Hey Sorastro, any advice for someone who keeps putting off the hobby as they don’t have all the paints listed in you videos? I have the miniatures but worried it won’t look as good with the paints I have. Thanks for the Star Wars series too.
Hi! Sorry for the late reply.. Honestly, I'd suggest just using whatever paints you have access to, and don't worry about whether the mini looks as good as mine - it will look better than the unpainted plastic! Just choose and/or mix the colours you have to get close to what I'm using (or directly try to match the colours to the Clone Wars series). Just go for it, have fun, and you'll learn a lot along the way 😀
holy cow, i just stumbled across your videos. Not only are these one of the prettiest SW shatterpoint minis I have ever seen but you are also sharing all your knowledge with us. thank you for your content!
White is a tricky color to paint, always has been for me, and I'm still not even close to where I want to be in painting it. As usual, though, this gives a lot of good ideas and pointers to go along with the usual brilliant paint work you do, sir!
Thank you so much! I wanted to spend a bit more time explaining my thinking and choices in this episode, to hopefully help others approach painting white with a bit more confidence.. 🙂
Great work, as always, and so inspiring ! Would you please tell us the proportions of the Deck Tan/Black/Brown mixes (give or take) ? If you can't remember or if you would rather not to because of time or else, no problem ! It's already a wonderful opportunity for us to have such vision on your work !
Thank you so much! I'm afraid I can't remember the exact proportions of the colour mixes, but it's a good exercise to learn to trust your eyes, and balance the tones through your mixing.. 😀
@@Sorastro Oh the old one for the legion clones still holds up but you've evolved so much as a painter since then and you're the reason I paint with scale 75, so I was super excited for this. Well worth the wait. Thank you for being a continuing inspiration in my painting journey.
Amazing! I have learned so much from your videos. I was excited to see how much detail you would go into with the bigger scale, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Thank you! And absolutely! I actually painted Maul a few months back, and have also produced a video for Gar Saxon and his Mandos; they're just waiting for final licensing approval before I can release them, which should be some time soon.. 😀
Only thing I will point out is on the trooper. The strip above his T visor should be black. Not all the way around the rim above it. The back half is grey and the front White. The rim is back half white front half black
Yeh I know; the problem is that there should also be a white gap between the visor and the black strip which isn't sculpted on the model, so if you do paint the raised strip black, it will merge with the visor which I thought would look odd. You could do that with yours of course.. 🙂
This is some really great stuff. I love the attention to detail. Are you painting X-Wing miniatures as well? Would love to see Wedges black X-wing with the gold and green checkboard brought to life or Gavins Krayt Dragon paintjob.
@@Sorastro Yeah i can imagine. Being that skilled is a blessing and a curse. Oh well. I did sub so if you are ever painting X-Wings i will be here for it!
I know this is off topic, but you should really do a green goblin painting tutorial for MCP, I love your painting style and have yet to find a good one on RUclips. As a spiderfoes player, I’d really appreciate it
@Sorastro nice. Shatterpoint is my current go to game. Plays like an area control board game that uses combat to execute the control. Kind of a MCP 2.0
Haha, I have been putting off playing till I finished the core set as well. Unfortunately, I have been so enamored with your paint schemes that I decided to follow them. I have everything painted except Anakin and I have been eagerly awaiting the next video! Thank goodness for TTS, as I have been able to play shatterpoint with an out of state friend. The game is phenomenal btw!
Best miniature painter on RUclips with another fantastic tutorial - thanks for sharing !
That's very kind, thank you 😁

Do you ever intend on finishing up the Imperial Assault figures or is that series as complete as it’ll ever be?
Hi! After 53 episodes I think I'm pretty much done with IA tbh, plus I think I'd find it hard going back to that old, softer plastic.. 🙂
Great work, as always, and so inspiring !

Yes!!!! Good to have you back painting Shatterpoint. I've been waiting for you to do an updated clones recipe
Thanks, man! I wanted to give these guys a bit more love compared to my speed-painted efforts in the past.. 😀

Thank you so much! I'm very glad you're enjoying my approach with the Shatterpoint minis 😀
Great tutorial! Did you pin the figures to the bases for these or was glue sufficient?
Thank you, Chris! I just used superglue to attach them to the bases 😀
Thanks again, Sorastro! Will we be seeing the final squad of the core box (and beyond?) at some point soon? Have been looking foraward to Maul!

Need to get to 501 likes!
Still going through the video, but I just started painting the 212 and Cody, and I was looking for a good way to do the white. Thank you so much.
Awesome, thank you! 😀

Mine are already painted in your clone recipe, I‘m gonna watch closely how you paint the blue details!
Thank you for sharing
Awesome! I hope the video helps.. 😀
Great series of videos, I discovered this channel when getting back into the hobby and you've really come along since the first videos!
Thank you very much, sir! I really appreciate that 😀
Absolutely beautiful work!

Always a pleasure to see your work!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that 😀
Would you be willing to do a different clone legion colors video? With some of the lesser known gorups with no tutorials whatsoever ?
Hi! If I had the time, I'd love to! Do you have any particular favourites? 😀
@Sorastro the two I love the most are the 104th And doom legion I just think they're cool
@Sorastro have you done any clone videos In the past or is this a first?
Hey! I did a speed-painting type Clone video for Star Wars: Legion 🙂
@@Sorastro awesome
I got excited again seeing another of your videos hehe

Thank you! I actually published a PDF guide for the Green Goblin a few years back: sorastro.com/2020/09/16/2735/ 😀
Oh, and you'll find guides for Kraven and Carnage on there too (just use the little search bar) 😀
@@Sorastro thanks
Man, your work is just incredible.
Thank you so much! 😊
Awesome timing! I was about to start painting Rex! Congrats on your videos, they are always amazing.

Thank you so much! 😊
You get a chance to play at all?
Hi! I do have a regular weekly game night, yes. However, I'm putting off playing Shatterpoint until I've finished painting the Core Set.. 😁
