- Awakening of the Daleks is a short film i have been working on for the last few months. It started out as just a short clip showing of the Niklas Jansson re imaging of the Daleks, which i took his concepts and made them into 3d in 3ds max. I think the design is brilliant and need to come alive. But when i started i found myself writing a small back story around there birth. A group of time war survivors track down and retrieve a Progenitor to create a new Dalek Paradigm.

The modern cybermen voices sound like mondasian cybermen.
"Impure Daleks must be purged" well that's one way to say 'thank you for creating me'.

Cybermen: "Illrelavent, we may have stole it first but we still want it back."
What the hell were they even going to do create dalek cybermen hybrids....SOME ONE PLEASE MAKE THAT

That moment when the Cyber Legion actually sends a Dalek ship into retreat. Daleks will be deleted! Aside from the accent, the voices were spot on. Cyber Voices should have been a little more monotone, but that’s beside the point.

The Daleks were dangerous enough as they were, the universe can’t prepare itself for Scottish ones!

When I saw the "neck" louvers of the floating Paradigms, I thought, "Hmm, those details remind me of Sam Therapy's designs." Imagine my delight when the credits revealed Sam Therapy WAS one of the designers! (In case anyone is wondering, Sam has shared his variant Dalek concepts with the 3D community for several years. This may be the highest quality Dalek animation I've ever stumbled across. The animation and lighting was both atmospheric and smooth, making this a pleasure to watch. The premise of the Mondas Cybermen and the Daleks fighting eachother full force is captivating, as well as an improved Dalek paradigm design.
The brief Cyberman-Dalek battle was extremely intriguing and excellently captured my attention early on. (On a side note, it seems that the sing-song voice and advanced technology of these Cybermen imply they are of Mondasian origin. I've always wanted to see the outcome of a Mondasian Cyberman-Dalek conflict, as it would be much more interesting than the utter slaughter that was the Battle of Canary Wharf.) The dogfight between the two ships had a very Star-Wars-y-feel to it, which is cool in my book. Needless to say, the brief firefight between the post Goodman Goes to War era Mondasian Cybermen and the Time War Daleks easily triumphed anything Doomsday had to offer and it left me hungry for more. I'd love to see a full battle between these two iconic enemies animated by you, whether it would be Daleks stumbling upon an ancient Cybership or some tombs and a small nomadic group of Cybermen put up a mighty fight against the overwhelming power of the Daleks or a all-out war between the two at the height of their power.
I'm also extremely fond of your new Dalek designs. The color schemes and eyestalks callback to the classic Daleks, yet they are modernized and have some extremely interesting new features, particularly the new 'feet'. Compared to what Paradigm Daleks we got (which, by the way I still do not dislike), these seem much more like an advanced warmachine's recent incarnation. The hovering movement and rounded bottom suggests an improvement in mobility, which I like as well.
In conclusion, I really found your work to be intriguing and professional and after watching this I'm hungry for more! Keep it up!
Wow, really thank you for your kind words. Yeah the Cybermen are meant to be of Mondasian/Telosian origin. All i had was the Cybus style, which has been slightly retooled. in my head the mondas cybermen came across a group of Cybusmen and incorporated them in the cyber race. Who knows i am currently writting a script for another animation, so who knows :). Yeah the spacebattle is the one bit i wasnt happy with but didn't know how to fix, but i have learned some new ways of doing it for next time :) Again thank you for your kind words.

I'd have loved it if they had come up with this kind of Dalek for the new Paradigm - I know some fans probably wouldn't have liked it because its so different to what the Daleks have always been but I think it'd be a nice update idea

Sorry chuckled when I saw this. I thought of weebles. They wobble but they don’t fall down. It’s a 70s child’s toy. But it solves how do the DALEK s climb stairs.
They remind me of Quintessons, they way they float about.
why does it take fans to produce content that fans want from Dr Who...more Dalek ...more Cybermen... instead of what they have served up laterly...well done
Mainly because other fans disagree, and say the Daleks & Cybermen are done to death, and that new monsters, new ideas, are needed more than old, overused monsters. You are not the only fan(s) in the universe, nor does your opinion hold more weight than everyone else's does.
Besides, fan stories, fan comics, fan magazines, and fan films have existed for decades - literally - and that means fans with tastes A, fans with tastes B, and fans with tastes C can ALL find stuff they like in fan-made things. That little bonus from fan-made stuff has been true for decades, everyone has something they can enjoy.
Then there are those like me, fans from waaaay back, who have the ability to enjoy it ALL, and who don't spend time complaining about other people getting what THEY want for once. 🙄😒
If you want more Daleks and Cybermen, listen to _Dalek Empire_ and _Cyberman_

Lots of planets have a ... Scotland
Scottish have often won large battles against English outnumbered 100 to 1 while under armed starving and already exhausted. Thus the Dalek figured a slight amount of their dna will improve the strategy and battle tactic part of the brain.

Looked great, but could have used a different voice actor. As soon as the new Daleks came out of the progenerator I guessed exactly what was going to happen. Those Daleks should have seen it coming.
Thank you, as for the voicing sorry that you dont like my voice, sadly I was working on budget of £0, so I could not afford actors and people who I know that did dalek voices where unavailable so I had no choice but to do it myself.

Hey, just want to say I also am a HUGE fan of the Niklas Jansen Daleks and actually began designing my own rendition somewhat similar but also in a unique way, and was wondering if you'd be able to help me turn them into a 3D actualization?
Great video and glad to see someone who appreciates this look for the Daleks as much as I do.

Daleks the galaxy didn’t want them but we never wanted Scottish daleks its bad enough, even the cybermen were upgraded.

Started off promisingly but didn't really do anything for me, the genetic purity thing has already been done so many times in Dalek stories in the last few years that really aside from some flashy visuals it doesn't really bring anything new to the table imo.

Interesting that these new Daleks have a hover conversion, but still have those useless plunger thingies.
It's actually quite useful, more useful that your human hand.
It can be used for interfacing with computers, bruteforcing human security lock keypads, extracting memories from humans (exterminating them in the process of course) and more important unclog toilets.
