16 years old
When I went to the war
To fight for a land fit for heroes
God on my side
And a gun in my hand
Chasing my days down to zero
And I marched
And I fought
And I bled
And I died
And I never did get
Any older
But I knew at the time
That a year in the line
Was a long enough life
For a soldier
We all volunteered
And we wrote down our names
And we added two years to our ages
Eager for life
And ahead of the game
Ready for history's pages
And we brawled
And we fought
And we whorled 'til we stood
Ten thousand shoulder to shoulder
A thirst for the Hun
We were food for the gun
And that's what you are
When you are soldiers
I heard my friend cry
And he sank to his knees
Coughing blood as he screamed
For his mother
And I fell by his side
And that's how we died
Clinging like kids to each other
And I lay in the mud
And the guts and the blood
And I wept as his body grew colder
And I called for my mother
And she never came
Though it wasn't my fault
And I wasn't to blame
And the day's not half over
And ten thousand slain
And now there's nobody
Remembers our names
And that's how it is for a soldier
I am Ukrainian, and my heart bleeds for these people, as they are fighting for the very similar cause. I do hope the West will be able to send you stingers, javellins etc. And maybe even we will be able to help you somehow after we win our war.
@A A finally learned the alphabet? Congrats, good job special boy.
This is more akin to a civil war or popular uprising against a group of generals who decided to unilaterally take control of the country from within using the Manyamar's military. If the generals and their leadership group can be exterminated this can end....Ukraine is very lucky in that its military serve the civilian interests and it is not the other way around.
@@Bradgilliswhammyman we are indeed! AFU are the best. 🇺🇦
Yes, it is technically a civil war, but it's what we used to call "inner occupation" during the 2013 revolution. The situation is also similar to Belarus, but these people actually took arms and continue their fight. They're fighting for the just cause. Unfortunately, it's really hard to get world's attention and help nowadays, even when crimes of such a scale like in Myanmar today going on. Ukraine also started getting help a bit too late.. if we were listened to 9 uears ago, 15 years ago, much of this wouldn't have happened. I don't think it's right, and I doon't think this is how post-WW2 world order with its core institutions like UN should work.
@@ËCXATOC The parallels are the same. We both are fighting the same enemy, The Russians. They are backing the terrorists over here
They need to send carrier. Air strike is the dog government answer atm
Victory for these freedom fighters!

Myanmar have 11 well know rebel group and plenty of them are freaking 10 worse than the military dictator goverment myanmar have right now,so which one?

It needs more people to speak up about this Bad War
Honestly, such brave men..standing up to a military regime..not many ppl can do this
Our Myanmar spring revolution should be relatable to everyone in the world, because we are fighting for freedom and democracy. We represent good against evil. But we don't know why we are fighting this fight on our own. We don't understand why we are having to fight without any external military help. Please put trust in our commitment, ambition and integrity, and help us win this fight against the evil dictator.
because Min Aung Hlaing sells his gas & oil rights to USA & CHINA! they will never support your righteous struggle, because the military guarantees gas & oil will flow cheap.
Top generals including Hlaing have seized or taken by nepotism the control of petrochemical production & distribution in Myanmar, anyone doubting, please look it up!
The US just spent the last 20 years trying to build up democracy in foreign countries via military force. It fell within weeks of us leaving. The result - millions of dead innocents. We spent 7 years in our own revolutionary war, and barely got much help until well into the later half of the war. We should expect others to do the same.
@@ColinTherac117 That depend on what your stand on this after the war is over.
If you what ever reason decided to interfere for your own selfish interests. You will find many especially those in South America aren't happy with your meddling.
Beside what you are doing basically go back against what Washington warning not to meddle with other country affairs.
As much as want to support the Myanmar fighters for democracy and freedom it is for them to decide we shouldn't interfere much especially when it done we keep demanding agree to our term for our support.
@@ColinTherac117 I am sorry my friend unless the USA or any other country support these rebel unconditionally spending millions without any conditions. That what i call truly help for democracy.
But that never gonna happen in this world. There will be alway a catch. A heavy one that favor the supporter.
Well, weren't people complain when western countries were "meddling" into other country's politics and killed all those kind and lovely dictators? They would probably said you are some CIA agents who help America destroy your prosperous regime again
The world needs to see this. Asia needs to see this!
Asean need to see this! They turned a blind eye to all this.

War can really regress developing countries back to it’s primitive stages and the progress to recover takes even longer than the war fought itself.
I have no idea on the reason for this war, but the young men fighting for their own freedom. I wish them the most of luck. Freedom is never given always fought for.
Looking back 3 years ago, the Myanmar army and government killed thousands of Rohingya a d the citizens did nothing about it...then the government got overthrown suddenly every is sad for them...disgusting
@@zairyzack93 if you truly care about the Rohingyas, then you’d know that those that survive are going to be repatriated back to this same military regime that committed the crime. More will be killed and living under oppression.
