I absolutely love ❤️ watching you all do food prep. I’m almost 58, single, no kids and live alone on a set income but I tried this and I actually saved money last month. No waste and no searching the freezer, fridge, or cabinets to find things. Thanks so much for sharing your time with us.

Try cutting the bananas in half and put sticks in them. Melt the chocolate in a coffee mug and just dip it then. Can also roll them in ground nuts or coconut.

What you do with the veggies is something like what us puertoricans do. We chop up garlic, peppers, onions, cilantro etc and add it to flavor all types of food we make...we call it sofrito. As always love watching you and your family, thanks for sharing..😀❤👍

My step mom is Puerto Rican. So I grew up on sofrito. It's so good. When my dad and my stepmom got married it was hilarious because we were so white, corn-fed White when it came to eating. Then my stepmom started cooking and it was like where have you been my whole life? Food became so good. I always keep sofrito, adobo, and saffron in my house at all times.

Same with Haitians 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹. We don't chop tho, we crush them using a mortar and pestle, or a blender with vinegar, salt and hot pepper and keep it in a manson jar. It's called Epis. We use that blend in everything

You can also dehydrate your veggies to make your own veggie soup mix. I puree onions and freeze them in ice cube trays and then put them in freezer bags. A tray of 12 is equal to 1 cup.

The food dehydrator makes me so excited. We've been trying to decide if we'd use one enough to make it worth the purchase for several months now.

We use our chopper on all are garden veggies, we have celery, peppers, onions radishes, carrots, but there veggies we like, I never would have thought to use a food processor to almost puree the veggies for picky kids, great idea.Love our food saver, food last much longer, bags are a little high, but in the long run food last so much longer. As much as you cook, you could do so much in the bags.

Handy tip: Dip apples and pineapple in a honey water mixture. It keeps them from turning and makes a nice crust on the fruit. If you need lemon juice to stop the fruit from turning brown, honey works.

Amy, I truly love and appreciate your videos. I would love to add, you can get the jar attachments for the vacuum sealer if it has that feature. We dehydrate and then place in large jars and seal with the vacuum sealer. Also, you can dehydrate marshmallows which are fun. We buy large blocks of cheese and break then down into smaller 30 slices or so...then vacuum seal for the freezer. We bought a instant pot because of seeing you prep your chicken. Lol. You my lady ARE AWESOME

Thank you SOOOOOOO much!! You cook so much like I do that it finally clicked and I made my first ever batch of freezer dinners!!!!! I love your videos because it’s not 30 types of soups or dump casseroles.
No one cooks with real food anymore and I made so much variety!!
8 hours two days each (including shopping) will feed us for a month!!!
Enjoying so much the fruits on my labors and my kids are loving sit-down dinners rather than throw it together buffet style.
I always feel these bursts of cooking moods but most days I don’t have time for gourmet.
All of my meals are delish I even tried the pasta shells. We’ve never had them but so far they are a hit.
I even made up a recipe (jalapeño popper/chicken stuffed shells) hubby loved it.
8 kids it intense and this is insanely doable and fun!!

If you haven't tried dehydrating mini marshmallows, you should try it! Your kiddos will love em to munch on and to use in hot cocoa etc... when you dehydrate them they become little crunchy candies and you store them in zipper bags or big glass air tight container. They last forever and they don't stick together like when you put them in the cabinet (they get sticky and melt together).

The veggie mixture you made is something similar to what Family makes. My Family is from Panama. Many Latin and Caribbean Countries makes this. I call it Sofrito. But there are many names for it. Overall it’s Fresh Seasoning. We use Onion, Garlic, Bell Peppers, Scallion, Cilantro, and other fresh herbs depending on who is making it and what works for them. But!!! We DON’T cook it. You can store it in a canning jar or put it in those deli containers and store it in the freezer. Mine usually last a month or so depending on how much I make. Search for Green seasoning and sofrito. There are so many recipes. You’ll love it!!!

Amy I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I think doing those veggies and garlic will add so much flavor and nutrition to all your dishes you use them in. YOu inspired me to take out my dehydrator and do something. I would use it more often but it kind of stays tucked away and I have to find a spot for it when I want to use it, same with my vacuum sealer. But I found some chicken for a good price the other day and I am going to vacuum seal most of it. I know what you mean about trying to make room in the freezer. Lol Oh, that blender is exactly what you needed too. So happy they sent you one. They seem like a great company with quality products that 's for sure. Maddie is so darn cute! The dried zucchini (and other veggies) are great to add into soups and stews. A lot of packaged bean soup mixes have a bunch of dehydrated veggies like carrots onions, zucchini in them.

You have more dry good storage space on top of your kitchen cabinets if you want it. Also, I totally sympathize with those packed freezers. Have you considered flattening all the packages you can before you freeze them? It might make them easier to pack in or at least find.

They are a little pricey but girl, you will save more money your first year...then the cost. We seriously bought ours for about $80. Saved well over 1,000 our 1st year since we didnt have to throw out meat that was freezer burned, cheese that molded etc. The bags, inexpensive on Amazon too

I've watched quite a few of your videos and I'm now subscribed. Although we have no children (by choice) I still get some really good ideas for meal prep (on a smaller scale) for my husband and I. Thank you so much for your vlog. I wonder if you have ever made dehydrated kale (kale chips). I've never tried them but my sisters swear by them. Also, you mentioned dehydrated apples and strawberries. I found a really easy fruit leather for the dehydrator. I blended strawberries and grated apple together to make a sort of thick slurry just like your apple leather. The apple adds enough pectin to make the strawberries work for leather. Also, good tip on the food processor. My husband has the pallet of a 5 year old to I sneak veg into some of his food this way. He has no idea. I also sacrifice canned beans sometimes to get veg in too. He doesn't like beans so I can put another vegetable he's not fond of in and the beans distract him while he's pulling them out he ends up eating the other veg without realizing. Sometimes I even disguise a veg he doesn't like with others of similar color so he doesn't suspect (like cutting butternut squash up the same size as carrots and sweet potato). This way, if he lifts up his fork and says, "what is this?" I can say, "probably a carrot" without lying (I do not like to lie ever if I can avoid it).

I love this lol. I haven't made the kale chips...I did them in the oven one Time but the dehydrater would be great! Yes we love the fruit leather .we will do again soon..purree veges we do it all the time lol. Thanks for sharing the details!

Just a hint on the vacuum sealer if the inside of the bag is wet make sure you dry it or 1. The bag won't seal or 2. It will seal but might lose the vacuum over time.

I had a ct scan of my heart I’ve been weak ever since cardiologist said my cholesterol level is 14.3. I’m not overweight! My dr prescribed pills to lower cholesterol and after 2 days she called personally and told me to stop taking the pills because they may counter react to my heart meds. Now I’m waiting for results and appointment from my cardiologist. That’s what my dr said to do. Idk anymore I went to appointment alone because I had no one to go with me. I have no parents I was born in the system Nd my oldest daughter lives in Vancouver and my youngest who’s 19 takes care of her father who is suffering from cancer. Can you say a prayer for us plse? I love you sister in Christ

Lord Jesus. I thank you for the opportunity to be able to be part of her life .even if through the internet. I know you brought her here for a reason and I am believing it is to encourage her and to show her a better way. Lord i ask that you fill her mind with peace .fill her heart with joy...let her know that no matter what is going on around her she has you there. That is all we ever need. I am praying for her body , mind, and soul be healed. Show her the things she must do and i pray for peseverance to do them. We are not alone and have you to look for our comfort. I ask all these things in your name we pray amen

A really easy and tasty summer meal is chicken bacon ranch pasta salad. 1 lb box of pasta, rotini works best, 1 packet of ranch dressing mix, half cup of sour cream, half cup mayo, 8 oz. of cheese cut into small cubes, half cup real bacon bits, 2 chicken breasts cooked and cut into small cubes (or use rotisserie chicken etc (about 2 cups) and whatever veggies you like. Cook pasta, drain and cool. add the Mix sour cream, mayo and ranch mix together season with pepper to taste, mix everything together in a large bowl and enjoy. If leftovers seem a bit dry, add a splash of milk and mix.

Hi Amy, from your friend in Virginia Beach. I love watching your videos. I have absolutely no problem with how fast you talk. I love it. We may be related. However, your definition of easy and mine are 2 different things. I live with 2 of my adult boys and currently work 40 plus hours. I would love to start a smaller scale of food prep, even though my 2 boys probably eat like 4 of your kids! We eat out way too much simply because we're exhausted after work. Any suggestions? Keep doing the fantastic job you do. You are truly the high spot of my day. Thank you so much and sending love and prayers your way, Monica

Start small. Just pick a meal that you normally make and double it. Then freeze the second one for a later time. One suggestion is cook all your ground beef and freeze ..takes less time to cook . Separate all your chicken and put in bags with marinade and then put in slow cooker or pressure cooker . Make salad in small containers for lunches . Hope these help. Nice to meet you
