Aphex the goat! Fun fact, this track featured alongside a Weirdcore project back in early 2021 called “Future Shock.” It would also be the track that would appear if you scanned the big QR cubes at the Denmark, Barcelona and Stockholm shows of last year. This should’ve been on the record icl!
So damn good. The standard version became one of my favorite Aphex songs instantly and this ambient version is heavenly. Can't wait to lay on my back in the dark and slip into Unity with this track.
Fan since the early 90s, saw RDJ last year at Forwards Festival. It was fucking incredible, life affirming stuff. My missus hated it as much as I loved it.
In an interview promoting Syro, he confirmed that he'd been asked to score films but wasn't interested. Films are a directors medium and he didn't want to cut 0.5 secs off a loop here and there just to fit an edited scene.
I'm not kidding when I say this is one of my favorite ambient pieces of all time. I love to play it after the percussive black box... Sometimes I play it before though 😉
