I tried everything same (although GUI in AWS is a little bit changed from your videos so when I creating key pairs I do not have any check box to acknowledge but the rest is almost same) When I try to establish connection using Remote Desktop Connection I get error: The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled and the remote computer requires that authentication be enabled to connect. When you type new password in sudo passwd ec2-user is it some custom password? Where is used of key pairs that we downloaded while creating instance? Maybe I am doing something wrong regarding to this. Thank you for all lectures, I am doing whole series!
Hi vuk! Thanks for watching! I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful. 🙏🌟🤓 And you're right, the GUI has changed a bit (always a challenge to keep up!) so nice job figuring out the new UI. I haven't come across that error before, and am not finding much about it online either. But there's one answer here (www.reddit.com/r/aws/comments/p7nrrt/help_with_linux_2_vm/) that suggests your RDP client might not support Next Level Authentication? Are you using the built-in RDP client with Windows? That's what I'm using, and have never had an issue, but here's more info on that: social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/5490.configure-network-level-authentication-for-remote-desktop-services-connections.aspx To answer the other questions: -Yes, when I entered the new password, it was a custom password that I made up (you can use whatever you want here). -For the key pair, you'd use this if you were SSH-ing to the instance from your local machine using an SSH client like PuTTY or OpenSSH. In this video, we used EC2 Instance Connect, which handles the keys/credentials behind the scenes so you don't need to do anything with the downloaded keys. (But AWS forces you to download them the first time regardless.) Hope that helps! 😊 If you're able to figure out the issue, feel free to post the solution here in case it helps someone else.

Hi @MrOptimusPrime! 👋 I haven't personally done this, and am not finding too much help online. It looks like you still have to rely on the CLI for most things. Sorry!! 😕
First of all thank you for reply and detailed answer. Yes I was using built in software same as in video, I am new in AWS so I am following your lectures step by step. I will post if I find solution. Also I hope there are other ways and other Linux images to which we can connect.
Hey! Using Android tablet & accessing EC2 Linux 2 MATE VM through JUICE SSH client .. the machines only show CLI. I've set the "systemctl set-default graphical.target' as well. Despite all, that, the ssh client re/boot in cli !? How do I bring the VM to GUI state displayed? Is it even possible to achieve that with Android table alone, or do I need desktop/laptop?
Hey M! 😊 Gosh, I've never tried this from an Android tablet (and don't have one to practice on). I've only ever connected using the Remote Desktop client. I've done some Googling about JuiceSSH and other options that will give you a GUI, but I'm not really finding anything. Sorry I'm not more help!! 😐

@@TinyTechnicalTutorials Thanks for the pointer. Yes that will get me a kali linux install with desktop gui i can reach via rdp.
