I've seen them twice. I play bass, I live for music. Do whatever you have to do and sacrifice whatever needs to be sacrificed to see them when they play near your home. The musicality and pure focused energy they create as an ensemble is a modern day symphony. This band is so good they will shape the future of music in America. If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is spend all my money promoting this band all over the world. Ultimately making the entire human race way more funkier.
smaller gigs are where the true music lovers are at. Huge arenas draw all the bandwagonners. I saw these kats in LA at a small spot and I loved every second of it. 15 feet away from me. Something way cool about that.
It's an absolute joy to see a band this good playing such a small gig. All these guys are talented enough to be touring with any big name they want to. They're choosing to come together to bring soulful live music to people. I agree a band this good should be selling out Chicago Theater. It's still cool to know they're willing to play more intimate gigs. Can't wait to see them at Reggies 9/21/12!!!
This night was the first time me and most my buds heard this band. They were amazing! Assuming you have been a fan of theirs for awhile now, I know what you're saying... not enough folks in this crowd.
They honestly might enjoy playing smaller gigs, I know for a fact as a musician I looove to play the more intimate venue. When you are separated from the crowd it's hard to feel the soul and where it's going.
but at the same time, some bands attract so called "band wagoners" for a reason: the music. as long as SP stays true to the music, i dont care if they blow up huge and play big venues.
That drummer is the hardest working man in show business.

@851852093114208513 You can buy their cd's through online sources at 10-15 dollars a pop. DEFINITELY worth it.

piano intro is real shaky, weird.
@adamboms Give me a good band in a small venue ANYday against a big venue...too impersonal.
