    Just fished this fly on a slow stream in N. California with rising fish and it was a winner. Highly recommend this pattern. Thanks for the tutorial!

    Any alternatives to the micro flashabou in the hotspot? Maybe Krystal flash or Veevus pearl tinsel in L? That’s what I have handy haha!

    This was a very useful video. Devin's tying and your commentary about the fly after. I didn't realize super glue could be used in that manner. I always thought it wouldn't dry until pressure or thread ties compressed it. Thanks.

    Fantastic little fly. Made a good variant using stripped peacock quill

    Enjoyed the pattern. I've subbed three CDC puffs. Simplifies things a bit.

      Thanks, Devin did a great job and shared a pattern that many of us not in the competitive realm are used to tying and fishing. This one now has a spot in my fly box! I hope all is well with you. Tim www.troutandfeather.com

    Did one with UNI-Glo White #12 - works great in small streams near sun down.

    A bit like Bob Wyatts DHE

    • @TimCammisa
      @TimCammisa  4 года назад

      Thanks, Mark, and they're "sorta" similar...minus the hot spot, prominent thread ribbing, and CDC versus deer hair. ;-) Seriously, the DHE is an excellent pattern, as is the Pliva Shuttlecock that Devin ties. Having both in your box is definitely recommended, especially based on differing water types. Thanks for taking a moment to comment, and I hope to hear from you on some of my other videos. Tim Cammisa
      Thanks and sorry I did not elaborate on my comments on the DHE. I meant no disrespect and actually have the Devin Olsen book and patronize the tacticalflyfisher website. With the Pliva Shuttlecock I like his iteration of the emerger, which, like the DHE or the Klinkhamer or the Usual, can be fished “in the surface film” or “breaking the film”. I have had enormous fun with the simple DHE (or Snowshoe Hair)as well as a quill and biot bodied versions of the Bob Wyatt tie. I have gone through a phase of my own tying and fishing where I’m trying to “simplify, simplify” as Thoreau would say.
      What I find so interesting and helpful about the Olsen pattern is the inclusion of a high viz part to the wing as well as using UV floss. I’m looking forward to trying this new to me pattern whenever we can. Cheers and be safe...Mark
