I think the word you were looking for at the end there was shame. Binging comes with a lot of shame but it’s something so many struggle with, but keep secret, so you feel alone and defective. I'm so glad u spoke on this, I joined WW online about a month ago, did so good for three weeks, had lost 13 pounds and the Sunday of the third week, I thought I'm just going to use my weekly points for some cookies and pringles and that led to seven days of binging and regaining five pounds, I felt so defeated, but just now watching you, I thought if she still struggles after all she has accomplished I don't feel so alone thanks😘😍🥰
Hey Nikki! Love your channel! Bought your cookbook! As a 72 years ‘young’ WW Lifetime member I can attest to the fact that for me binging is my lifelong reality. Over the years and with the help of Weight Watchers I have definitely made progress and am 5 lbs. under goal. I have always said that food was my drug of choice and realize that the addiction will never go away, but I remain in control, and I’m grateful for fellow compatriots on the same journey, encouraging and sharing their tips and tools to help ourselves and live the life we can choose. It is definitely worth it, and as you age, it is so vitally important to keep the weight off because as my mother always said if you have your health, you have just about everything!
I love that you showed dropping the ingredients down into the bowl to help us have a better idea of what the servings are, you know what they actually look like. It's hard to imagine what 10 grams of something is but seeing you drop in the little bites of cereal is very helpful
So glad to see this video today, I have been on a weight loss journey off and on for 50yrs. Joined WW in Dec. lost 16 pounds. But i have been been on a two week binge! It was nice to hear others have the same issues. Back on track so far today LOL But THANK YOU for helping me to not beat myself up any more than I already did. Keep up the good work. Perfect timing for me because I have been slipping into some old habits eating for comfort, when bored, when tired, etc. I’m also a social eater of “fun” food and drinks and we have visitors who love to indulge. No one’s prying my mouth open and sticking food in, so I’m taking responsibility and taking your suggestions!
Tuna mix mixed with Banza COLD elbows makes a great summer salad. Make tuna mix like you normally would. Let pasta cool, add tuna mix with a small amount of lite mayonnaise mix. Let cool in fridge. Really good. Wish I had your enthusiasm ! I can never get it together. Constantly joining and rejjoining WW, without any weight loss. I know it’s not WW, BUT ME . Keep up the great work, it’s not easy. You rock ! Oh, yeah Adam too .
Great idea with the snack mix. I have to drink water in small quantities many times a day. A large container is too daunting to me. This video has to be one of your best…you really hit so many good points.

Thank you so much for this, I’ve struggled with binging for nearly 7 years and I’ve been to so many doctors/ therapists and they’ve always just told me ‘just stop eating.’ I’ve always just needed something like this; actual ways to take care of myself and my needs and not just flat out ignore my well-being and wait for it to boil over into another binge. I’m gunna give this a go! You’re helping so many people ❤️

Thank you for your honesty and also how to approach this from a nuts & bolt, practical angle. I have struggled with this since I was a teenager and I'm significantly older than you. What's changed over the years is that the craving to binge is less frequent and less intense. However it still comes and sometimes I do give in. Having tools to avoid this (or to regroup if I haven't) is a lifesaver. Love your channel most of all!

Excellent post. I think this happens to everyone. I am currently struggling with this and have quit using the app altogether but I will start implementing some of these ideas (especially sleep and water!) and hopefully I can get back to basics. Nikki...when I wanted to see more of you videos I said into the mic "Nikki gets fit" but it misinterpreted "Nikki gets fed"..lol. Yes...I sm struggling right now with eating cookies! I did buy dome popcorn and different flvored salts snd stuff. We have a new puppy. 5 months...35 lbs labrador/mastiff. I have to sleep downstairs so she can see me while in her crate. Or she gets severe anxiety. So I know I'm stress eating! I miss my bed and my husband. I wake up sometimes wondering where I'm at! Lol. Thank you for your videos. I'm a binge eater too. I relate. This is the first presentation of any kind concerning emotional overeating that did not come across as shaming. (Shaming being a trigger for me. I so appreciate your taking the time and effort to do these videos, and providing very practical help. I've done Weight Watchers repeatedly since right around the time it was founded. (I'm really that old!) At first, it was losing fifteen pounds or so (with a normal BMI) because my mother thought I was fat. WW has changed so much, and I am very happy with the mindful eating approach. I'm struggling with meal planning, and your videos are so helpful! Again, thank you so much and God bless!

Hi Nikki... it's Friday afternoon and I just watched this video.... thank you so much for all your videos and all the help you've given me.... I've written down a lot of tips that you gave and I use a lot of your ingredient/meal ideas...My problem is that I seem to do good Monday through Friday during the work week but then once Friday after work hits theres always something that gets me off track....weekends at my house is like a roller coaster of food... friends and my kids friends are in and out of my house, they order so much take-out and that is something that sets me up for failure.... It seems like I just forget everything that I'm trying to accomplish until its too late...I go on a binge that lasts the whole weekend.... I just want one Monday morning that I actually want to wake up..... I'm tired of hating myself and feeling ashamed. I have been saved so many times by a piece of toast and a cup of hot tea before bed. I’ll add some fat to my toast- avocado, kerrygold butter, or peanut butter.

Nikki, thank you for your practical tips! I am personally more stuck on eating sweets and a lot of fats and not so much on snacking and salts. I did use a lot of behavior moderation in my eating disorder recovery like you did (planning meals, using healthier alternatives). Wanted to ask you if you ever challenged thoughts about overeating and read the book ''Brain over binge?''? Have you even attended OA meetings? I personally do better with 3-4 meals and almost complete abstinence from added sugars and sweeteners and less salt in my dishes. I had to force my taste buds to change. Recently I am challenging my thoughts that urge me to get sugar out of habit and delay eating a lot until I get home. Additionally I make myself not get an additional serving and ignore thoughts that urge me to eat more.
Good job Nikki! I’m struggling with drinking water…I can do it but my main issue is my worki environment; I teach HS and have only 5 min between classes with the closest bathroom a quarter mile away (not exaggerating! It’s great for steps but not for BR breaks). Most days I find that I barely have 20 min to eat lunch and I’m literally busy from the time I step in school (at 7am) to the end of my day (usually by 3pm)… Then when I get home I find that if I try to chug 64on or more, I’m up through the night since my body needs the BR… I have tried so many combinations of schedules…I even put a reminder for me to know to drink during the last 20 min of every class and force me to run to the BR…but honestly it’s soooo uncomfortable…not to mention if anything prevents me from leaving my class then I’m literally in pain during the entire next class…😂😂 suggestions are welcome!!!!

I'm 70 yes old and this is my 3rd ww journey to lose weight my goals changed from getting slim to getting healthy and I have lost 80 pounds and have been on maintenance for8 months and so far have maintained my goal weight. Some of my success has been due to some of the ways you fix bowls and other recipes that have shown me I can actually have a good serving and that is not full of calories or point heavy by using my 0 point foods. Gummy candy and chewy fruity candies like jelly beans, licorice, etc. are my kryptonite. I can eat them like air because they don’t feel like much, definitely don’t fill me up, but are super calorie dense. Haven’t found a really satisfying substitute so I’ve been trying to just not buy them.
I love nuts but I’m 64 and salt is not good for our hearts! Now I mix my unsalted mix of nuts with a little bit of salted. Also, I have a mild case of diverticulitis and the GI says NO NUTS. WUT??!!!! UGh!
Sorry if you've already covered this topic, but your 1st month of WW did it immediately work for you? My 1st month didn't work out. So now I am debating whether to do it again or just rule it out for me. I chose the cheapest plan just for tracking and tips. Thank you for your videos!

Gummy candy and chewy fruity candies like jelly beans, licorice, etc. are my kryptonite. I can eat them like air because they don’t feel like much, definitely don’t fill me up, but are super calorie dense. Haven’t found a really satisfying substitute so I’ve been trying to just not buy them.

I love nuts but I’m 64 and salt is not good for our hearts! Now I mix my unsalted mix of nuts with a little bit of salted. Also, I have a mild case of diverticulitis and the GI says NO NUTS. WUT??!!!! UGh!

Sorry if you've already covered this topic, but your 1st month of WW did it immediately work for you? My 1st month didn't work out. So now I am debating whether to do it again or just rule it out for me. I chose the cheapest plan just for tracking and tips. Thank you for your videos!
