    I have the stevens single shot 10 gauge model 9478 with a 36 in barrel I bought about 25 years ago for 40 dollars that I have been using for years, I've killed hundreds of geese, ducks and probably 30 turkey's with it. It sure is fun and makes you a better marksman because you got to take your time and make sure you get them the first time.

    Just a suggestion, I would recommend getting some antibiotic super glue for the dog. It works wonders in a hunting situation on paw injuries. A clean bottle of water then put the super glue it'll seal up the paw from any infections. Happens a lot in our south Louisiana marshes and rice stubble.

      I hate saying it but you could probably find some water shoes for your dog? Might have to train them as puppies so theyd be used to it... I dunno. Don't mind me.

    • @basedboy0409
      @basedboy0409 Год назад

      @@alexlollar3293 maybe but it's not practical for hunting dogs shoes hold water and will freeze on there feet and in my area it doesn't matter what you hunt your dogs going in the Marsh so good idea but not for hunting dogs there feet would probably freeze off

    The diver was a ringneck you can tell the difference because a ringneck will have a white line on its bill and a maroon ring on its neck which is where it gets its name. A blue bill is another name for a lesser and greater scaup and will only have have a little black speck on the tip of its bill with a bill that has a blueish color. Also typically you will find your ringnecks in swamps and small bodies of water and bluebills are typically in big open water on lakes. This was an awesome video keep them coming!!

    The memories are what make duck hunting great. Some of my best hunts have been when I didn't kill many birds or any birds at all. Sometimes you remember the misses and the bad hunts just as well as the banger hunts.

    I learned to shoot shotgun when I was 13. My uncle let me borrow his 20 gauge break barrel. My cousins and I all learned on it. I got pretty good at it, even got to where I could get doubles by holding an extra shell in between my fingers as I was shooting and quickly reloading. The first time I went duck hunting was youth day, I used the break barrel and my cousins all had pumps. I was getting doubles. When I got my 5th duck my dad told me I only had one left to get. I said "ok" and set the gun in the corner of the blind. I was hooked, I wanted to come back that afternoon even if I was only for one duck. Learning on a single shot definitely makes you a better shot I believe.
