vanlife trend and get their name out there. I cannot speak to Bluetti, but I know they have their fans. I've had a good experience with my EcoFlow, but the AllPowers performed well, for its pricepoint.

    Mine came with 18% power out of the box. It takes 6 hours to charge up. When the S700 V2.0 hits 40% and dropping on the display, expect it to stop providing power soon! ruclips.net/video/xYsBt_Swt_M/видео.html The good news is that it has battery management systems (BMS) to prevent deep discharge in that heavy usage scenario, so the display has power and claims it has 0% but you now know that you must charge it up soon. If you don't charge it soon, it may actually reach deep discharge state over a few days and may be useless / no longer able to charge up. Perhaps by 2025, new solid-state batteries for these home use products will be readily available, smaller size / same weight but a much greater run time :)
