On a strategic level its perfect as well, it is a great ally to have, its bordering China and can force china to take focus off its agressive xpansion in the Ocean and force them to think about defending land borders.

You would know that if you saw American revolution where the self proclaimed rebels (Americans) fought against the British empire in the name of freedom and the republic… Thomas Jefferson said : "Rebellion against tyranny is obedience to God"… the USA were the rebels during American revolution… meanwhile during the civil war, the rebels were the confederates, the bad guys, because fought this time AGAINST the republic and the USA were not considered rebels anymore…
So learn to make the difference between the rebels who fight against the republic and the rebels who fight for the republic, because normally both sides of these rebels hate each other

Put your heart back inside your chest, compassion from afar is a futile gesture. If you truly want to help, then your brain will be much more useful in saving innocent many people. Educate yourself, do your research, form your own opinion, then disseminate it. This is an information War. Read about the NED National Endowment for Democracy. It is connected to many things in the Philippines, EDSA 1986, The MNLF, and the Siege of Marawi, just to name a few.

So many young people! I sometimes wonder if they even have time to reflect what and why they are fighting for. Aung San suu Kyi is Bamar, the dominant ethnic group in Myanmar. It was during her democratic rule, ethnic groups such as Rhoyingya's were tortured and expelled from Myanmar while other bigger, more dominant ethnicities asserts and demanded for more autonomy. It's hard to tell what went wrong but as you can see at 5:30 the Bamars are now joining up with other ethnic militants and there is still trust issues amongst themselves. It's a messed up situation.
SEA countries including China wants a peaceful and prosperous Myanmar. China has a lot of stake in Myanmar for their Belt and road. Pls don't confuse me for a Chinese because of my handle. I ain't.

It is a tragedy of human perception that we mostly focus our attention on one thing at a time, and with an ever dwindling attention span in an age of hyperinformation it is no surprise that this conflict has all but disappeared from the minds of most people outside of Myanmar, for their worries are on other, closer conflicts. So thank you for bringing this back to the forefront, for it deserves just as much attention as the war in Ukraine, rising inflation, and climate stickiness.

@@wessthemess117 It's not that we don't know, we do have internet you know. It's that we don't get the full coverage of what is really going on. And we are saved from the gruesome images of what really happens in wars.
We see the machines, the weaponry, even hear and see the blasts go off. But never ever the bodies. So we go away think that there were just property damage. And in our minds, property damage can be replaced.
(Don't say that to Serbia who reeks habit of war that the U.S. brought to it. Because the signs are still there, various structures still stands damage today, because of the lack of funds for removing such structures).
However, if we were to see actual images of dead bodies, body parts, than Americans would be more inclined to fight against any type of war the U.S. government wants to propose on another nation.
As individuals, we are a peace loving people. We don't like complications and very traditional in our mindset. War is not something we think about. And when it is presented to us, we gloss over it.
But if the majority of us were given the option, we would be against it. But it wouldn't be because we care about what going on in the world. Because "we" don't!
We are too consume with ourselves to care! So usually it would be funneling those funds to domestic issues, not some war we don't care nothing about!

    16 years old
When I went to the war
To fight for a land fit for heroes
    God on my side
And a gun in my hand
Chasing my days down to zero
    And I marched
    And I fought
    And I bled
    And I died
    And I never did get
    Any older
But I knew at the time
That a year in the line
    Was a long enough life
    For a soldier
    We all volunteered
And we wrote down our names
And we added two years to our ages
    Eager for life
    And ahead of the game
    Ready for history's pages
    And we brawled
    And we fought
And we whorled 'til we stood
    Ten thousand shoulder to shoulder
    A thirst for the Hun
We were food for the gun
    And that's what you are
    When you are soldiers
    I heard my friend cry
And he sank to his knees
    Coughing blood as he screamed
    For his mother
And I fell by his side
    And that's how we died
Clinging like kids to each other
And I lay in the mud
And the guts and the blood
And I wept as his body grew colder
And I called for my mother
    And she never came
    Though it wasn't my fault
    And I wasn't to blame
And the day's not half over
    And ten thousand slain
    And now there's nobody
    Remembers our names
And that's how it is for a soldier

This is more akin to a civil war or popular uprising against a group of generals who decided to unilaterally take control of the country from within using the Manyamar's military. If the generals and their leadership group can be exterminated this can end....Ukraine is very lucky in that its military serve the civilian interests and it is not the other way around.

Yes, it is technically a civil war, but it's what we used to call "inner occupation" during the 2013 revolution. The situation is also similar to Belarus, but these people actually took arms and continue their fight. They're fighting for the just cause. Unfortunately, it's really hard to get world's attention and help nowadays, even when crimes of such a scale like in Myanmar today going on. Ukraine also started getting help a bit too late.. if we were listened to 9 uears ago, 15 years ago, much of this wouldn't have happened. I don't think it's right, and I doon't think this is how post-WW2 world order with its core institutions like UN should work.
