Hey, Benji! I don't know how things are there in LA, but I hope you're in a safe place and this hurricane won't have any effect on you and your family. Make sure you keep us posted on how you're doing! Best wishes from your Brazilian fan ❤
I live in LA, too. The hurricane touched down 200 miles south, and is wreaking havoc in Ensenada, Mexico. We are getting some much needed rain in LA. The rain is coming in briskly--but intermittently stops--with a constant warm sprinkle. It is not very windy.
@@swicheroo1 wonderful news! Just read that not much to report in Ensenada either. It will be more of an inconvenience than a tragedy and that's much better than we were expecting. Keep yourself safe too!
Benji! I imported an everfresh tree and it did the exact same thing (lost all its leaves). It was about the same size as yours. I recommend keeping it in a humidity dome and then slowly acclimating it back to the regular humidity once it produces enough new branches. This process took about 4-6 weeks. I hope yours makes it. I was sooooo stressed about mine.
at what part does he talk about the everfresh tree? I'm surprised I missed it since I just finished watching the video and already don't remember where it was mentioned
I killed 50 or more succulents. I live in windy and cloudy area. I even used artificial lights but my succulents died because of water issues or light issues all the time and I have just gave up. Now I am happy with my spider plant. I have even propogated lots of spider and gifted to my friends. sometimes if things dont work just focus on thihngs that works.
My favorite part of the vlogis when you showed us the cute rock couch. You just found a cool rock and decided to use it for decoration; I feel a connection with that 😁
I've always wanted to have the kind of relationship with my ex-boyfriend that you have with Chris, but now everything is lost. I've made various mistakes. He was my number one, the best person I could ever know, my best friend, the only person I trusted, with whom I shared all my thoughts, who accepted me for who I was. With him, I could be myself and feel free. I loved who he was, I loved his playful and childlike nature. It took me years to get to know him deeply, and along the way, he helped me grow in many aspects of my life.
be thankful for the good times, but being on your own is amazing too - take time to develop that relationship with yourself because it's exciting too!🥰life's about adapting to change, and it's okay to feel sad.💞
welcome home!!! i hope chris has recovered and is doing well too! of course he should never feel pressured to be in your videos, but you two are always so cute toghether
Benji, I've tried Everfresh trees in Japan. I got 4 actually and gifted 2 to my colleagues after repotting in semi hydro. Theirs survived and are thriving. I lost my first one because of wrong repotting. And my final one grew crazy, also in semi hydro pumice. Based on experience, small cuttings Everfresh are way more difficult to survive, adapt and grow. I suggest you invest in a slightly more established one, with thicker trunk. When it has adapted, propogate it if you want smaller versions. I love Everfresh and I hope you managed to grow one successfully.❤
Your pots from Japan are gorgeous. I especially like the green emerald one. I love that you are getting into the lower maintenance plants. I can’t wait to see your potting video. Theo looking through the window at the end was everything. Thanks for another wonderful video.
I just got a kokedama how to book from the library today! It’s really good and has soil recipes for different types of plants. It’s called “Hanging Kokedama” by Coraleigh Parker
I just have to say… for such a young person, you have a amazing design sense, a calmness and gentleness. Can’t imagine the heights you’ll reach as an older person. Remarkable.
The light green pot with sage markings on it reminds me of an tropical coral reef. Japanese pottery is so simple and beautiful. The rougher surfaced pots are raku, I think. One of them has a salt (NaCl) glaze. My father was really into Japanese culture and Zen when I was a child since he was studying karate at a dojo. You could go on a walk in the forest and try to find a tree seedling that you could turn into a bonsai planting by wiring it at first. I LOVE that leaf rooting vase. A desert rose or young pony tail palm could handle a confined planting place. Figs are easy to air layer for later when it out grows its pot.
Love your videos. Your music is always calming. It is so nice to see a loving family grow together with lots of love. Always look forward to you posts. Give your little gremlin a kiss from me as he is so adorable ❤
Chuckling watching benji trying to tune in the station on the radio. Waving the radio back and forth. Cracked me up. The pain is real. Look up 'rabbit ears' for old tv reception. Yes, I'm an old fa**, but not ancient. For me it's the sound of putting a record on the turntable. The momentary anticipation right when the needle drops. The occasional hiss and crackle at the beginning of the musical piece. An early ASMR. Ritualistic. Just a great bit of soft background.
What thoughtful friends for organising a precious gift..so much thought and love. I like your new curtains in the lounge. You've inspired me to look at plants as decor..love it🌱
Loved this video Benji! As always, super relaxing and authentic. Was anyone else getting a blank/black screen at 27:25 with some chill bird noises for a few seconds?
Really beautiful, what an unusual/non-typical 'Japan shopping haul' to have stumbled upon. Beautiful handmade vases and vessels are a fantastic idea for what is absolutely worth spending money on and buying as a 'souvenir' or special gift. You bought exceptionally gorgeous things. Thanks for this upload, I loved it.
Theo in the back "he's playing with his grass again" lol excited about the potting and also learning about top dressing, Seoul/Korea is another country that has beautiful plants / pots and ceramics. ps I got a Muji circulator fan and it realllly makes a difference! i cannot stand the noise from floor fans but this one is really quiet in comparison and really helps cool the room and move the air around, its worth every penny
That new curtain looks amazing!😭 Also, i love that this one is kind of a longer video, I do support the longer format plant care as well! Take care, fan from Hungary🤗
I would totally love a video where you go over Platycerium care (pests, good educational resources, how you prevent mold). I have a few platy but it’s been a bit rough in terms of pests and finding what works best for them. Yours all look so beautiful! I have a bifurcatum, elephantotis, and ridleyi.
So jealous of that ficus leaf vase! Next time I go back to Japan I'll refer to this video for the shop name to pick one up for myself. :) Totally with you on the lower maintenance plants. I remember trying to grow succulents in my college dorm in the midwest and failing miserably, but now living in LA I'm giving it another shot and loving the slower process.
Hey Benji you got fans over here in the Projects in NYC in the hood. we started growing and collecting plants because of you. ONE LOVE YA HEARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Benji, like your curtain from IKEA, very artistic. I bought a gasteria from IKEA few months ago but haven't repotted it yet. Glad you did yours so reminded me of doing something 2ith my gasteria. Your pot is very beautiful and the gasteria looks cool in it. I'm very excited for the next video when you repot your new plants in your Japanese ceramic. Thanks for sharing and happy growing. 😊
Hey Benji, you mentioned in this video you like to just turn on the radio and have the jazz station running in the background. You should maybe try 88.5. Its a fun rock station that has a pretty positive eclectic array of different rock songs. Its awesome.
Welcome home Benji, Hope your able to travel back to Japan soon. I really enjoyed your videos ^ saved them in my file. Japan is my dream Country to visit. Wow you were able to bring back a few pots, enjoy. Your repotting... Be safe!
11:46: Hey, T. Is that you?🐶😊 12:52: There you are. Nice to see your little face 23:57: T, photobomb😁 15:57: Whynter ARC-14SH (portable, standing, air-conditioner). We have a small one-bedroom unit. We're on the upper level of our building, and the unit is NOT insulated. This unit keeps the living room and kitchen areas cool. This has a dual hose. 18:29: Danny and Ricky: In this age of digital media, what made you decide to make a hand-made scrapbook? I love it! 22:12: Would you add velcro pads on the bottom to protect the table you place it on?
Benjii can you make a video about the best ceramic stores in SoCal that you know of?? I’m getting bored of my home depot pots, I need to broaden my horizons
Welcome back. I love your new ceramics. Did you feel as if you were being watched while outside? Little stalker Theo😅 so cute how he was watching you while you worked.
OMG I NEED this ficus leave vase. I had a potted ficus leave for 1,5 years until I put it out in direct summer sun and it burned immediately. I just love how they live but you don't have to prune or repot or anything. :D
Hi Benji, Love your videos! Also, not sure if you know this but the red tear stains on sweet Theo could be from the red dye in his food and treats. I read about this somewhere and my pup's stains went away completely after removing everything with red dye. Just thought I'd share 🙂
Hello, Benji! Making my first debut to your fascinating channel! First, the fluidity of your remembrance and speaking the botanical names of your plant collections are amazing! If the plant does not have a "common" definition/name, then it's a tongue twister for me to pronounce or even remember it.(LoL)! Hopefully I will become educated enough from your channel to start a new hobby of live plant aquariums, etc. and better learn plants by their botanical name or genus. I am an avid lover of plants and gardens...so I am enjoying your channel very much! Btw, great haul from your trip! Appreciate your sharing!
In my opinion, each of the ceramics looks best when displayed on their own because then their shape is fully displayed. At 5:00 in, the insert shows the beautiful outlines of the pot's bottom, which would be hidden by putting under a plate as you were thinking of.
Hi Benji! Your videos truly make my day. My friend recently came over to visit and while I showed her the pictures that you send to us Patreon members (I tape them to my bedroom wall) I couldn't help but go on about how much I love your channel :) Hope you guys are safe in LA right now! Looking forward to your next vid. deegtjuklio
Hi, just an idea for the bedroom: I think painting that tiny brick wall a solid color would look very nice and cozy, it looks quite rough / its a strong contrast with the rest right now.
What a huge gorgeous handpainted pot behind you. Ahhh 😱 ive never seen one that big before available. Where did you find it?! 26:11 ahh theres 2!! 28:03
it’s christmas when you post 🤎🫶🌱
Literally ❤
Fr, we love you Benji ❤
Well said!
23:55 🥹🥹 Theo watching you from the living room. So precious!!
the scrapbook of Theo was too precious! What amazing friends (‘:

Your commentary on indoor house plants is everything. 💚
Plus your voice is so calming and pleasurable to the listeners.🤍
Love that Theo's over your shoulder while you repot outside 🥰

You’re style is unmatched! Love seeing what you picked up from Japan. Getting items when you travel makes it more special!
the gentleness, the calm, the plants 😊🎶
love how Theo was watching you at the back when you were repotting plants 🥹
More Theo. I would love a whole video of you and Chris hanging out with Theo. Really.
I killed 50 or more succulents. I live in windy and cloudy area. I even used artificial lights but my succulents died because of water issues or light issues all the time and I have just gave up. putting the curtain rod from wall to wall (over the door as well) would’ve been a cool look!

"Bob Ross of houseplants" pretty much nails it!😂
24:18 theo watching you is the cutest thing ❤❤❤
It's so nice that you and your Dad share your interest in plants.
Benji, I've tried Everfresh trees in Japan. I got 4 actually and gifted 2 to my colleagues after repotting in semi hydro. Theirs survived and are thriving. I lost my first one because of wrong repotting. And my final one grew crazy, also in semi hydro pumice.

I think the scrap book is the sweetest most lovely gesture I have ever seen in my life Y^_^Y
Your pots from Japan are gorgeous. I especially like the green emerald one. I love that you are getting into the lower maintenance plants. I can’t wait to see your potting video. Theo looking through the window at the end was everything. Thanks for another wonderful video.
If you toggle the station knob back and forth rapidly it’ll help recalibrate to catch the stations you want. ❤
You are one of my favorite youtubers. Theres peace and comfort in watching your videos. ❤
I just got a kokedama how to book from the library today! It’s really good and has soil recipes for different types of plants. It’s called “Hanging Kokedama” by Coraleigh Parker
I need more creators like you!! so peaceful
Benji you litterally have my dream house its so beautifull!
I just have to say… for such a young person, you have a amazing design sense, a calmness and gentleness. Can’t imagine the heights you’ll reach as an older person. Remarkable.
The scrapbook of Theo is so cute 😭
Your videos make me feel so peaceful, the way you share your daily life and how you work with your plants. Greetings from Colombia

Theo scrapbook is so cute!
I see the curtains are up in the livingroom, love to see a video about the finished look....open/closed....style.

I agree, I would love longer videos. I love watching Benji just walk around and talk about his life and do random things :)
I missed this type of videos soooo much! Can you please never leave RUclips?❤️
that 23:15 curtain is too beautiful to be from ikea !!
the pale green pot also kind of looks like a plant that’s been put under a microscope ! :-0 so cool
it looks like a slime mold 😋
You and Annika's Leaf are the only creators keeping me afloat rn lol
Hope you, chris, theo, and the plants are safe. Thanks for the video. Missing these...
What thoughtful friends for organising a precious gift..so much thought and love. I like your new curtains in the lounge. You've inspired me to look at plants as decor..love it🌱

Oops I think I just have accidentally deleted the footage and didn’t catch that. Luckily it was only a few seconds haha

Beautiful pot plants you have there.
