I know literally no movie with him where he wasn't great. Top actor for sure, regardless of how big his role is, he always delivers
Love how he caught Colbert hesitating on remembering his last name then “chuckled” to signify it but Colbert didn’t even recognize tht he was aware of it.
the fabelmans is now playing
There are times where he's great, the movie... not so much
Paul Dano is a genuine artist.
I find Paul Dano such a fascinating person. i'm glad he's having more mainstream success because it means I get to see him talk about whatever. He's just interesting to listen to.
Never did I think we’d be led through pelvic floor release on Late Night. Thrilled to be here for it 🙌
In all these years, I have never seen an interview with Paul Dano. He is slyly brilliant.🤩
If you want more, I'd recommend his 2016 Colbert interview when he talks about the NBA Championship and Swiss Army Man.
@@betsy658 Thank you, I will look for it 😉
Paul Dano has been underrated for almost a decade, I'm super happy that The Batman and this finally gave him the recongition he truly deserves. Eventhough he was great in There Will Be Blood, he was still overshadowed by Daniel Day-Lewis incredible performance to the point that people kinda forgot that Dano was in the movie
He had a small part in Taking Lives as well. Which he was great in. Also, super funny in The Girl Next Door.... last 20 years have been good to him.
Did they? His performance in TWBB wasn’t just ‘great’ it was incredible.
Little Miss Sunshine is the first film I recall him in, he was extraordinary
Little Miss Sunshine... He has great presence. Classic.
Agree with Rare, he played a very unlikeable character, but he did it so well! It also showed what a generous actor he is, I think it was in no small part his performance that made Daniel D. Lewis shine even more. Every scene they were in together it just showed how well they played off of each other. The "I drink your milkshake!" scene, and many others wouldn't have worked nearly so well without Paul Dano providing that pure dismay.
And that 'exorcism' scene where Daniel D. Lewis' character is to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior? Man, that was pure gold. Again, in no small part to Paul Dano's theatrics.
His role as the Riddler though, I will agree, showed he was even more versatile, and can play dark and menacing just as well. That, I honestly hadn't expected. Like Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix and Jack Nicholson all claimed the Joker in their own way, Paul Dano made the character of the Riddler completely his.
Absolutely lovely, delightful human being. For those who have not viewed “There Will Be Blood,” Mr. Dano is remarkable, riveting! Best wishes… 🖖🏽
This guy looks like time travelled here from the 60s
Sure he does. But what about Paul Dano?
This guy is a legend. Unlike most vacuous Instagram narcissists. A true great.
@@phoenixzappa7366 True, but what about Paul Dano?
He may look like he's from the '60s but his brain is from 2023! He is ahead of his time and that's a good thing! Lube up the glove and stick your finger up your butt and relax it might even help you go to the bathroom!
True, but you've gotta admit, you'd buy his encyclopaedias.
That took an unexpected but hilarious scatological turn - I approve
my favorite circle man love you oaul
Paul Dano last night inspired me to want to go watch The Fabelmans. It will be my first time in a long time at a movie theater tomorrow. I think he was just brilliant on Colbert.
"I've been thinking about your sphincter..." love it.😝 I don't think I've ever seen him do an interview before. 🤔 Worth the wait! lmAo
Well, it worked. I got REALLY relaxed...
And then REALLY upset, while I waddled to the bathroom.
New Message guy you’ve been haunting YT comment sections for years now, I really wanna know: Who are you? 😂
@@visions_of_noah Niezsche asks that question, and good person, who are you? Who am I for that matter? to whom do all these comments belong? Who are you indeed!
Absolutely, no joke. we hold tension in our sphincters. Both in my martial arts, and yoga training, It’s an important lesson, controlling one’s sphincter controls one’s flow of energy.
in the television series 'The Americans' which is supposedly written around the experiences of KGB and FBI agents both, there is a scene where a KGB double-spy is instructed on how to beat an American lie detector test. I don't know to what extent it is true, especially since the 'science' behind lie detectors is shaky at best. Stll, I found it interesting.
Female spy being told to lie on the lie detector test "I can't do this! I can't!" KGB co-worker "Squeeze your anus." spy "What?!" co-worker "Squeeze your anus, as you answer the question." spy "Is this a joke?!" co-worker "No. Have you been providing information about Stan Beeman to the KGB?" spy, frustrated but visibly tensing up in her chair "No." Russian polygraph taker nods approvingly. Spy "It works?!" co-worker, grinning "It works."
I concur. I have always felt it is important in life to control one’s sphincter - particularly in public.
@@sevenprovinces I think it has to do with how tensing that part of your body affects your breathing/heart rate/blood pressure/etc. I would have thought it would make all those things increase, but perhaps because the muscles are large they draw blood from elsewhere and cause pressure to drop in your extremities.
Yes, losing control of one's sphincter would go a long way in drawing the wind from one's sails, so to speak.
But if relaxing one's sphincter brings one closer to a state of zen, porn stars must really have it going on.
@@leavingitblank9363 😵💫🤣🤣🤣
"say it...saay it.....saaaayyyy it!" " I HAVE ABANDENED MY CHHIILD!" TBH, I think great actors like Paul Dano can convince anybody to say anything! LOL
This made my night! Thank you both!
Paul said in another interview that "you have to delude yourself" into believing that you're this other person you are portraying in a film or on stage. Now I kind of understand the process he goes through while doing that. Then there are people like Leonardo DiCaprio who can just turn it on and off like a light switch.
Last night I watched this to see my favorite actor but left with some oddly helpful, life changing hole-related advice.
Thank you Paul! Awesome..best wishes.
This is a great time for a fart joke
Love this fell, adorable 💕👵🏽🙏🏽
I saw the fabelmans and loved it especially the young actor playing the Spielberg character
I love him 👍
So great!!! I actually get the sphincter!!
Stephen Colbert I was thinking about sphincter awesomeness job interview
riddle me this
He is such great actor. ❤️
Book'm Dano!!
It's all about the butt.🤣
Paul is such a lovely dude...
Amusing
Paul Dano and Bud Cort at the same age are such dopplegangers
This was funny😅
good ol' winky sphinky needs a good relaxing.
least expected line in the history of late night interviews
'Up' AND relaxed? One leads to the other, ideally, sure.. but at the same time? Nope. All pucker here.
I will pay more attention to his sphincter in his movies.
I tried talking to my sphincter and told it to relax. Once I did though, he responded.
That was funny, sure... I really never devoted much thought to my sphincter, and I hope he didn't just change that.
I love my sphincter, I think about it all the time.
@@CT-vm4gf no hate, my friend. 😂 was a joke from an old lady
For a moment you were so Johnny Carson when you said “what kind of movies are you making here “
I had the same kind of flashback!
haha he got Stephen for struggling with his name..
Royal dano talk about Cameron Mitchell
Kara Armijo used to do this with dream scapes I think.
he’s such a silly guy 🫢
Paul Dano is so relaxed his farts sound like wind through the Grand Canyon
You get " my overwhelming feeling of wind " Award‼️
Nicely done👌👌🦨🦨💥👀
Brad Donohue did a bunch of sports psych studies
🤣🤣🤣
He has the most beautiful green eyes. They look amazing.
😳 Your _sphincter?_ Don't relax it _too_ much.
Paul is right, Stephen…too much politics can be unhealthy…listen to him…
Where is his wedding ring?
😂😅😂
"...put your mind into your bottom..."
"Done and done."
-Donald J. T****, without missing a beat.
This got weird. Really fast.
Unconscious mind
Taint that beautiful?
Hi everyone
The Batman was good
"I want you to put your mind on your bottom." Dano doesn't know Steven at all. If he knew out of which part Steven mostly talks, he'd have known that it's a moot suggestion 😄
i am so sick and tired of there always having to be some sort of sexual innuendo in order for any of these guys to think they are going to get a laugh. I spent quite a few years in the company of children and the sexual stuff was not a part of the picture. but we had so much fun, found so much funny and were really really happy.
