Beautiful Valley Trail Ride, Main Loop, Geraldine 10-04-2022

- Today I headed south for a 420 km round trip to Beautiful Valley 15 minutes out of Geraldine. The track was around 43 km with 3 enduro options. The first lap is always a bit sketchy with long grass in places covering obsticles, the second lap got really slick and there were a few bottle necks. Managed to get stuck in a bit of a bog going up hill, dam was it hard dragging the back of the bike out. On the third lap it was drying out and got quite tacky in places with alot of mud sticking to the bike. All in all it was an awesome autumn day once the early morning cloud disappeared.

Hi, that looks like the perfect trail ride, those long flowing tracks look perfect.
Hey there, deffinitley a good ride with a nice flow to it, gets frustrating at times though with people stopping and waiting creating bottle necks on some sections of the track. I get a bit pushy and try to pass ride around people, we have a lot rocks to deal with down here I've hit riders when going off the riding line and hitting a hidden rock. I've watched a few of your rides your tracks are awesome and it looks like there's not many rocks to deal with. What size and year is your Yamaha you have many hours on it. Cheers Richard
@Richard Streeter HI, your right about the rocks lol...yes bottlenecks can be a pain,especially when there's about 20 bikes in the middle of the track my bike is a 2020 yz450fx, has been great, done 102 hours now,only done regular maintenance, fork rebuild,steering head bearings ect,good all-rounder except hot starts in gear not so good,those flowing tracks look awesome down there
@@bushriders4290 Cool same model and year bike I have, I got mine August 2020 and have just clocked 200 hrs had it's first piston done this week along with a new cam chain bike shop said it was mint inside. here is a link to some of the modes I've done if your interested, also run Lucioli 7mm thick tubes front and rear

Hey there Hayden, that's ashame about getting covid and not being able to ride. Same place just a bit of a different layout to the track, at all of Grenville's rides the direction of the track is reversed each year. Glad you enjoyed the vid, hope covid didn't hit you to hard. Cheers Richard

Hey there Hayden, how are you how long before your riding again. Yes it was pretty dam greasy in places. Dam rear brakes a few riders looked a bit freaked out when they heard the squeaking right behind them. Yeah it was alot drier last year, low cloud and a bit of drizzle I think. No the rear tyre was on it's 6th ride, did 3 rides turned it then cut a new edge then three more rides, looks like it may do another two rides. Cheers Richard
@@RichardStreeterYZ450FX oh yeah nice, I always thought about getting a knobbly knife and cutting them, the old 450 shreds them ay lol. Um I'm not sure mate, I sold the husky coz I thought it's going to be sitting for ages so maybe towards the end of the year or next year when I'm 100%. Would have to look for another bike. @@RichardStreeterYZ450FX that's good to know, I mite have to look in to getting one. Tyres aren't cheap. Oh ok thats a fair haul down to Tekapo mate! Mite have to convert the van into a motorhome haha or a roof top tent would be sweet 😄. The greasy hills sucked a bit, no chance of getting a clear run and people all over the place, we bypassed the last one on the forestry road after watching pretty much everybody not make it, 10 minutes further on I had a heart attack and got a helicopter ride out, getting out of Hospital tomorrow with a new stent fitted
Hey there Warwick, well well well a bloody heart attack eh what people will do to get a ride in a helicopter, yeah was that at the top of the forestry section I thought I had seen your IT and another next to the fence with some other guys, I couldn't see you so wasn't to sure if it was yours so I didn't stop. Hope your all good and the stent placement went well, did you get to stop or crash when it hit. Yeah those greasy hill climbs were challenging as you say couldn't get a good run at them. Yeah that was us, two of us on IT200, had a little twinge about 10 minutes beforehand when it came in I stopped and got off, 111 was dialed within a couple of minutes, Stent went well and out tomorrow, riding again in 8 weeks all going well
@@Kickaha83 Fuk yeah the joys of getting older eh, good that you were able to stop under your own steam and not have the heart attack an then crash. Bet you looked farken tough in your ridin gear for them nurses when you rolled in, hope you had clean tiny whities on. Well you look after yourself and rest up so you can get back out riding.
