I love watching Derek Trucks play, but have never seen him in person. I kept seeing him in videos and asking in comments who he was, and wasn’t surprised he was related to Butch. Do you think innate talent or growing up hearing music and in proximity to great guitarists and instruments is they key in the making of a great player? Maybe it’s all of these! 🥰
I remember seeing/hearing Derek Trucks perform at The Moon in Tallahassee when he was 13 years old. It took awhile for my brain to make the connection between a 13 y/o boy simply standing on a stage with his guitar, shoelaces untied, and playing the hell outta his guitar with talent FAR beyond his years. Taz rekindled that memory.
Jimi Hendrix's songs are played by many but the sound Jimi had and his jamming solo's are what made him special, the same goes with other legendary guitar players you can play their songs but you cant have their sound and jam skills.

Why do we always have to “Pigeon Hole” everyone by comparing them to others? Let’s just take a chill pill and admire the direction he’s taking towards his future!
Yeah Scott..you frkn. Nailed it !! Every great player is influenced by other greats..you can hear influences in his phrasing..great vibrato..as he gets older and better..he will come into his own...he doesn't need to be beat up..and judged negativity..embrace and encourage him. Taz is a fantastic player who will surely make his mark in music history. I believe he should get his electric guitar fixed because I think it shocked him each time he touched the strings by the look on his face. Damn, that must really hurt..!
I love you talked about Bruce, I played with him back in the day, at Smith's old bar in Atlanta. I was bands called serial groove killers and blood ryane, and I remember one night Bruce came in and was about to have a blood sugar moment, he was diabetic but nobody knew it, anyways he was hangry and the cooks were on break, not there, so me and my drummer went in the kitchen to raid the fridge and make him something quick, and believe it or not, he wanted a ham sandwich just like he sings about, so I made him a friggin stacked one like blimpy and he ate it all, and ever since he would smile so big when he saw me and ramble off some nonsense poetry, and being Youngster I couldn't hang with his intellect but always said anything for my lizard wearing campho-phenique
If he started when he was 5 then he already has ten years under his belt. That’s around the time of mastery. He’s showing mastery, the kind I look forward to experiencing in about 7 years if not, sooner. Props to Taz! Clearly he is surrounded by a lot of support and talent.
The kid is good. I wish him the best. What stood out to me was the killer Rhythm guitar player. That guy was funky. He destroyed that tune. Props to that guy.
I want to give this young boy credit. He shows great skill. Let him keep evolving. As far as the Hendrix comment...he ain't there yet. But he is young.
I grew up in CNY and remember when Joe Bonamassa was bombing around in the clubs in the area when he was a youngster. This young man reminds me a lot of him, which is quite a compliment for someone so young. Like Eric Clapton said of Joe B. back in the day, "he needs some mileage" and he went and got it. This kid will probably be just as good one day when he gets some of that mileage. But, for my part, I really like seeing videos that feature bright young talent such as this young man. It gives me hope for the future of music, especially for blues guitar.

He could hang with some of the goats and not seem out of place. His feel + skill are both on point!
@@SeagoGuitarist yeah, no video or intro and just listen and this is good whoever it is. Talent shines through.
@@holliswilliams8426 Yes, there are many cases of child prodigies that don't continue growing at the same rate, who when they get older do not continue to garner the same attention. (first time I eve used "garner" in a sentence)
DAMN!!!
Let us hope that he hangs with positive people that will not drag him down or ruin his gift.
Amazing!! ... I have to say that he is even far more talented than some of the other guitar newbies I've seen on the tuber and his guitar licks are cleaner, sharper and tighter also.
He's more than good o.k. he's beyond limits, he is a teacher of the great wisdom of embracing the now. He's in the pocket and he's is as good as good gets.
You're right, he just may be the next Hendrix!!!!! This 15-year-old kid, is going to the BIG TIME. I wish him all the best. I was in a rock band when I was 15, I'm 70 now. This kid at 15 makes me look like I was playing on a wind-up plastic guitar.
Great feel for the instrument and what maturity for his years. Excellent.
Appears more jazz/blues fusion to me. Talented young man
Hendrix was out of this world, but this dude has amazing technique and great feel, so the sky is the limit.
That;s not HENDRIX, that's B.B.KING.
Checkout Jimi's guitar solo in all "All along the watchtower'! This will sum it up!
taz is cool as hell ive had the chance to meet him a few times and he is truly a very great player
Good grief. Oh my gravy! He's seasoned old soul with soooo much electricity moving through his mortal body,, straight into his fingers and sends out to us. He's a legend already.
Incredible feeling,playing and soul!
Holy Shit! This kid is an incredible guitar player with tremendous instincts! Why don’t we respect this young man and his talent and encourage and support him in any way that we can WITHOUT feeling the need to compare him to an ICON at such an early age!
He sounds awesome for what he's doing now...
Soulful, clean. Many kids get by with devices creating tone. This kid has TONE!
I think he is just going to be the next Taz. Really talented young man I look forward to hearing more.
NICE ! I remember seeing Jonny Lang when he was about 15 , This kid could really go places .
How is that possible? When my son was 15 years old wasn't able to go to the bathroom by himself.
WOW! This young man is amazing! I don't want to draw anything away from him, but just want to say if you like him check out Taj Farrant. He's also a young guitar player. It's amazing what these kids are doing now a days!
Please let him grow without labeling yet. RIP Jeff Beck
Nice! Yes yes yes got it all worked out. Sounds indeed excellent piece of work starting out. Go get them kid
Damn...some are just born to do it...takes most of us years and we never get that good that quick..respect to the lad hope he goes far
This kid Taz and Taj Farrant. With the likes of them. the future of free form Rock n Roll, Jazz, Fusion looks bright.
Taz is a fantastic player who will surely make his mark in music history. I believe he should get his electric guitar fixed because I think it shocked him each time he touched the strings by the look on his face. Damn, that must really hurt..!
Hendrix was a moment in time, a once per universe gift. We should be happy to have the shared the same century with him...
Great stuff !
Had to watch it a couple of times, very enjoyable, spot on performance, clean .
Taz is amazing. I just hope he doesn't get burnt out before he becomes a full-grown man!
If he started when he was 5 then he already has ten years under his belt. That’s around the time of mastery. He’s showing mastery, the kind I look forward to experiencing in about 7 years if not, sooner. Props to Taz! Clearly he is surrounded by a lot of support and talent.
He looks like he's having fun and that's cool. Nice
That's some very smooth and tasteful playing, not just blues hacking. Very very impressive
The kid is good. I wish him the best. What stood out to me was the killer Rhythm guitar player. That guy was funky. He destroyed that tune. Props to that guy.
Playing well beyond his age! Great blues-based solo and vocals! Congrats!
Ya. No comparison to Hendrix, but the kid is mightily talented and sounds Great!
Wow! Very jazz/fusiony. Love it.
Definitely some of the best I've heard in a long time.
This is like comparing apples to oranges. They are two entirely different guitar players. Jimi then came Stevie Ray Vaughn with the same type music.
Oh boy.....
Some more blues...
Just what we needed..
More blues guitar...
I want to give this young boy credit. He shows great skill. Let him keep evolving. As far as the Hendrix comment...he ain't there yet. But he is young.
I like the way this kid plays 🎸 and sings, better than Jeff Beck?
Amazing skills for a 15 year old, this kid has a bright future in his horizons.
WOW. This kid is awesome. Thank you.
He's definitely on his way, you go baby boy!!!!!!!!!
"This FIFTEEN Year Old Guitarist WILL Be The Next HENDRIX!". He'll have to surpass Trower and SRV first.
Simply Amazing! Peace.
The ki. Cheersd is great, but don't weigh him down with the "Hendrix" tag, just let him be himself
There are great players out there and young too but never never never will there be another Hendrix period
Must be nice having God-given talent like this. It is a gift.
Wow, amazing player and so young!!
Tasty phrasing, bending, vibrato and great tone.
In 2016 I saw him play the guitarist in School of Rock on Broadway. On another night, Slash came and jammed with him and the SoR band.
Seriously clean pickin'. Go man, go!
Love the riff...and at the end the voice has the Rush quality...vocals
A number of average guitar guys could play like this with some work, but nobody can ever be Hendrix. With some work anybody else.
Highly impressed ! Quality
The ones that do not look at their guitar while they play are the best!!
This kid has it !!!
How good is that then !
Love to see people with a gift being recognised 😊
daaaaamn.... he is so gooooood.... so easy in my ears
He feels the music of playing very few have that ability many from the past he's going a long way I absolutely love to see him play in Houston,Texas
Young great natural at guitar. I'm 70 and there was nobody this good ,this young BITD.
Absolutely freaking awesome
