Black Gold!! Did you get a premium growing Nexara? Must be the heat that turned it a brown color? Was reading oil content is low this yr and the protein is very high due to the heat.
What is the oil content of the canola? Looks really red/brown. If we get canola that colour it's got low oil content. We are looking for 40% oil content. What are you guy looking for?

I don’t know jack but, from watching Zach and Chet I think you are onto something with the large amount of bins and the simple unload system. However I don’t see you needing to run a dryer so maybe that is why the corn amd bean farmers in the lower 48 need the complex legs chutes, dump pits etc. Honestly those mini elevator sites I just described look like a horrible maintenance nightmare and ungodly expensive.
@@mikemitchell2554 Holy Moses I got a reply from the man himself thanks for that kind sir I am grinning ear to ear. I was using a 10 inch auger out of 11,000 bu hopper bin, trucker said I should have a bigger auger. I said ok I will go get my 7 inch with a wore out flighting and go to the 2000 bu wooden bin with wires. His last comment was all farms should only have hopper bins. I had to walk away before I said something I may have regretted.
@@davezalinko1354 I'm thinking with some of the crops this year lot of truckers will be looking for those loads. I've had truckers just happy to have business. That's brutal to complain about a ten inch.
@@davezalinko1354 I like the farmers that tell me they buy a big auger because they know custom haulers can't be sitting all day lol A 10" is good tho. Better then a worn out 7"🙄

Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Hat off to George, cool trucker, looks after his equipment and not shy to share his knowledge, a good asset to any operation I bet.
Those self propelled augers are the cat's meow. I wish I had bought mine about 20 years earlier then my back might not be so sore!
Another sweet video Mike! I figured the bin yard you loaded out of looked familiar! That’s cause it’s my uncles yard!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you George! Appreciate seeing that.
Mike knows there are always internet safety rangers lurking. So he jiggled that ladder really good just to trigger them! 🤣

Good morning Mike great video!
You are definitely closer to canola plants at your northern farm with numerous plants being located in the Yorkton area.
11:05 They're awesome and worth every penny! As you already have other M18 tools, I would highly recommend adding the blower to your collection!
Hello Mike good silos 🌾🌾👍😉🇮🇹
never seen brown canola before
I was wondering about that. I thought canola is what we call oilseed rape in the Uk but that is always black seed
@@johnwarwick4105 It could be because they swath early.

Oh before of course!
Canola's a funny colour?
I am told that's what Nexara looks like
Oh sure you load the other guys but when I show up I gotta load myself I see how it is 😆

As a trucker the 10" is ok. But I've been loading under a 16" at a big farm. Truckers like big augers. Lol

Need to take that Vanguard off and toss a Honda on it. Never had the greatest luck with Vanguard. Touchy motors especially the efi models
Nha. They're just fine. Briggs ain't what it used to be but neither is Honda. They're all junk now.
Are you gonna quit the south farm and just do your stuff up north with Ashton?
No sir, the north farm is only Mike & Ashtyn's hobby and another source of risk management. Mike's main farm will always be back home.

Mike, I have a question. I thought canola seeds were black?
I believe some verities are brown
Nice auger, but why not go one step further, and mount a little Mitsubishi four cylinder diesel engine on it?
Why is the canola brown
Why didn't you go for the 13 inch AGI u trough auger
Too much $$ 😆... This one was a couple year old for fire sale 👌
That canola looks more brown than black
Is it true that your dad and brother's trade there fendt combines for x9 john deere

I have noticed that you drive quit much. How many miles do you get in your truck yearly?
He used to do 80-90000kms a year but that was before he took on the north farm. So I imagine it will be much higher now.
