With the recent release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Nintendo Switch (Mario 64, Mario Sunshine & Mario Galaxy) for the Mario 35th Anniversary, I've seen a few probelsm which I really think need to be fixed or improved. So thats exactly what we did! Me and my good ol' chum @Jacadamia redesigned menus, boxart, and concepted other elements we think could be improved!

The menu design ideas kind of remind me of the Mario Sunshine menu how you control Mario to select your file and option. Other than that, good idea for the startup!

glad somebody thinks the way i do, i have a HUUUGE amount of nostalgia for mario galaxy 2. i didnt even know about the original mario galaxy for a while. i remember i got it for my wii in like 1013-1014 because i broke my arm and my parents never heard the end of it. i had played it nonstop. i miss the amount of joy i got from that game in that tme. when i heard about 3d allstars, i nearly cried. i bought it and ive played daily. it just doesnt feel right without that one. BRING GALAXY 2 BACK!

My only memory of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is buying it *specifically* so I could unlock Rosalina in Mario Kart Wii, only to realize with horror that this method only worked with the original Super Mario Galaxy and I essentially wasted my money for nothing.
Needless to say, the game has had a tarnished reputation with me ever since.
That's what I'm going to do with the OG. Only need her, Dry Bowser and Mii suit B.

The only thing Nintendo did to "fix" it was patch things. They patched Mario Galaxy 2 out of existence
Did they patch any annoying things in any of the games and am I the only one sad they didn't do more with collection. Its amazing don't get me wrong but its just the games and a bad music player
They even patched non-annoying, fan favorite glitches like BLJ.

I never really got into the Mario games as a little kid, but now I get to experience the hype everyone has been talking about. These games can now be my childhood and entertain me in ways everyone else was entertained. So I'm a little bit annoyed that everyone is whining and complaining that Galaxy 2 wasn't added. I am thankful that I got these ports. I also love how every time you boot up the game, a soundtrack from one of the three games plays. So I feel like I got my money's worth.

I'll always bring it up, Kirby's Dream Collection. Does the museum aesthetic you pitched, with concept art, some episodes of TV show, six games, and some challenge modes in Return to Dreamland playstyle
Again, this is an anniversary, which is something to celebrate. Removing Galaxy 2 and giving us emulated versions of Sunshine/64 with minimal menu personality makes it feel almost lifeless. The games are still great, for sure, but it'd be nice if Mario 64 could get some control tweaks, blue coin tracking in Sunshine, and...yeah I can't think of much to improve with Galaxy, I have a normal controller now and that's about the only real complaint I had with Galaxy 1/2.

3D All Stars is essentially running the games on an emulator on the switch, so while some modifications to the games are easy to do (texture upgrades should be relatively easy; SM64's camera control changes can be done by a control remapping), some aren't (the blue coin changes you asked for would requires them to go back to the source code from all those years ago to make the changes; asking a wii emulator to read Switch mii data requires even more work on the technologies)

when I played ds Mario 64, toad said your allies are is the walls, so I spent HOURS looking for a secret door inside the wall just mashing the a button after moving every pixel. I also played galaxy and my friend kept on stealing my controller when I picked Mario so I had to play as Luma.
Personally I thought it was cool that they ported the games but I’m not paying 60 bucks for 3 games I already own

I think adding galaxy 2 from the start could be simple cause for the box art you could have it where 64 is top left, sunshine top right, galaxy 1 bottom left and galaxy 2 bottom right

There's seemingly a "code of conduct" that if you have bought games legally, emulating them isn't "bad" -- seeing that they really are just ports, I say just emulate and find enhancement mods of them if you already bought them before.

I personally think that the reason galaxy 2 was missing was to make the box art look good because if they were to add galaxy 2 on the box art they would have to cramp all the other games into the corner to be able to fines galaxy 2 in there leaving little room to show of the box art of the all the games on a cover art that does not look that appealing in the first place.
I don't know why anyone I see talks about galaxy 2 not being in 3d Allstars it makes logical sense after all but ever other point makes

The best experience to play Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo switch can be Achieved through homebrew by installing the switch port of super Mario 64 PC You could achieve 60 FPS and HD with that method and you could install the render 96 models for the 3D remaster experience

The biggest problem is how on the title screen it cuts off the end of the star jingle
One thing I would add to the menu you and jack made would be when you start the game. For example, when you start up Mario 64 you could have Mario jump into the painting, for sunshine, you could have the plane starting up and fly into the sky and for galaxy, just have Mario jump into the warp star

You do realize that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was meant to be in 3D All stars, but they did not have enough time to port it over.
Also Galaxy 2 has different controls than Galaxy 1.

@@CubitBot it's meant for people who have played them. If it was meant for a new audience then it wouldnt be limited. You can tell when Nintendo is going for a new audience. Just look at the Wii U ports and deluxe versions. They are very clearly trying to get people who didnt play these on Wii U to play them on Switch. That's not the case with the collection

The whole limited time thing is a complete joke. There was so many copies sold that it’s really easy to get a used (or even new) copy from GameStop or Walmart these days.
