Tuning: down 2 whole steps (C F Bb Eb G C), and even a bit lower than that to play in tune with Jimi.
Pick: Hendrix used a pick. I like to use my fingers.

Seems impossible that he improvised this acoustic masterpiece. He drew from his bag of licks, but to improvise this song is genius.

Reminds me of the words: "Chess is easy to learn, but takes a lifetime to master." I wouldn't say it's easy to play like Jimi, though. He's got a lot of flair and was extremely talented and creative. Add to that his showmanship and charisma which played a huge part in The Jimi Hendrix Experience. So much to learn from the cat.
It’s all about the feel too
You gotta be a natural born blues player! I play blues but learning someone else's blues song is on another level. Im gonna get this down. It's going to open alot of door of possibilities.

One annoying problem is the stupid video bar goes right across the tab line and stays when I pause it. I wish the tab line was just a tiny but higher but still a killer breakdown of the song.

I'm not very good guitar player and only recently I'm back to my music roots after drifting away to really weird stuff but for sure it's in my technical reach now. That was pretty sweet my dude. I've heard so many versions of this song I can't figure out which one I want to learn more. I'm not a huge fan of having to drop down tuning that many steps but I'd make an exception for this song that's for sure .

I just read your take on this song. I think he was totally down on his luck in USA, and he wrote this when he was getting ready to leave for the UK with aspirations of makin a whole lotta money. Sadly Jimi was seen as a money maker by his backers for them and not him. He was definitely a genius - and you too for making this video. Chase your dreams mate - and all my best wishes to you Oddy.

Thanks this helped a lot. I was switching between the tab and the video and it was a headache. With this I can stop and get each part down perfectly and I'm pushing right through it
Great! I hope I'm not going too fast. I've chosen this quick format after seeing too much of "put the second finger on the third string, and slide from the second fret to the third fret... bla bla" Those kind of lessons are unbearable to me. I like it short, sweet and to the point.
Oddnejm your speed is perfect and breaking it up into parts is very easy to pause. After you play each part I write the tab down in my notebook and then learn it
