I discuss three different theories, the sun destroying Phos, Phos praying themselves away, and Phos leaving with the pebbles.

phos' story makes me upset, but i think a good ending for phos is for him to pass in peace, hes been through too much

Honestly my main theory for the books from the aliens are that they're the predecessors of the little rocks that Phos is currently saving, Phos is going to burn the bridge so that the rocks, when the time comes, they'll never evolve to make the same mistakes humans did.
The Rocks will write using the information they find, but at that point they will have forgotten Phos, and whatever future generation they may possibly have will have no recollection or knowledge of them either. If the other Gems could forget Phos, the Rocks will as well.
And if Phos does truly "pray for happiness", this could also result in the folks that currently know him to forget about him, as they'll never truly be happy knowing he remains there. He'll remove himself from existence, after all, he is "Looking for a way to kill himself" in his own words.
Yes, I have thought about that too. It would be great to see what happens to the pebbles after Phos.

I thought about the way the lunarions decided in which order they go into nothingness. I just have the bad feeling that the lunarians we know were the bottom of the social hirarchy. The poor and disabled and drug addicted, ect. Not bad people, but with much less power than everyone else. I can't imagine that politicians and the rich weren't the ones who got their prayer first. I have the asssumptions the system had nothing to do with "being a good person" at all. I can't imagine a fair system.
Yeah, that definitely could be the case. It all depends how they decided the hierarchy and the character of someone’s soul is very subjective. That is one of my qualms with spiritual hierarchy, but not entirely relevant to HNK. Maybe I’d have to reread, but i don’t think they got specific in how they decided.

You remember right, they never spoke about the details. It wasn't important. I just thought about it for a while, because of the "trashbin" they had on one of their moons.

What wouldbe so cool is that theory you mentioned sbout phos leaving her last big of phos on the ship. Imagine if she did that, and all the other pebbles turned out to be phosphophilite as well which is why she can understand them and speak to them *she’s speaking to herself all this time* and then they all merge together and turn back into the original phos from chapter 1
That would be cool too and could be a possibility. It would makes sense why they all understand each other.

Given that the series is rooted in Budhist symbolism, I could see Phos surviving the sun and than while literally floating through nothingness learns how to let go of his last attachments and achieve Nirvana. Which would also imply that the Lunarians simply used Phos for a shortcut instead of doing the necessery introspection to move on on their own. An even crueler twist would be Phos reaching Nirvana and realising that the Lunarians moved on but are still bound to the wheel of reincarnation and will repeat everything they went through in the next Kalpa without a Phos.

Phos deserved a real life, i guess after the kindergartner of rocks they (phos) will want just to disappear with the last of the humanity in they while saving the rocks. Because i think they already feel happy because they frogave, reflected and moved on.
Still so sad that the lunarians contaminated the gems with their hedonism even if the gems were unhumanlike, maybe because of that they were so propense to adopt this costumes of not exactly living but only losing time. Even though in the 10,000s year they eanted to live humanly lifes.

Hi! I think that burning the bridge means severing humanity from the new inorganic life that blossomed and at first we thhought that the gems were that new life form but they still had human parts in their inclusions and i think maybe phos will rid of the last trace of humanity in themselves (the phosphophilyte rock they still have) and somehow survive this? idk but yeah that's what i think'll happen

I was so confused in the series/manga on how did they have not fire but it made sense that sensei tried to make the gems society evolve and not to end up like the humans mistakes..
