Well done again for another great podcast. I'm a consumer here, so great to hear your insights. Now that the ban has been extended from 2025 until 2035 for oil / gas boilers, I can only see heat pumps becoming the norm., in newbuilds or if new Labour bring in something similar to the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive again.

Yet again this episode is a real eye opener and very interesting it has left me with food for thought about the hole solar and heating future it sounds like their are people jumping on the renewable bandwagon who are really only in it for one thing sounds like you really have to be careful about who you choice if and when you decide on who you use to install all of your equipment thanks again love this podcast theirs an old saying you pay for what you get go really cheap pay more later 🤔😎ps I think you need to use the same manufacturers equipment wise which I guess works better together on the installation and ability to talk to each 🤔😎

Have you reached out to Octopus to get one of their people on the podcast to explain their side of things?
Best be careful laying into those outside consumer units because they are made by Proteus!

Everyone is welcome to come on the podcast should they wish I dont think Octopus or EON or British Gas need us to get their side of things out lol. Its the opposite way around installers need a voice to counter against that.
Proteus make an IP65 consumer unit how designers choose to use that is on them. I know this is the position as I (Mark) work very closely with the legends at Proteus. Only 2 brands so far as I am aware state outdoor consumer units and those are BG and Lewden. I have tonnes of content around this issue across my social media and have worked with Proteus years. So zero issues their. This is a designer issue not a manufacturer one and it all traces back to energy retailers.
I am aware of incoming industry guidance that will be changing the landscape around that particular issue very very soon. So designers better think harder.... Perhaps installing loads more indoor, larger and newer switchgear for all the house. Improved safety and value for all, manufacturers, electricians and installers.
(speaking in my own personal capacity) Thats me Mark Allison. Whom are you if talking personally??
