    Rehman Rashid was a prominent journalist with NST back then. The NST used to be the no.1 newspaper in Malaysia. They had these really great journalists/writers....their English and writing skills were just incomparable. Many have passed, though. Perhaps you may also be interested in Adibah Amin's books. Another great writer of yesteryear. Anyway, thanks for taking us along on your exploration.. Book Xcess in Cyberjaya Tamarind Square carries a lot of good stuff too. You might like the cosy, chill vibes there

      Thank you so much for watching the video and commenting on the book. I appreciate it. I remember buying the NST every morning, settling down on the floor and reading it for about 1 hour. It was a most enjoyable time. And screen reading can't bring that feeling back. Thank you for recommending Adibah Amin. I will look out for that book. And yes next time in Cyberjaya, it will include a visit to Book Xcess. I am not aware of it but look forward to it. Wishing you an awesome day 💪🏼

    How are you Mr Andreas, long time no see 😊
    Wow, what a fun journey! 🥰 I miss Kinokuniya a lot..the scent, the environment..always be a meaningful escapism everytime I go to KL. And those who comments about the wide range of materials there- from academic courses to the leisures; to me Kinokunita is the best. You're right about screen- reading Mr Andreas, I can't put that par with the feelings of reading, touching & scribing on actual & physical books. Can be crazy spending more than my budget on books sometimes to the extent I should carry a big trolley 🤦🏻TQ for bring us again with your vlog! 😊

      @@asiaminddynamics I didn't quite catch the title and author of your favorite book, enlighthen it again. I really like MPH bookstore, used to go to MPH in Bangsar Shopping Complex near to Damansara Heights where I used to live. Bought few books from there. During KLCC time, I had more favorite books from Stephen Covey, and even attended his famous training program Seven Highly Effective Skills at Petronas training center in Bangi. 3:24 Nowadays, bookstores are not doing as well as they did in the past, when people used to flock to bookstores. Bookstores now need to sell more than just books, such as stationary items, to stay profitable. Therefore, it is a high-risk decision for MPH to open a bookstore at TRX with its very high rental costs.

    • @asiaminddynamics
      @asiaminddynamics  Месяц назад

      A good question, actually. I don't know but I think that bookshops diversify their business. Also, they are in huge malls so it's easier to attract visitors. But I might be totally wrong. Hope someone else chips in. Thanks for asking 🙏
