He is so good and conveys so much of his character's emotions that I thought the father should have been the central character of the film. There is a real contradiction in him between the wonder he has for artists and the fact that his whole family lives thanks to his scientific "genius" (described as such in the film).
Thank you for this. We need to see more of him. Thank you for being one of maybe 2 people that know how to walk us through the footage with a good vocal registration, and intelligence.
I love this man. He's pretty, charismatic and so cute in some roles like teenager...😍 as in "Little miss sunshine". In a movie "For Ellen" my heart breaks 💔. Sadness suits him perfectly...
Pretty perfect list!! One of my favorites is his performance as Howie Blitzer in L.I.E. For being barely 16 and having to deal with such extreme subject matters as pedophilia and abuse, he knocks it out of the park as Howie. One of my favorite movies
I agree with you 💯. I love that movie. I also love Being Flynn, Tha Good Heart, which he was working again with Brian Cox from L.I. E. ,Youth. For Ellen, Swiss Army Man with Daniel Radcliffe. Plus the many other films he's been in. Like Little Miss Sunshine, Okja was such a great film, 12 Years a Slave, There Will be Blood. Even when he was only a teen he was in Too Young To Be A Dad, The Girl Next Door. Of course Ruby Sparks and The Batman as the Riddler. I think Paul Dano is this generations best actor 🤔 and I can't wait to see him again in films. He picks such interesting parts. He will be in Steven Spielberg's auto biographical film The Fablemans playing Steven's father. He hit it out of the park in Prisoners. Love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 you Paul Dano, continue your great works. Sadly I have never seen him on Broadway , maybe one day ,cross my fingers . One of my favorite movies is in Love and Mercy, he did an amazing job 👏 ❤️ 🙌 playing Brian Wilson of the Beatles. Thank you Paul Dano for bringing such great films to your many, many films.
@@victoriamcdevitt5382 I always thought he was a wonderful actor, but Escape at Dannemora was something completely new and different in terms of his range...
The man is a thespian giant. For Elen was so effective as a struggling musician; having this anxiety over what he should do with a daughter he truly doesn't know was nothing less than brilliant. In there will be blood he was superb as an Evangelical preacher whose real motive was anything but Godly. He brings so much subtle intensity to these difficult roles, definitely an A list actor and one in the same league as Joquan Phoenix.
Wow! He’s so great! So underrated and one of the best lesser known actors EVER. i hope the new Batman movie will show the world, force the world to see and reflect on his skill!
I loved the video, thanks. It's soft and so well edited. Inspired me! Also, I LOVE Dano's work, it's hard for me to choose my favourite character. But Dwayne and Hank have a special place in my heart. HANK IS SO REALISTIC, and scare, and weak..... so human. Also his platonic transgender feeling is relatable. Also, his character on "Too Young To Be a Dad" is memorable, he was a child as the character, I felt the emotion. And Klitz on "The Girl Next Door" is simply iconic.
He's wonderful in "BBC War & Peace" as Pierre, which is highly underrated. But my all-time favorite performance (which caused my obsession) is Hank in "Swiss Army Man".
My favorite performances of his…Shoot, well I LOVED him as Joby. I mean, that songwriting scene of him with the guitar touched my soul. He’s a really good dancer too (that scene was self-choreographed). I fuckin love The Beach Boys and got to see them live. Core memory right there. He gave a touching and familiar performance as Brian. TWBB was…Well, not my favorite. And that doesn’t mean I dislike it, it’s just an unpopular opinion that I have where it doesn’t fall into my favorites, though it is the movie that made me watch many more with him in it, so it still holds a special place in my heart. Fucking love his performance as Hank, I grew up loving Swiss Army Man. LOVED him as Calvin. I’m gonna say Dwayne is still my favorite. Dwayne is honestly one of my all-time favorite performances by an actor in general. Wait, shoot, Burt! I love Burt Fabelman too. He’ll be a close second and Calvin will be third. Because Burt had range and Calvin was a very “normal” character to play and he really pulled it off (I love Zoe Kazan’s writing. She finds extraordinary in the ordinary, which is hands down my favorite kind of screenwriting). Edit: PRISONERS OH MY GOD. He was SO GOOD in Prisoners. Shoot…I’ll make his Prisoners performance third actually, Calvin fourth, and Joby fifth. :) Additional edit: I love Jay too. Won’t make any changes to my lil top five, but I do love Jay too. Additional edit: Had a great theatre experience with The Batman. There were some guys who were clearly high who got scared by the logos. So there’s that. Freaking LOVE his performance as Edward though. He sounded so good singing Ave Maria and that’s actually because he sings. He does sing fr AND PLAY GUITAR. It’s like…Excuse me can you stop being talented for a second (affectionately)? (The band he’s in with the boys is called Mook. Listen if you haven’t. “Dress My Wounds” is my favorite song of all-time.) Wow. This comment went from me being normal to me being overwhelming and weird in the matter of seconds. I’m content with that. I just have appreciation for talented actors as an aspiring filmmaker and musician myself.
The fact that this includes Meek's Cutoff and not War and Peace is just...weird? Is this cuz this is a film-only channel? War and Peace is one of his greatest roles to date. And bro, it's pronounced Dane-O 😂 But it's cool, most people get it wrong, even interviewers.
He's taken over my life i can't
Same
you and me
god help us
He's my favorite actor
Barely talked in Prisoners, but his performance is exceptional. So chilling
That's true!
Barely talked… I wonder if he’s played another character like that…
His performance in The Fabelmans is also great and touching 💞
He is so good and conveys so much of his character's emotions that I thought the father should have been the central character of the film. There is a real contradiction in him between the wonder he has for artists and the fact that his whole family lives thanks to his scientific "genius" (described as such in the film).
Danonation never dies I love this man
He can create angst like nobody else.
I always sing his praise, his a brilliant actor.
Thank you for this. We need to see more of him. Thank you for being one of maybe 2 people that know how to walk us through the footage with a good vocal registration, and intelligence.
I watched all of these and listened to his music and everything. he's got a chokehold on me
Loved his performance as the Riddler
I love this man. He's pretty, charismatic and so cute in some roles like teenager...😍 as in "Little miss sunshine". In a movie "For Ellen" my heart breaks 💔.

@@victoriamcdevitt5382 This is so real
L.I.E is such a great movie his performance as Howie reminded me Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion a lot a real tour de force

Putting him in the same league as Joaquin Phoenix is a huge compliment, and the man totally deserves it. He is a great actor hiding in plain sight.
@@highonfilms Couldn't agree with you more.

Such an incredible talent.
He haunts my every movement
his performance for pierre is one of my favorites
Loved Dano on No country, great performance, brilliant, liked the movie.
Paul Dano Is The Coolest Dude

There Will be Blood is in a league of its own. Eli is a treacherous anti-villain.
love him sm man
Little miss sunshine at 8 is a crime
I love him so much
Great choices!
Likes him in prisoners a lot
He's such a good actor
Love & Mercy is hands down his best I think.

He was great in Swiss Army Man, but our favorite will be him in There Will be Blood :)
L.I.E. belongs on this list. 💯

Thanks for your feedback!
Escape at Dannemora made him star
I loved him since Little Miss Sunshine but that show solidified his talent
Yay. Gigantic is not in this video because that movie sucks ass. Little Miss Sunshine is the best one.
paul DAYno not danno sorry
but yh he’s my pookie❤️❤️
I thought the riddles was his weakest performances. But that isn't a bad thing. He's a 10/10 every other time!
What a fantastic actor!
I was gonna say, if TWBB isn’t #1, I’m going home!
p̶r̶o̶m̶o̶s̶m̶ 💞
Very high quality video and ranking for a high quality actor
