Everytime you asked a probing question, she went on a long rant with endless tangents that never even answered the question. I feel so bad for people like her. Genuinely nice, patient, and kind ... and so misled.

Be generous. The world has become so secular today many dont even know the Lords prayer, who moses or david is. Many dont have faith today & she was just praising because she recognised that he did. I dont think there was any bad motive here.
I think what this highlights (and same with the Mormon discussions) is that most people are just normal people wanting to do right by their fellow man and live a good life. And regardless of our beliefs we all need a framework to place ourselves into to be able to orient ourselves in life. Even atheists have an unprovable physicalist framework they orient themselves to. A framework is not optional. It's required by the mind. None of that's the problem. It never was. The problem is and always has been the shunning and the isolationism and the micromanaging of people's lives. If you take those things out of the mix you just end up with a social group, and all social groups have their problems, just find one that serves you best. It's all good.
She is a very rare case of an very educated person existing in this organization. I myself befriended a doctor and I was waking up at the time. I asked:" Why are you, an educated women, believing in things such as things the organization claims? I mean what about science?" She said: " Well, science is all good, but what about conviction? Taking a stand for what's right. I was taken back a little by her answer. It was , at least for her a personal choice. I was not so lucky in life, because I was born into the religion,and had no choice. I realized how different a view it was. I realized it doesn't matter how educated you are. If they can control the information,they can control your thinking. And if they can't control your thinking they well try to control how you feel about matters of right and wrong. What it all comes to is, how can they get you to agree with them.

And why is that? I don't know the educational level of ever JW but u can tell you I saw most of my friends growing up discard any notions of going to a university in favor of a line of work that is recommended by the governing body. My father has a masters in English from Cal State San Marcos and another masters in Spanish from UCSB. actually if you check it out the text she used Dan 2v44 in context the whole of chap 2 is discussing human rulerships. Nebuchadnez dreams this huge statue head of gold breast of silver etc. Dan 8 actually names some, medo persia & greece. If you check further in Dan it talks of being in the 'feet of iron & clay' (our time), Then this'stone' not made with hands hits the statue & it becomes dust. Hence Dan2v44. Gods Kingdom/rulership is going to end all human rulership. Psalm 37v9,10,11 'the wicked' will be cut off. Jesus gives a clue who will be saved when he states at Matt 7v21 'Not everyone....but only the One DOING the will of my FATHER who is in the heavens will' So many 'Christians' will declare they know the Lord & do wonderful works in His name yet he says he doesnt know them. This whole video was a long talk on Thursday night but with a man instead of another sister! This sister is actually very intelligent. I didn't actually expect her to be so poised and articulate. last month i went to a holyday in Europe and for the first time i saw jws “preaching” with a cart, just sitting nearby and trying to smile…with ties and suits near to the beach-walk, smiling to ppl in shorts:) When I left them they didn’t preach with carts and after that I moved to a country where they are not allowed to preach publicly. I was in the mood to be talkative with them, but we came from the beach and swimming and we were rather hungry (for real seafood!), my non exjw wife said to me, dont waste your time. Probably the thought ( who knows, i could let some seeds…) came to my mind!
I really love the Planting a Seed method. We never know what little question nugget that we can share that will catch and linger in the mind to be brought out to ponder at a later time.

She was very nice. I do think she is very selective in teaching what she finds uplifting and positive. Is she aware of the scandalous activities the governing body members cover up. I e. The handling of crimes against children. Her answer on higher education was her perspective, not what j ws teach. So many other issues as well , from changing teachings , overlapping generations, use of blood fractions and let's not forget judgmental attitude. Wouldn't it be great if she were part of the discreet slave? That can t happen she's the wrong sex. She was made for the man, yet I don't know one person that came from the man. ??? When she finds out what is really going on in this organization I hope she will be able to handle the crush and not lose her faith in God. One thing they say and works is "if you have the faith you are better"... And they are not the only one, it's told in every marketing course.. The more you believe the more you are convincing. She seems sweet and intelligent, but one of those people believing because she's nice and really want the best for humanity. I know, my parents felt into because they were "nice people", and they found JW's "nice and gentle"... And they are still stuck because their mind has been trapped believing that they are in a loving community, and "the world is wicked and bad"... And I think those "sincere" JW's are the worst victim (and their kids), because they are being the most abused inside. All the cynical "sellers" males have "privileges" and are so "spirituals" (=show off a lot of hours...), are just fed by their ego to be the "cops of the community", knowing all gossips & cie, and in fact don't believe so much in "the nice gentle God", but believe more in a more "powerful" version of JHVH... Hollywood explosions style.

As for JWs telling me people, "We allow the Bible to speak for itself". Uh, doesn't almost every other fundamentalist, conservative denomination within Christianity who adheres to a literal interpretation of the Bible say the same thing? If the Bible "speaks for itself", then why should anyone ever undergo Bible study courses with the JWs if the text is so "self-explanatory" and requires no interpretation on the part of the individual reader? If the Bible's message is "so obvious", then why do Witnesses need to engage in public proselytizing activities? I don't believe that Satan exists, but if he did and if he tempted Jesus with promising to give him all earthly kingdoms, wouldn't that be kind of a pointless endeavor? I mean Jesus supposedly helped God create the world in his pre-earthly existence, and he supposedly gets to help Yahweh run the Earth after the Apocalypse anyway, so all the kingdoms of the world are technically co-owned by him. I think it's silly when fundamentalist Christians say, "Satan runs the world". I thought God was supposed to own the world since he created it, or at least you'd think he is supposed to, so shouldn't he be the one who is always running it regardless of whatever Satan does? If not, and if I believed that any of this were true...I would say that God is probably just as corrupt as the devil. You mean you're going to let an evil entity run around corrupting people just so you can prove a point? Is God that much of a narcissist? If so, please stay away from me and leave me alone, and keep your believers and worshippers away from me too. I think it's more likely that wealthy, greedy international corporations play a part in running the world. In some ways, they have a bit too much power. If you want to call that "Satanic", then fine.

Definitely do have some points here that I mostly agree with. Why is the bible riddled and so ambiguous? If God really wanted a message to be known, the Bible isn't clear on it as, again, you can get a billion interpretations of what's literal and nonliteral in the Bible.
It is interesting as a person who knows the reality of the underlying beliefs that she seems to not want to be upfront about the reality of her religion and it's teachings.

It's sad because she's so friendly and yet is slaving away to an organization that will throw her away in a heartbeat if she decided to think for herself. We were all there at one point as JWs, just like her, standing there poised confident in our WT teachings. Confident we had the truth. I feel sorry for her, normally I get angry at JWs but sometimes my heart just sulks for some of them because they are truly delusional and don't even know it. 😔
She is confident in Jehovah. Why is it so hard for people to believe Gods house could be led astray? Didn’t it happen over and over in the past? Christ will deal with all the wrongdoing when he actually returns. Why turn against Jehovah because of some problem with the watchtower? She did sound quite intelligent, most of us would not been able to handle this with such poise. I would never have given her my number. Before the chart day. I had spoken to two Witness in my early twenties and in my mid-thirties and when they changed the conversation out of religion. I taught they were close to normal.
So I got baptized, didn’t stand for the flag, lost my family, wasn’t allowed to associate with worldly people and being a JW isn’t a condition in the Bible?

I read Stephen Hassan's books and one of the questions he suggests you ask a cult member is what others say about them. I'm curious about where that would lead. Thanks for all your work. I think what this highlights (and same with the Mormon discussions) is that most people are just normal people wanting to do right by their fellow man and live a good life. And regardless of our beliefs we all need a framework to place ourselves into to be able to orient ourselves in life. Even atheists have an unprovable physicalist framework they orient themselves to. A framework is not optional. It's required by the mind.
None of that's the problem. It never was.
The problem is and always has been the shunning and the isolationism and the micromanaging of people's lives. If you take those things out of the mix you just end up with a social group, and all social groups have their problems, just find one that serves you best. It's all good.
She is a very rare case of an very educated person existing in this organization. I myself befriended a doctor and I was waking up at the time. last month i went to a holyday in Europe and for the first time i saw jws “preaching” with a cart, just sitting nearby and trying to smile…with ties and suits near to the beach-walk, smiling to ppl in shorts:) When I left them they didn’t preach with carts and after that I moved to a country where they are not allowed to preach publicly. I was in the mood to be talkative with them, but we came from the beach and swimming and we were rather hungry (for real seafood!), my non exjw wife said to me, dont waste your time. Probably the thought ( who knows, i could let some seeds…) came to my mind!

One thing they say and works is "if you have the faith you are better"... And they are not the only one, it's told in every marketing course.. The more you believe the more you are convincing.

As for JWs telling me people, "We allow the Bible to speak for itself". Uh, doesn't almost every other fundamentalist, conservative denomination within Christianity who adheres to a literal interpretation of the Bible say the same thing? If the Bible "speaks for itself", then why should anyone ever undergo Bible study courses with the JWs if the text is so "self-explanatory" and requires no interpretation on the part of the individual reader? If the Bible's message is "so obvious", then why do Witnesses need to engage in public proselytizing activities? I don't believe that Satan exists, but if he did and if he tempted Jesus with promising to give him all earthly kingdoms, wouldn't that be kind of a pointless endeavor? I mean Jesus supposedly helped God create the world in his pre-earthly existence, and he supposedly gets to help Yahweh run the Earth after the Apocalypse anyway, so all the kingdoms of the world are technically co-owned by him.
I think it's silly when fundamentalist Christians say, "Satan runs the world". I thought God was supposed to own the world since he created it, or at least you'd think he is supposed to, so shouldn't he be the one who is always running it regardless of whatever Satan does? If not, and if I believed that any of this were true...I would say that God is probably just as corrupt as the devil. You mean you're going to let an evil entity run around corrupting people just so you can prove a point? Is God that much of a narcissist? Definitely do have some points here that I mostly agree with. Why is the bible riddled and so ambiguous? If God really wanted a message to be known, the Bible isn't clear on it as, again, you can get a billion interpretations of what's literal and nonliteral in the Bible.

It's sad because she's so friendly and yet is slaving away to an organization that will throw her away in a heartbeat if she decided to think for herself. We were all there at one point as JWs, just like her, standing there poised confident in our WT teachings. Confident we had the truth. I feel sorry for her, normally I get angry at JWs but sometimes my heart just sulks for some of them because they are truly delusional and don't even know it. 😔
She is confident in Jehovah. Why is it so hard for people to believe Gods house could be led astray? Didn’t it happen over and over in the past? Christ will deal with all the wrongdoing when he actually returns. Why turn against Jehovah because of some problem with the watchtower? I guess it’s hard for people who never really believed in him or understood him and his message to think others actually care and believe and aren’t just following some men

Nicely done, I like the way Lloyd injected humour into the exchange but remained really respectful. I can imagine the lady as a 'worldly' person and she'd be really lovely - she's too intelligent to be a JW sister. In fact she seemed more genuine than I can imagine Jade or Nita being, although I think fame might have gone to their heads 🤣

Hi Lloyd! I'm curious, have you ever asked a JW what people say about their group? I read Stephen Hassan's books and one of the questions he suggests you ask a cult member is what others say about them. I'm curious about where that would lead.
