The private spot I hunt here in Iowa is all wood ducks. It’s like clock work, they show up 2-5 minutes after shooting time and you’re done in time to get to work by 9 😂
We have a spot like that in Louisiana down south in jonesville it’s filled with wood ducks, first time I went there with me and my 5 buddies we limited out in probably 6-7 minutes.it’s a small creek to there is a strait probably 25 yards and like 5 yards wide where all the woodies land and you can shoot down that stretch it’s so fun.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the content you provide. This is my first year duck hunting in Nebraska and whenever I need some tips of how to do anything I come to this channel. Your advice is so straight forward and simple I use it every weekend when I go hunting. Thank you for that. I skip past every other content creator because they just dive too deep into things that make it seem to complicated, but you do not and thank you for that, please keep up the great content 👍👍
Something to note on woodducks… yes they’re hard to decoy… unless you have a jerk string. If you brought your motionducks, they would have probably decoyed a lot better! Just what I’ve noticed, they tend to shy away/shortstop spinners, but they looooove water motion! Since that’s what they do
My group hunts woodies all the time early season on the river and holy cow is it intense I mean you hardly get to reload in time before they’re flying by again but it is fun as hell. Awesome video
I love a good wood duck hunt. That's how they do it here in TN. They just kind of show up right at shooting light and no real rhyme or reason on how they come in. They will simply bomb into the water wherever they please. If you want to keep the woodies around and it's land you own, plant some pin oaks next to the pond. But plant them close enough where they will drop the acorns into the water, but not so close that they will be standing in water. Woodies love acorns and you won't be able to keep them out if you've got acorns around.
Love the Woodie hunts! This could be a sign of a strange year, I shot a fully plumed drake woodie this year on Sept 12th in East TN. Most years early season here you can hardly tell the drakes from the hens. Has anyone else shot fully plumed wood ducks in the south that early?
Man wood duck shoots are the best. The best duck hunt I’ve ever had was a wood duck shoot in the south ms delta. We had 3 guys and we all 3 limited out in 15 minuets and I even got to work on time
Dude you shot a baby. that thing still had the egg tooth on it. LOL. Good to see you excited and enjoying your hunts. I'm glad to see you in a much better place than you were at the end of the season last year. We all certainly enjoy the work and effort you put into producing these videos for our entertainment.
You can decoy wood ducks I’ve always had better luck on a smaller spread 6-9 woodies that’s including 3 on a jerk string and maybe 4-6 mallards wood ducks love a jerk rig
I’m new to duck hunting and at a public marsh recently ducks have been leaving 20 min before shooting light ironically it has warmed up does the heat have anything to do with it
Two tips for wood ducks - 1st learn to blow a wood duck call, they are honestly the most receptive duck to calls and lose the spinners. 25 years of woodie hunting and they only consistently come to the spinners on the fields.

Dude I have a spot exactly like this in southern Alabama, tons and tons of nothing but Woodies and they fly for 5 minutes and are done😂
We have the same thing in Iowa. Good for sometimes a hundred woodies. We got 15 in 2 minutes once. The video is on our channel, titled Timber Hole

Wood ducks fly late in GA too but yea in and out by 8
Man it’s the complete opposite around here, woodies fly before legal, then half a hour later they all come back in by the pile!
Tasty bag. Love it when woodducks actually land in the decoys
No better sight/sound than some first light ducks just dropping down and splashing into the set. Excellent work!
The chaos of a good wood duck hunt is unmatched! Nice work on the king of the timber 💪

Best tasting duck IMO. Josh use a cell game cam to keep eye on pond.
Ole buddy couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn 😂
That’s all it like hunting in South Carolina. Woodies flying everywhere

Wow Josh...I dub that place Woody Heaven! That was awesome to watch and Kora did great. Can't wait to see what's next.

I enjoyed the wood duck hunt. You should try putting out some wood duck boxes for next spring. It can only make it better.

A youth hunter I brought a last weekend (November 4th) shot a beautiful plumed drake woodie also
@cruiselivingston6035 yeah but thats Novemeber not September

Fun hunt, congrats! Those unpressured little woody holes, just six deeks, no spinner 👌👊
Fella on the left was on the struggle bus
My very first duck was a banded woody. Best day ever!!
Best eating duck around! That’s crazy you can’t film on public land .
Sometimes them Woodies are on the water before you even know they're in the hole. The goal is bring em home 🤌
Wood ducks love corn
Sweet man, wood ducks always seem to be fast and furious right at shooting time 👍🦆
man you need a 410, those ducks were very close😂🤣
The view from behind y’all and the blind was awesome. Great video.
Good job not whacking the MOJO!
Sweet set up! Nice job on the woodies!
Cajun Squeal anyone? Good duck callin. Fun video
Kings of the timber!
Glad your woodies show up after shooting light haha. Ours always does it before...its like they know. Good hunt though regardless.

Awesome hunt can’t wait for the rest of the season

Yessir getting some action in bout all we got down here in ya but they fun to hunt

Great job guys. Very nice video as well. Congrats. 🎉
Hoping for the same tomorrow morning.

What gopro settings are you running to get that good of an image at first light??
love your videos! very enternaing and i love the layout boat vids
I’m new to duck hunting and at a public marsh recently ducks have been leaving 20 min before shooting light ironically it has warmed up does the heat have anything to do with it
Sounds like you're setting up on a roost
thats a taxers woody
Can you put a link for the scope cam
What is the limit on the wood ducks
Is it different on private land
The only duck you have to HUNT is a mallard. All the other ducks you just shoot at them when they fly around. Most duck hunters are just duck shooters
That is very false
I LOVE IT ❤❤❤ Great Hunting Video
Are yall allowed to shoot while they are in the water in your state?
That drake isant fully plumed
In my experience wood ducks decoy way better over motion ducks and jerk rigs. Seems like they despise mojo spinners
What’s the limit on woodys there ?
How many meters are you shooting?
That was kool
3.5" for wood duck?
Two tips for wood ducks - 1st learn to blow a wood duck call, they are honestly the most receptive duck to calls and lose the spinners.
25 years of woodie hunting and they only consistently come to the spinners on the fields.
Too much water swatting for me. Pretty little ducks deserve better.
Lord your guess is a wreck
Shootin ducks on the water, nice
first
Too much flame in every shot
How are you allowed to shoot more than three wood ducks per person? Isn’t it that over the limit in Louisiana you can only kill three wood ducks
They only had 5 wood ducks 3 and 2 the limit is only 3 per person the rest were teal
I shot 3 and chandler shot 2. Not sure where the confusion is coming from
Ground Swatters
*water* swatters
I don’t like shooting them when on the water…just sayin…
ur boy cant shoot to save his life huh
🇦🇿👍👍
Your huntin buddy needs a little practice
Ok so I'm a hunter myself however I don't think I could shoot one of the most beautiful birds in the world. But none of my bizz.
Not ethical to be shooting ducks on the water
why
