My wife and I fished many years together and now I'm on the door step of sixty watching you guys have all the fun ! Enjoy each other and grow together in the spirit, it is said by those of old that the food has never been better and the wine never tasted sweeter than for those who have experienced life's greatest gifts.
Welcome back Jay, you've been missed. As always, loving your enthusiasm. You're a ray of sunshine! And Cole, you're always fun to watch! God bless and keep you both safe always.
Caught bigger in lower Mississippi creeks but very glad you are for y'all catching these. 50 +and and you will have to help her. Love y'all's videos. Most young people are afraid to sweat. Cudos to y'all.

Who would want to watch movies when you have the Cole and Jay show!!! You two crack me up. I've never seen a bowfin, I would love to catch one. Great footage and video. Bravo
It is great to see you guys getting so much joy out of fishing. Everything is always positive even when things aren’t going well. Very refreshing. Wish you all the best.
Cole & Jay, Just wanted to say thank you for the awesome times you've shared with all of us. Cindy and i both think you should dig in and stay where you are. What you have is a little piece of heaven there. The lake will be back. Do your dock renovation and have it ready for when the tide comes in 😊. Be safe always and please put floaties on the little ones arms while on the dock. Be well, Dan & Cindy/Utah ❤
Great to see the content today. One of the reasons I, and I’m sure many others also, watch is because of the variety of your content. Not just the same “cookie cutter” stuff. Keep it up, we love it!! I know getting this is really difficult but it’s why your channel is so successful!! ⚡️💥
Cole great to see the two if you out there. Cant wait to see thd slab queen back for real. Hey on another topic, how about an idea for future videos. Once they drain the lake behind your house how about showing the draining and the process of rebuilding. You could show it from the point of view of 2 people with your degrees and specialties. Hmmm. Could make some good TV.
Welcome back Jay, my wife and I enjoy watching you two. I lost my fishing buddy last year, my brother to cancer. My wife and I started watching you two last winter, it inspired my wife to start going fishing with me. We been hitting it hard this year thanks to you two. Keep up the awesome work you two God bless!
So sorry to hear of your loss, good to hear you're turning it into a positive experience with your wife. I lost a good fishing buddy a while back as well. Be blessed.
Nice family Jay you have a sweet smile bright up peoples day Cole please take you time reel in the fish feel the fish on the pole To me feeling the fish fight for the life more fun then how many fish you can catch or how big Please given the fish a chance thanks for sharing with us
I have never seen Bowfin before, I have watched a lot of fishing video's, your video's is the only one that shows the Bowfin. I have read up on them but not many anglers eat them. Exciting fishing video.👍
We call them Choupique where I'm from in Louisiana...and they are great eating if u clean them in time since the meat does get mushy after about an hour of them dying but then we make Choupique balls rolling the mean in bread crumbs and deep frying it.... Happy 4th guys.. Heyyyyyyy J welcome back
They say that those bowfin are pretty good to eat. Might have to try one some day and let us know if they are any good to eat. Just looked it up and it’s hard to believe that the record is 21 pound 8 ounces. Good luck and really appreciate your hard work. God bless y’all!
you don't set the hook when you use a circle hook, you just let him take it and then reel, nice video we call them choupic down in Louisiana and they are a blast to catch
I think the Bowfin is the "Snakehead" of the south. Have you ever eaten one? I was told they were very good. But I was also told carp are great too! The Bowfin has a modified "Lung" and can live in some very harsh conditions'
Did you know my uncle Robby Horton caught a 27lb boffin in 1991 in West Alton, MO. On a slough off the missippi river. It was normal time for us!!!I We sure do miss those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No bow fins in my area. It's been really tough landing fish. I fish both sides of the river in every spot I can get to on shore. I have no boat so I fish from the shore. Sometimes I'll use knee high rain boots. I may need to get better rain boots. They hurt my feet and legs so time to save up and get better boots. I'm going to the pond for awhile. Maybe the rest of the summer if conditions don't improve in the river. Been low tide alot. High tide sadly is brief for 1 to 2 hours tops. The tide got super low late at night. 🙄
Your secret spot used to be a beautiful bayou until the ar game and fish cut all the trees down channelized the waterway and filled in everything just leaving a ditch I used to spend the day there in the shade fishing clear water watching ducks and beaver and otters sadly this place will never recover.i do love your videos
I don't have a photo of it but I do have a painting I did of this exact same spot it used to be my little piece of heaven.we used to catch willow catfish there similar to bullheads but get bigger and are good eating
cole, are you sure that the one in the second video that jay caught with the ring on the tail was a bowfin. i saw a florida video where they were catching snakeheads and they said that the ring like that was one of the differences between the bowfin and snake head. i should have gone online before leaving this comment to make sure that i was right or not, but it's late and i want to finish this long video before going to bed. either way, nice catches to you both and i love your vids
In Northwestern Pennsylvania there used to be a lot of bowfin in the ponds lakes and streams and even in Presque Isle Bay now they're starting to come back because of conservation I sure would like to come out in your area and catch a bunch of them and bring them back here and put them in my Lake the lake is about 250 acres and very deep
You guys should get rod holders to stick into the dirt. That way if you're helping the wife pull her fish in you won't chance losing your nice baitcaster.

Can you blame that bow fin, looking at J, LOL
Hey Cole I thought that UPS truck was bringing you your order ☺️
Did you know the world record bowfin was caught in 1980 and weighed 21 pounds wow
you don't set the hook when you use a circle hook, you just let him take it and then reel, nice video we call them choupic down in Louisiana and they are a blast to catch
I was told snakeheads are fantastic tasting. But still waiting to see them in pa. Not here yet
Those aren’t snakeheads.
Cole, I have noticed your vast knowledge of fish and snakes, I was wondering what is your educational background ? you a smart feller!
Are those hats available? That gold 6 on black is sweet. That’s the style I wear. Hard to find too. Nice catchin!
Come and listen To the excitement Again, my friend
We have a lake here in Pennsylvania with big bows what a blast to catch
Those bowfin are cool. Have you guys ever hear them called cypress bass ? Louisiana call them shupic ( shoe- pic )⁉️
It’s good to see Jay out of the house, moms need time away from the Kid or kids awesome job fishing
I think the Bowfin is the "Snakehead" of the south. Have you ever eaten one? I was told they were very good. But I was also told carp are great too!
The Bowfin has a modified "Lung" and can live in some very harsh conditions'
Dang I live in South west Louisiana we don't have awesome places like that to fish in
Good to eat also, I have eaten many. Leftover turns into fish Patty's.
Join in the fishing escapade from Rockford Illinois
Did you know my uncle Robby Horton caught a 27lb boffin in 1991 in West Alton, MO. On a slough off the missippi river. It was normal time for us!!!I We sure do miss those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s a monster!!
you dont need to set the hook with circle hooks thats why you missed some bites
Didn't know Snakeheads were around the midwest. Florida yes.
@@caneanddawgfan4life Definitely wasn't a bowfin.
@@marcmo7138 Bullseye snakehead !!
I caught a northern snakehead somewhere in this video. They are invasive but the bowfin are not

I think bullhead are one of the best eating catfish. I grew up eating them.
Jay's back yard ❤
Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸
People here in south Louisiana would go crazy over that fish they call it shoepick they are delicious
Your secret spot used to be a beautiful bayou until the ar game and fish cut all the trees down channelized the waterway and filled in everything just leaving a ditch I used to spend the day there in the shade fishing clear water watching ducks and beaver and otters sadly this place will never recover.i do love your videos
I wish I could have seen it back then. Probably what the main lake is fixing to look like
I don't have a photo of it but I do have a painting I did of this exact same spot it used to be my little piece of heaven.we used to catch willow catfish there similar to bullheads but get bigger and are good eating

Bowfin also have the black spot on their tails. The bullseye snakehead in Florida has it too. We mostly see it in male fish.
Mud fish hole!!!!😊
Wow, looks like it should be 20 lbs!
They are called Choupic in south Louisiana
In Northwestern Pennsylvania there used to be a lot of bowfin in the ponds lakes and streams and even in Presque Isle Bay now they're starting to come back because of conservation I sure would like to come out in your area and catch a bunch of them and bring them back here and put them in my Lake the lake is about 250 acres and very deep
Sure, do like these long form days.

O that's bofin
And for your information out of all the catfish Bullhead taste the best
You guys should get rod holders to stick into the dirt. That way if you're helping the wife pull her fish in you won't chance losing your nice baitcaster.
Her Majesty, the Slab Queen is BACK!!!!!
where im from we call them mud fish...its fun to catch them
Was that a bowfin or a snake head?
In many states it's illegal to release a bowfin back into the water after you catch one as they are a very invasive fish!
Bowfin aren’t invasive species in North America. Snakehead are though
What kind of fish are they?
Is this location in Mayflower?
