  • The Keplinger Research Group at the University of Colorado Boulder and the Robotic Materials Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems has developed an electrohydraulic joint which is inspired by the mechanics of spider legs. These joints can be used to drive bionispired articulated robots. Their leight weight enables robots to jump ten times their height.

I'm not a scientist, but I'm incredibly hyped by your research.
Watching this feel the same as 13 years ago when Boston Dynamics showed their first fully dynamic motion control of robotic legs.
The potential is huge here. It's awesome!

A lot of people think that engineers and scientists are the same thing. But these are different fields, still, both use a lot of science. Engineers are more focused on applied science, while scientists are more focused on the theory behind it.

    what a nice surprise!
i found out about these artificial muscles now a few years ago (when "clixoom science & future" featured you in his video) and thought its soo cool and has so much potential... great to see that you're still on it :))

compared to dc motors they are so much more of a relief to have to build I think.

I didn't understand how these actuators can be used in the future?. They will be able to replace tendons and ligaments in the future, is that it?.

u cant buy them in shops, u have to make them from scratch urself.
