    Ormandy came to this country in the early '20's and played for silent films and radio orchestras. Also made some violin records. He got a good agent (Arthur Judson) who arranged for him to fill in for a sick Toscanini which lead to the Minneapolis job in 1931.

    You can see that the label says Stothart but its wrong. I really like this tune.

    Thanks for posting this great song. Now I know that the version I posted credited the wrong composer which I'm correcting. The label was wrong.

    This recording has a rather boxy sound from acoustics inside the Hal Roach Studios locale.

    Ormandy is conducting that too! This was before he was famous - he became conductor of the Minneapolis Symphony in 1931.
