Air temperature difference of only 5°c will already significantly change the speed difference because the weight of the ball changes with altitude and air temperature. Was the soeedguns calibrated, probably not... This was a waist of time from a technical point of view.

you also can't beat someone throwing a ball with 1 hand, due to you using more kinetic energy when passing with 2 hands makes it slower already as the energy is has to be distributed through both arms/hands
