If I'm driving more than 20 minutes, I also bring along an Android phone running JBV1, plus everything mentioned before running on my main iPhone. Needless to say, it's nice being protected by technology. JBV1 is awesome, but I always run it standalone, never paired to the V1. That's what V1Driver is for. If only V1Driver would add Red Light Camera Database, that would pretty much make the app perfect.

Very common and I’ve done multiple videos on how radar detectors are the wrong tool for laser. You need a laser jammer to pair with your radar detector.
Congratulations on your brother's wedding! I have to ask about V1G1, the radar detector I have had for my entirety of radar detector ownership. Why would I ever get rid of it? I like the arrows and the fact that I only enabled ka band. I have never felt the need to get anything newer. Is there any big reason to leave my V1G1 behind?
As fun as new toys are, IMO if you’re running Ka only, are happy with the range, and don’t need RDD immunity, there’s not much reason to upgrade. Maybe BT if you don’t have that already, but newer V1 G1’s can do that with an external dongle.

Download Bluetooth inspector. My r4 would not show up in my Bluetooth options. However it showed up fine and Bluetooth inspector. With Bluetooth inspector, you can click to try to join that device which works perfectly well for my r4
Is there an article or something that further explains police & radar? For example what is giving radar from cops other than the obvious radar gun? Cause I pass cops all the time stopped for an accident or something like that, whom are obviously not running a radar gun to catch speedsters, but my R8 is going off on them
Yeah very common. I sometimes see that as well and figure that it’s either just laziness with them leaving their equipment on or intentional to slow people down haha.
We get it R9, R8 but what about us out here with R7’s ? Could you find out if there’s anything going on from Uniden regarding the R7. Is it over & out? Anything in the way of a firmware update?

Also can something else trigger a Ka band alert? I was on a 2 way highway wide open road no side streets and my radar went off and I did not see a single cop
I just got my r4 .. what setting should i set it to for ka especially in my area .. i turned all bands off except for ka and got it on narrow on highway mode .. is that good ?? Do i do a update on it or is it ready to go from the box
Vortex. Nice video.. Q..If already using V1 Driver for G2, where many K band fixed false pins are already set. Will those be there when using the app for DS1 or Uniden? That way, lockout areas would already be there. No driving by them multiple times before the lockout happens. Michael Valentine needs to come up with more updates to eliminate the Ka false alerts, and K band. The “SAW” is really dull. But is anyone at Valentine listening? Or are they in a “McConnell incapacitation freeze”?
I drove with my friend, and we were using a radar detector. He has Uniden R8 and me Beltronics STI magnum. My old radar spot cops better, and he was upset about it. I'm looking for a new Red Line but have got to have a laser blocker. Otherwise, it is not worth it to buy.

Purchased a Uniden r4 on your recommendation. It doesn’t pickup laser for some reason. The officers laser was Tru something. No alert at all

No, V1G1 is solid I own both G1 and G2 , and honestly, G2 is not that much better than G1 ( assuming your G1 is updated)
I have them both and the g2 is much better detector hands down.

No. The R4 doesn’t have arrows and so it can’t communicate that info to the app.
I'd be curious to have you compare Highway Radar as well. We use it with our Radenso DS1.

The R7 doesn't have bluetooth. They added that into the R4, R8.
They released an update a few months back. There’s also the new international firmware out that’s outstanding.

I assume so, but I lost all my V1 lockouts at some point during testing so I’ve started fresh with this testing.

No. The app displays info from the R4 and the R4 doesn’t do arrows.
