    Awesome. Im recently getting more into paint models, cars atm, but I just injoy them. I dont play any games, i just enjoy building and making things, but I have nowhere to store or display them. The idea of selling, at a loss, crossed my mind as I wasnt doing it for any specific reason. It cost a fair bit. This gives me some hope, motivation, that I could now buy and sell minatures. I do art and 3d modeling, so Im a good painter. I can kill the fear of money by enjoying my hobby and maybe making money at it. Even to break even would be awesome. When I was younger I used to paint my brothers Warhammer stuff for fun. Thanks for the video.

    Hey there I appreciate the golden nuggets of advice. I wish I would have watched this video before I put several Miniatures that I spent a crap load of time on all together and then sit them out on their own in the cold world of bidding next time I'm definitely going to set them as by now also I've painted those wizkids models before but I didn't think to sell them it is true there are a lot of people on eBay and a lot of them play D&D so I'm definitely going to be painting up some cheap models selling them for hopefully a lot I just got to be more realistic I literally thought in my head that I was going to blow people away what's my talent and there's going to be a bidding war but I can see that most of the buyers are people that sell painted miniatures so I guarantee they're going to sell them for a crap load more but oh well you live and learn this time I learned from you I appreciate it you good sir get a subscribe and alike I apologize for the lack of punctuation is all speech-to-text connected really just go on and on forever like this you're probably tired of reading I need to go make love to my wife first I need to brush my teeth goodnight

      RedBeardBoss It would make a very interesting video if you bought say, 5 different D&D characters and painted them up, and showed the process of you painting, listing, packing and sending the miniatures off and showing how much profit you made. It could be a little series where you do one model per video.

      Hope you enjoy the videos! I painted an Owlbear last night on camera if you want to see how I approached a speed painting. A good rule for small stuff is the shadows have to be a little darker to create contrast since the small models dont cast dark enough shadows on themselves from the lighiting in the room

    Hey do you have a video on ebay costs and what not? I started listing minis after watching your videos! Thanks for the encouragement BTW, I started to sell but was not expecting the 12.5% in ebay fees which comes out from the calculated cost with shipping and tax. Maybe I am selling wrong or there is something I can do to avoid this? No idea, but figured I would ask. Thanks in advance!

    I have a question- it's kind of random. So I have an airbrush gun, and when I ordered it a long time ago, I (purpose was to be able to do miniatures and use it for whatever way I could make money from it) but I'm an idiot and I didn't realize it didn't come with an air compressor. The ad was pretty misleading, but like I said I'm also an idiot. Now for unrelated reason, I wasn't able to order one offline afterwords. And I'm not now either. But back then I was able to go look everywhere to try to find an AC, because I could drive. I never did find one that I could afford but I did find a a pretty strong tire inflator, and another small usb powered tire inflator and I thought maybe somehow I could alter it to work for mine. I have looked and looked and haven't been able to figure it out. I have Epilepsy so I cannot drive around and look now because at this very moment it is uncontrolled (happens every now and again when my seizures start up again real bad). I also at this moment can't shop online to look. So my point is, have you ever had to rig or figure out your own air compressor situation for your airbrush gun that worked?

    • @redbeardboss
      @redbeardboss  3 года назад

      I have never done anything like that. I started with a mini air compress used for like cake decorating and then I got one from China on Ebay and thats the one I have been usng since

      I bought a cheap airbrush with USB-rechargeable compressor from here: www.neatandhandy.com/products/premium-airbrush-for-hobbies-crafts
      It was about $50 total and is working great for me. I've mostly used it for priming and zenithal undercoating so far, but based on other reviews that I've read it seems good. Perhaps sell the airbrush gun you got and buy this instead?

      I prefer working with plastic but i think some models ive seen sell for a lot are metal. People may think a metal model.is more special but i dont know first hand. Try one of each! Or best bet would probably be get a 3d printer and paint and sell resin models

      It depends if the models are rare. I for example have collected all the old space wolves models in lead. In the process of collecting i ended up with multiple models of same character etc. And then sold them on both painted and unpainted on ebay. I made over £2000 (english pounds) doing that and made over 150% profit.
