@@dukeofrodtown1705 Are you a Halep fan? Her suspension has been lifted since March, she has been eligible to play, but have issues with her knee. She played last week in WTL against Rybakina.
@@sashasmith707 I stopped following tennis prior to the Olympics, then started up thereafter. I'm a Canadian fan, I rate Simona and forgot her suspension was already lifted (Christmas fog LOL)
@@dukeofrodtown1705 I'm a Canadian fan too! Wow small world. She played well last week against Rybakina so I was looking forward to see her play. Shame the injury has come back.
The new gen champs are mostly in shape and lots knocking at the door so looking forward to being there watching live. I’ll also be checking out the doubles, the format I mostly play.
Halep played a lot of those exhibitions in Romania lately, singles and doubles. Aggravated her knee. Too bad, because she won't get her ranking back up by playing exhibitions and sitting out the important events.
She is 33 no, the clock stops for no one. Queen Wen is smart, she knows her priorities. I am having a bad feeling about Draper and future health issues. He is one of the giants (physically) for guys his size it's always difficult to stay injury free.
He’s simply unlucky, injury prone. The likes of Tsisipas, Zverev, Medvedev are bigger than him yet have managed to have prolonged careers. Ben Shelton, arguably bigger and more explosive than Jack also appears to be more durable, at least for now.
@@funkslave9425 As far as I can see, Draper has only been struggling with his hip injury, I wouldn't call that prone. Incidentally, hip injury is what brought Andy Murray to his knees in the end. I don't know how Tsitsipas, Zverev, Medvedev and Shelton are bigger than him. Draper 1.93 Shelton 1:93 Tsitsipas 1:93 Zverev and Medvedev both 1:98 - yes, those two are taller but then we look at Del Potro who at 1:98 won a slam and his career was cut short by injury. Karlovic on the other hand, a real giant if you wish at 2:11, never won a slam and he never had that ambition. They said "he lives of his serve" and it was true and he wouldn't deny it. He did suffer a few injuries but he seemed to shake them off, long enough for him to enjoy his tennis life without ending up as a cripple. There are all kinds.... a lot depends on the individual's attitude of which the subconscious part tends to creep into the playing style. Draper, though a nice guy with a pleasant attitude to me always appears a bit too tense.
In fact, the suspension for almost two years for a 34yo is almost the end of career, even if she practiced a lot during the "break", she's fit as it seems, but nothing is compatible to play pro matches. Her body is struggling to rehab and she has no much time and her body won't going to do its part faster, if she's a 20yo would be easy.
Well she doesn't even hit as hard as the top ladies, so she blessed to have won majors, but not anymore no matter. Enjoy your millions and go do something else.
Knee injury is horrible indeed - difficult to recover from these - tennis is so tough on the body. I m sure they’re getting the best treatments possible.
Not that tough on the body like soccer, basketball, and American football. Excuses, excuses. Bunch of too heavy players imo. Some or too bulky, and need to take off weight to lessen the impact on the body. Le bron dropped weight to extend his career, perhaps some players need to change the physio, many tend to want to add too much muscle. For the women it is unnecessary. Women are playing only the best of 3 sets, not sure why they complain so much.
"More players" withdraw from AO. Meanwhile, it's about ONE player withdrawing from qualifying. Is it really that hard to write an accurate title for a video? Is it intentional deception? If so, why?
In pro sports there is never an off season. Training and playing is the way they make money. They are not expected to play ALL tournaments. There were several new ones thrown in just for MONEY. sOME CHOSE TO PLAY THOSE AND NOT TAKE A BREAK. When you consider that Tennis is not a contact sport, they can preserve the body longer. This generation is so soft. Too much complaining, and social media has too many pundits. Emma R. has played very little, always hurt. Just a complete amateur. She belongs on the ITF.
Draper and Jessica , hip and knee you can take chance's with those injuries because of the recovery time after a hard match .i think both will not make it

C’mon Coco take this slam. Take down Iga & Sabs just like you did in the WTA finals. Your serve is looking much better as you keep your DFs to a minimum & your forehand looks stronger & your grip technique has changed. Win this entire slam so you can set the tone for the year. Instill fear in the rest of the players. Make them wet their panties even just thinking about playing you. And lastly after you annihilate them remember to smile & hug them at the net. ❤
If Halep received a main draw WC she would not have withdrawn get ready for the French not to award her one, then retirement same with all the other slams.
My heart goes out to her . If she were German, French etc she never would have been disqualified. She is from the Balkans they can do anything they want to us
We are losing tennis... The moment djokovic retire it will be the most anti climax moment tennis has ever seen. I’ve seen more and more padel players coming.. it’s not looking good
Gently disagree. I see more USTA tournaments, local leagues and players than ever before. It’s anecdotal - so I’d love to see some real numbers on padel growth and tennis decline. Pickleball is a standalone species 😮
Thanks for updates, Cam! Not a good start to the year...
Simona, not having the best of luck. The injuries, since the suspension was lifted, have stopped her from being competitive again.
Why was she suspended?
Oh, well, I was looking forward to seeing Halep. All the best for the new year...😮
Very worried for Pegula... she's had this ongoing knee injury since the WTA Finals

Not feeling sorry for her. She could have skipped the WTA Finals and three recent exhibition that she just played. Beside that , she’s a millionaire
she got to play at madison square a month after the wta finals

Halep needs the Sunshine circuit and the clay tour to recover the rhytm focusing in RG as her rerurning slam tournament.

In my opinion, her career is over since she was suspended..., it's such a shame
Totally agree, what happened to Simona Halep shouldn't have happened. She would make the quarters at minimum
Yes it is !!
How long was she out?
@MervMan410 she was suspended for 2 years.
😞....so unfair!! Why not equal for Iga...
What the hell happened to Draper, got injured already?
Btw what's happening to Zheng she withdraw United cup too
Nothing. She wants to be fresh and ready for the Australian Open by not playing in the United Cup.
Simona is reminding me of Sharapova trying to come back after her suspension :/
No drugs=struggles
Those who are in are suppose to be & those who aren't are not suppose to be. Sorry for your injuries guys. Get well soon🤕🛌🏸🏆😢
