    Nice video. I think your wrists are going to die until you point the clutch and brake levers down a little though. I think I'm going to skip the clip ons after watching this. I was able to get my stock ones under the the top of the triple clamp. I think I'll just hit their clamps with some black plastidip and call it good for a while.

      Honestly I think that’s the better way to go. These were cool, and I learned a lot installing them, but what a pain in the ass.

    I bought a domino billet ally start stop switch and xm2 throttle..No drilling needed just make up a 9 pin plug for loom. Did drill the left bar but just marked where the hole should go and drilled with a cordless drill no problem at all, and you can twist the bar to get right angle 😉

  • @venustas99

    Considering how crimped the brake line is here, you should really loosen the banjo bolt and adjust your front brake line. This will save your headlamp from being rubbed raw, allow you to adjust your brake lever more downward, and will also relax the tension on your line at full lock. This is really quick and easy, just don't go crazy trying to re torque it.

    Can we use the old bars and mount them on the clipon bracket, instead making holes which I feel is an unnecessary process? As this way, we don’t have to mess around with switches and throttle housing.

    Yeah, I didn't realize how much of a pain in the ass this swap would be. Laid down the bike and messed up stock bars, but now I need shorter throttle cables because they bind due to bending so much extra cable due to how low I want the bars xD

    Ah man I wish I saw this before I ordered my clip-ons from K-Speed. You shouldn’t have to drill through anything. They should modify the design or something to suit.
    Looks great though.

    • @BurtoniMotors
      @BurtoniMotors  3 года назад

      Completely agreed, they should of drilled the hole for you as it’s such a simple step for a manufacture but quite difficult for a normal owner.

  • @jasonv5790
    @jasonv5790 2 года назад

    Couldn't you have just separated the "P" clamp from the stock bars and swapped it out with the new clamp?
    That way you wouldn't have to worry about drilling out the new bars or even worry about disassembling the controls altogether.
    Of course this would leave you with chrome bars with black clamps but I think I would be ok with that if this method is possible.

    Why not just lower the stock handlebars a little. Maybe 2 inches or so.. rather than swapping the m with these clip ons?

    • @venustas99
      @venustas99 3 года назад

      You can't do this, because the innermost part of the stock clip-ons bump against the top of the triple clamp. I'm currently working on this mod albeit with some different clip on bars. I never thought simply lowering the bars a few inches would cause so many other problems.

  • @iyeratedgabru

    Great video as always. Thank you for this. I installed the K-Speed headlight bracket recently and I'm looking at their clip-ons next. But I'm gonna take your advice and not do all this hard work. Is it possible to just use the stock handle bar with all the assembly minus the stock risers and just fit it with the k-speed clip-on clamp?

    • @fabianoH5N1
      @fabianoH5N1 3 года назад +2

      You will need to remove everything from the stock bars , you cant slide them out the short way .

    • @iyeratedgabru
      @iyeratedgabru 3 года назад +1

      Thanks. So once I do that can I make use of the k-speed clip-on bar's clamp alone? Is it compatible?

    • @fabianoH5N1
      @fabianoH5N1 3 года назад +1

      @@iyeratedgabru yes it should be . Same 22.2mm diameter . But usually its a 30 Minute job . To do new clip ons . Just drill the hole with a tiny dril and a bigger on after .

    • @iyeratedgabru
      @iyeratedgabru 3 года назад

      Thanks Fabiano. I don't have a drill and was just plain lazy to go through with it. Especially if I already have the rods that come drilled from the factory. Will give it a go. Worst case I might have to buy a drill.

    • @BurtoniMotors
      @BurtoniMotors  3 года назад

      Why buy the aftermarket clip-ons then? You could probably put the stock clip-ons under the top crown and get the same look (kind-of). And you can't get the bar itself out of the right clip-on b/c that metal dwell is stuck in place.
