    Love your videos man. I just got an RE GT650 and want to swap out some of these things. No nonsense, to the point, solid explanations and good shots of what it is you're actually doing. I'm not very mechanically talented but want to swap out/clean up some of these stock things that just make the bike look silly if you keep it completely as it was from the factory.

    Great video, exactly what I was looking for! Before I get started, what happens if I leave the rear stock turn signals as they are and only change the front turn signals and the relay? Would that mean that the rear and front indicators would flash at different frequencies then? Would I have to change all 4 (unless I want to use resistance for the front LEDs)?

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад +1

      You can change the front and keep the rear stock. They all flash together at the same speed.

    Hi Jerry, just curious… does that resistor effect the front and back indicators ? Asking as I’m thinking of doing the same upgrade but I noticed that you haven’t changed the rear indicators in this video and they still seemed to be flashing at the same rate?

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад

      Yes, the relay controls the flashing speed of all the indicators together.

  • @Spot_the_dog

    Think these would fit on the back also? The seat support bar seems a bit close. Curious is there’s enough room from the back of the light to the support bracket.

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад +1

      Not sure if they fit on the back. You may also need to change the stock taillight for them to fit since they only stick out 1 inch (2.5cm) and would probably hit the taillight. I did a shorty tail conversion and used different rear turn signals.

    Now that it’s been several months, I’m curious as to how those nuts held up considering that the bolt didn’t even make it through all the way? I’m asking because I’m having the same issue with the indicator lights I bought being that the headlight brackets are so thick and most indicator lights come with relatively short bolts.

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад

      They've held on tight and I haven't had any issues with the indicators moving or coming loose... but yes, wish the indicator bolts were just a little bit longer.

  • @fredzuccarelli

    Just curious....had you ever considered bar-end signals? Trying to determine if it's worth the trouble when you've made this look so easy.

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад +2

      I briefly thought about it but decided to go with the torpedo signals. I like the look of the torpedo signals, and being larger, feel they are more visible than the bar end signals.

    Do you know if these can be installed with the RE genuine wind screen? Will the new LED's be long enough to mount through brackets on the bike and windscreen. They mount on the same instert.

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад +1

      Yes, but just barely! I have the RE fly screen attached and there is just enough lenght to mount. It doen't go all the way through the nut but it's tight & secure enough to hold. Photos: imgur.com/a/yNqZBJP

    What led headlight did you go with? Looking for one myself. Did you need any adapter for that?

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  Год назад

      No adaptor needed. The pro is the headlight was cheap, only $50. The con is that the headlight is cheap! Ha, maybe I'm bing too picky... it has great reviews but I don't like the way it casts three separate beams of light. I find the shadows between teh beams to be distracting. I just bought some front indicators that have a wire for running lights but can't find the freaking wire for it. I tried using the low beam wire but when I go to use the indicators, they don't blink. I had to disconnect it. Do you happen to know which wire in the light housing is for the running light? Or would the relay help to solve this problem? 🤔 Thanks in advance for any direction!

      Hmm. I did not, but don't recall seeing an unused accessory plug today but will check again. Either way, I bought the relay and my dad who used to be a master electrician said that was probably the reason. Voltage and shit.

    • @RideWithJerry

      Electrical noob also... twisting the wires together and covering with electrical tape works (haven't had any issues.) You can also twist, solder and heat wrap for a better hold. Last option is get new connectors.
