- Well after starting this project back in feb 2018, I have completed it! just so happens to be finished on the same day Doctor Who returns to our screens.
Dalek Chronicles Echoes of War is a short animation on the conclusion of the Imperial/Renegade Dalek war. From what little information has been released from cannon novels and books, the Renegade Daleks somehow won. This is my take on it. Enjoy :)

The Renegade Dalek design in this film is fantastic! This is how the Daleks should be redesigned, old series style but new series appearance at the same time.

This is a gift to doctor who fans who lived through the wilderness years. Fantastic dalek continuity, a good transition from renegade dalek casings to a mid point between time war casings and the renegade ones implying the time war dalek gear is not yet perfected. The crowl, eyestalk, arms, bombs and slats are all time war but the ears, dome, base and build is still renegade. This was a very bad day for imperial daleks, I wander in a year or two you may get round to telling how the renegades upgraded their casings, ships and defences, what made the imperial tech inferior?

Thank you for the kind words. Never understood why the imperial, renegade war was never expanded upon after rememberance. It's a good mine for story telling. I do have a prequel half written. In my mind renegades didn't have the numbers to match the imperials so they looked to upgrade themselves so that each individual dalek was equal to 10 imperials, also discovering long lost time Lord tech help them gain an advantage.
Those poor imperials, davros and the daleks can never truly get on can they?
Nice to see an imperial supreme dalek, dalek sec "emperor dalek sec guards", eternity circle inbetween dalek, some 60's silver blue daleks. The renegade supreme dalek is strangely prescient, i customised a red/gold 12" RC dalek to that (almost) exact livery down to the smaller slats, applying the gold on the dome took days in small, thin watery coats. The joke is really on the renegade emperor as his cult of skaro will disintegrate, rebel against their leader, 3 die and caan having to undo the emperors actions in this animation by saving davros and him kind of leading the dalek empire again in series 9 dalek two parter back in 2015.

Revisiting this after a couple of years and it still holds up. Brilliant stuff. Really epic in scale and a lot of fun!
The alarm sound that is heard comes from Destiny of the Daleks. Transmat is short for Matter Transmitter. One Special Weapons Dalek was seen in Remembrance of The Daleks. The sliding door sound comes from the 2 Dalek films. There is also dialogue from The Power of the Daleks and Genesis of the Daleks.

I could swear some of these Daleks are Scottish! Especially noticeable on the Emperor's ship, and particularly the one at 14:50.
I always thought the legendary Scottish origin of the Daleks was an apocryphal tale my granny told me to make me behave better...
I just love the retro look of the renegades, new series design with classic series grey/black paint job. The old school ear lights just sets them off nicely. Great design I would love to see on TV.

Thanks! yeah its my take on it. Originally the renegades Daleks won the civil war and the emperor in parting of the ways was the same as the one in Evil according to the earlier released Dalek handbooks. So i went with that as my basis.
However since the release of Time Lord victorious, that has retconned everything. Now the Imperial's won the civil war. The emperor is now a member of the imperial Supreme council who decided to kill all the other supreme's and name himself emperor after Davros's disappearance from remembrance.
@@AnubisX1 Ahhh right, I read about that on the wiki. Kinda bummed they skimmed over just HOW the Daleks resurrected Skaro.
All that's mentioned in the article is the Emperor "restored" or "rebuilt" it - no actual details. I don't even think the writers knew tbh, they just needed it back.
I like what's suggested in the recent *Whoniverse* book, that through some time manipulation the Daleks literally reconstituted Skaro as if nothing happened...
Still vague tbf but atleast it's something. My headcanon (building on that) is the Daleks somehow "merged" timelines together;
- Millions of years into the future, the ashes of Skaro left by the supernova gradually condense and reform because of gravity (similar to how real planets are made)
- The Daleks, maybe with stolen Time Lord tech, overlapped this future version of their home system with the current one, hence "reconstituting" Skaro
Is it a paradox? Most likely. But at this point the Daleks whole timeline is built on them, so nothing new lol

dang, this Dalek Emperor was quite the 4-D chess player in his prime.
Only gripe I have with this is how dark it is at times. If you could do a remastered version at some point, that’d be brilliant

2:30 Why is the leader of the Imperial Dalek faction an Emperor? Isn’t Davros the Emperor of the Imperial Daleks?
I would assume this takes place after Remembrance of the Daleks, but even then why is it not a Supreme instead of an Emperor?
Its mean't the be a Dalek Prime/Supreme to fill in the gap while Davros is missing. I did record a line to hint at this but i cut it for timing.

Okay so aside from the civil war plot I didn't get any of that. Could somebody explain what I just watched please?
I apologise for that. Looking back on this I do wish I made the plot clearer.
the basic plot of it was, it's set after rememberance of the daleks, based on the canon lore of the time, which was the renegade daleks won the civil War but was never shown, so this was my take on it.
So in this the renegade daleks return to the ruins of skaro, to wipe out the remains of the imperial daleks and their supreme. Using new casing models. They attack the main command station, take out the supreme, and proceed to upload a virus to take down the remaining imperial defenses. They then use stolen timelord tech to rebuild skaro and hide it from the timelords, while they rebuild their forces.
But now with timelord victorious, it was changed to the imperial daleks win the civil war.

I think probably all it'd need to signpost that would be maybe some expository text or narration appearing at the beginning and the end to give it some context in regard to when it takes place and what its significance is. But that's just my on-the-spot thoughts. It's really well produced btw, love the animation and the voice acting!

Yeah they had the shuttles which i put in, then there was the mothership from rememberance, sadly I couldn't find a image that showed the complete model from top to bottom, so I designed my own using what is seen in rememberance and shuttle design as my base and built up the cruiser from there.

It was all 3D graphics artwork, so yeah, of course it looks "cartoony," because that's what it IS. 😉🙃😄

The effects for the transmat, shields and dropping out of hyperspace, look similar to those from Stargate, even the explosion of an Imperial ship looks like that of an X-304.
Hiya, the shield effect was actual from a tutorial on how to do star trek shields lol. Yeah the beam in effect I did base on stargate. As for the imperial cruisers destruction resembling that of a 304, that is unintentional, but I do love SG1 and Atlantis, they are on my top 5 sci fi shows.

Are your comma and period/full stop keys broken? Might wanna get that fixed. And that's not how one spells conquer, so maybe a spelling refresher course would be a good idea. 😉

I'm finding it a bit confusing: I've understood how the black Daleks (or so-called Renegade Daleks) only follow their Supreme Dalek and against the loyalty to their creator Davros and the rest of the Imperial Daleks. Instead, this video reveals the Renegades all serve their own Emperor against the Imperials and their Emperor. If they both serve their Emperors at the same time for the same purpose, why can't they just unite than slaughtering each other which could've bring them to extinction before the wars they are about to face?
So Daleks are really armoured Haggis then.

Video seems to not play on phones for some reason.
Weird, I've just tested it on both IPhone and samasung phones and played it via both RUclips, chrome and the phones own Internet explorer app, with no issues. What is the problem your having, is it giving you a error message?

@DurandulTycho from what I have read safari seems to have issues with RUclips, you may need to enable permissions in safari or there's various other fixes to try, need to Google them. Or stick with the YT app or Chrome? But from what I can gather in most cases I have read about its something to do with the permissions in safari.

Excellent job!! Well done. It's really a pity that the BBC haven't made a spin off series about the daleks and their's various wars. Having the daleks as the main characters rather than a background characters in politically correct stories.

Yep would really like a Dalek origin story and have them as main characters. Can have the doctor in it but let's hear the Dalek's side of the story. Too much there that needs exploring.could literally do a whole series on Davros and how he turned into the creator of the Daleks and life on Skaro before that. A Daleks origin movie with a couple of sequels would also be great and so long overdue.
@@FantabulasFacts absolutely right. The daleks are supposed to be a vastly superior enemy so lets see them as such. It would be great to see them as the underdog for a change. Maybe a story that follows on from Genesis where the daleks are in their infancy and skaro gets invaded by other more superior races. I'd love to see a series which is based around that, with the technology available to the bbc to create an awesome looking skaro.
@@descheers2217 Yes that sounds great. Or maybe it's time they sold the rights so that more could be done in terms of expanding into and exploring the Daleks. I really doubt the BBC will get anything like that made and would be such a shame.
@@descheers2217 um... you seem to be unaware of the teensy little detail that Doctor Who _has _*_always_*_ been_ political. From waaaaaaay back when they were "preaching" about the dangers of pesticides and toxic waste, and the dangers of fascism and racism, and all sorts of things you NMD types would call "politically correct." From back in the 1960s onward, mind you, this was happening. You complaining about "political correctness" in the new iterations of the show is just absurd. 🤣

Imperial's are the white gold daleks and renegades are the grey/ new series casings

How did you do the dalek voices?
I now use reaper to do the voices, it's a great bit of software that has unlimited trail period. It also allows you to do the voice in real time so you dont record the voice then add the ring modulation. You can do it all in one. Here's a tutorial vid m.ruclips.net/video/UbXT03puQFs/видео.html the only difference I now do is I use a modulation of 6.33 and then add a bit of reverb.
When I did this animation I used to use audacity with the killeringer ring modulator. That unfortunately doesnt really work with windows 10 anymore, doesn't give you as much control as reaper does. But audacity is easy to use free. You just have to download the killeringer ring modulation as a plugin, but as I said doesnt seem to really like windows 10 unless it has been updated
