There is a hole provided over the sleeve. Its normally plugged. There are 2 holes which are plugged. You just need to remove the plugs and put the poker gauge. Every ship has poker gauge in its store. And once you take readings, you check with max limit provided by maker yard. Also compare with last dock readings which is present in previous dock record. Then if its in limit, show it to class for approval. And you do not need to open and replace ST liner.

why poker gauge is inserted at the bottom, if wear down can be taken from top?
